"YOU are the hero" : The Fate of Faraway 569

You find yourself in the city of Goldenfields, the main agricultural production center of the kingdom of Faraway. On the surrounding hills, multiple varieties of wheat are cultivated, and the surplus is exported throughout the kingdom and beyond: to Overthere, Seaside, Nonearby, the Dwarven kingdoms of Boût, and until recently, to the Elves of the Enchanted Forest.

Here, large stone buildings belonging to major rchant companies stand alongside the wooden houses and silos that make up the rest of the settlent. There are no walls, and the city functions very well on local taxes alone, which explains the absence of tolls or gates at the entrance. The surroundings are safe, and the militia regularly patrols the city to ensure the peace of its inhabitants.
