He was the sole survivor. During the second, his group discovered an ogre and eliminated it… then the ogre's parents arrived and massacred them. The few survivors of the fight were devoured alive by man-eating ants, and he was the only one left. On the fourth expedition, they managed to clear several caves before being ambushed by monsters serving the dragon. He was the sole survivor.
