As the kingdom of Faraway faced the winged threat, its southern neighbors, the kingdom of Nonearby, were torn apart by a terrible civil war that quickly spilled across their borders. The rebel forces, supporting the throne claimant Olrik against the king’s forces backed by the Empire, took refuge in the southern part of Faraway, in the earldom of Thotherside.

Using their presence and the threat posed by these enemies of the monarchy as a pretext, the armies of Nonearby invaded the earldom and annexed it to their kingdom.

But they had not reckoned with the Hero of this era. This exceptional individual single-handedly defeated the entire Nonearby army, securing the borders of Faraway for two hundred years.

In Nonearby, the rebel Olrik succeeded in seizing the royal throne, and his repeated wars against the Margrave of the North contributed greatly to the fall of the Empire.
