Majestic stone buildings and nurous inn signs form a horizon before you. A large crowd bustles along the extrely wide roads, where four wagons can pass each other without incident. The city gates serve only to stop wagons in order to tax their contents. It is very likely that much rchandise is smuggled through the houses built into the wall, but since the taxes are not too high, many rchants prefer to pay the toll rather than entrust their goods to dubious hands. The guard is very important and guarantees the safety of the many wealthy rchants who enjoy a privileged position within the city.
