"How did you beco so miserable?" Nellie rushed up, a look of astonishnt on her face, supporting Pannis’s back and slowly helping him sit down to prevent him from collapsing directly onto the ground. With great concern, she asked, "Who were you fighting with?"

"Uh, I was just bored and looking for so trouble for myself," Pannis rolled his eyes, speaking irritably, "I wanted to see if I could poke a few holes in myself with your weapon. Turns out I could, and then I ended up like this."

"You’re talking nonsense again." Nellie completely ignored Pannis’s nonsense, letting him ramble seriously while she just leaned beside him, intently checking his wounds until she was sure they weren’t fatal. Then she breathed a sigh of relief, stood up, and forcefully patted a wound on him. Amid his howls, she whispered softly, "Did I do this?"

"I told you, I poked them myself." Just as Pannis was about to continue with his nonsense, he saw Nellie raising her hand, apparently about to slap the wound again, and could only cry out with a sullen face, "Stop, stop, stop, don’t hit anymore. I barely managed to survive, another hit and I’ll really die. Alright, I admit it, it was you."

"Hmm, I think I fell asleep again, and I had a dream. Was it really you who I was fighting in the end?" Nellie scratched her head, speaking blankly, "What on earth happened?"

"Shouldn’t I be the one asking that question?" Pannis sighed, a conflicted expression on his face, "I really want to know what’s wrong with you, what happened inside you just now. Were you interfered with by Danacus?"

"Danacus? Oh right, Danacus." Nellie seed to have just rembered this matter, her eyes widening as she asked, "Where’s your arrow? Why didn’t you shoot it just now, why did I..."

Thud, "Shut up." Pannis endured the pain in his body and punched Nellie on the head, gritting his teeth as he spoke, "You’re not allowed to ask questions. If I let you, who never catches the main point, control the pace, you’d spend another hundred years and still wouldn’t grasp the truth. So now I’m revoking your right to ask questions. Just answer them obediently."

"Hmm." Nellie held her head, pouting and giving Pannis an angry stare secretly. But when Pannis turned his gaze to her, the knight imdiately swapped to a flattering smile, nodding foolishly, "Yes, yes, I’ll answer the questions."

"Then speak up," Pannis said, half laughing and half crying, "What was going on with you just now? What I saw was that you suddenly lost consciousness, then were controlled by your instinct to fight and began frantically attacking like you had so deep grudge. No matter how I called, you didn’t respond. I want to know what caused this condition, so you need to tell in detail what happened inside you just now."

"The problem is, I’m not really sure either," Nellie said, fretfully tilting her head and her fingers subconsciously poking Pannis until he scread in pain, then apologetically sticking out her tongue, hesitatingly speaking, "At that ti, I was just waiting for you to kill . But you just wouldn’t do it, and I got a bit bored, so I fell asleep."

Pannis didn’t comnt, just glared at the knight with dissatisfaction in his eyes.

"Okay, I admit, it wasn’t just because I was a bit bored," Nellie said sheepishly, "But I really don’t know why. I just suddenly felt very drowsy and woozier, then fell asleep. You ask why, but I don’t know the answer either."

"That’s enough of an answer," Pannis sighed and tapped Nellie’s head with his fingers, speaking, "I never hoped for an answer from you anyway, describing the process is enough. Have you experienced anything like this in the past few years?"

"I have had indeed, and I’m very certain," Nellie said with a nod. "Often, when I’ve used too much Divine Power and my ntal state gets unstable, I start feeling dazed, and then I quickly fall asleep. So, I think everything’s pretty normal, nothing much special about them."

"Huh, huh, huh," Pannis let out a string of inexplicable dry laughs, looking at Nellie as if he were looking up to a Deity. "And you think there’s nothing special about this? You’re truly a genius."

"I think it’s very normal," Nellie replied, puzzled. "Even a mortal, when exhausted of Vitality, would feel dazed and then fall straight to sleep."

"The key reason isn’t that you used too much Divine Power, but that your ntal state was unstable," Pannis explained helplessly. "That’s why you fell into a deep sleep. After you slept, the instincts of the Deity showed up, taking over control of the body, eliminating all unstable factors, including , this fool."

"So what then?" Although Pannis had forbidden the knight from asking questions, Nellie obviously ignored this directive and pressed on. "What does this have to do with you not killing ?"

"You still don’t understand?" Pannis sighed. "Did you have signs of instability just now? Haven’t you wondered why you suddenly beca dazed?"

"Uh, I hadn’t thought about that," Nellie shook her head as if it were the most natural response. "Are you saying that you think this matter relates to Danacus, which is why you didn’t continue your attack on ?"

"It’s not absolutely about him, but it’s very likely," Pannis nodded. "Think about it, the tis before when you lost control and perford actions you couldn’t understand yourself, were those tis not marked by the restlessness of Danacus? Was it not like Danacus was battling to take over your body, making you use up a lot of Vitality in the process?"

"It wasn’t always that way," Nellie hesitated before speaking: "But most of the ti, it was indeed as you said."

"That’s right," Pannis said, narrowing his eyes and stroking his chin. "I fear this is the limit of what he can do now. Even if you lose control and fall asleep, he can’t control you. He can only give control back to instinct."

"What do you an?" Nellie asked, confused. "Do you think he’s just trying to scare ?"

"Exactly," Pannis said, narrowing his eyes and sizing up the knight in front of him, as if he were smirking through Nellie, evaluating the Danacus inside her. "Has he shown any reaction now?"

"Uh, sa as those tis before," Nellie nodded, full of doubts. "Just as if he had fallen back into a deep sleep."

"It seems my guess wasn’t wrong; forcing you into sleep also costs him a lot," Pannis remarked with a twist of his mouth. "What happened afterwards?"
