The bridge is guarded by soldiers wearing tabards of different colors. One group bears the coat of arms of Earldom Tririva, and the other that of Earldom Goodbarley. There doesn't seem to be any hostility between the two groups, as they are mixed together.

“Halt,” says one of them, “the toll for crossing the bridge is one Coin per head to leave or enter Goodbarley.”

“And,” adds another, “the toll for crossing the bridge is one Coin per head to leave or enter Tririva.”

“In short,” continues the first, “that makes it two Coins per head.”
