Capítulo 1158: Chapter 1158: Yelsen’s Story
While 123 and Monina were busy being showcased on stage (for so reason I always find those words particularly evocative), we had already begun bustling around to locate the thing that led the Fifth Fleet to Azure Star—more specifically, the thing that lured to Azure Star: According to Lin Xue’s prediction and Taville’s analysis, a “signal source” near Azure Star subconsciously induced , causing the entire fleet to mistakenly follow to the wrong destination.
A potential interference source that could influence the judgnt of Void Creatures and did so without my awareness has already garnered significant attention from all Empire researchers. After Yelsen established a stable channel connecting the World Tree Temple and War God Temple, Taville dispatched the most advanced scientific research ships and deep-space reconnaissance ships she could find, along with a research team composed of two hundred Senior Assistant Technicians and her own Mass Projection, plus a large group of Imperial Soldiers, to begin a systematic search around Azure Star.
Simultaneously, Yelsen also activated the corresponding functions of the World Managent System to retrieve the registry location of all matter in the universe and indeed discovered sothing resembling an Alien Object. However, for unknown reasons, even the Divine Race’s World Managent System couldn’t pinpoint the “Alien Object’s” exact coordinates, only vaguely determining it to be within a three-light-year radius of Azure Star. Therefore, finding it would require so ti and manpower.
Of course, only a small group of Imperial personnel was tasked with searching for the “Alien Object”; the main search force consisted of Yelsen’s Divine Servants. After all, this world is the ho ground for the Divine Race. Although the Empire and the Divine Race have a close relationship and had signed agreents allowing military support, the situation hasn’t reached a point where this agreent needs to take effect. We couldn’t very well dispatch an entire Imperial Fleet to rummage around soone else’s territory—the intrusion of the Fifth Fleet was already a bit discourteous—so the research ships and reconnaissance ships sent by Taville were the personnel limits agreed upon between and Sandora, for the rest, Yelsen’s Divine Servants would need to handle it.
Speaking of Divine Servants, I think it’s necessary to further explain the military structure of the Divine Race and Yelsen’s army. As ntioned before, the Divine Race follows an elite soldier model, forming expedition forces made of combat teams when exploring the Abyss, like the Dingdang Team of five, a typical Divine Race combat team. However, such combat teams are not the most basic military units of the Divine Race but rather basic units within the Expedition Army. Generally, beneath them is a large echelon nad “Divine Servants.”
The composition of Divine Servants cos from several sources: first, Divine Race individuals without achieving a Divine Position or still in the Apprentice phase, fewer in number, usually serve as leaders within the Divine Servant teams. Then, soldiers from various Affiliated Divine Systems of the Star Domain, for example, soldiers of the God of Flas, Water God, Dream God, etc., not belonging to the Four Major God Systems, more in quantity but weaker in power. Lastly, Divine Servants include ascended mortals, who were staunch believers of a certain God, permitted upon death to join the Divine Country due to their exceptional contributions and loyalty in life, thus becoming part of the gods, their numbers are roughly equal to the soldiers of the Affiliated Divine Systems. These comprise the Divine Servant teams.
Divine Servant armies typically do not participate in the Divine Realm’s expeditions into the Abyss; even if they do participate, it’s rare to find them on the front lines. Their primary roles are as the “Divine Master’s” servants and Personal Guards, assisting their masters in world managent, territorial defense, and handling miscellaneous tasks. They don’t always accompany their masters, usually stationed in the world managed by their master (if they follow a Managent God) or in the Divine Realm (if they follow a master who resides permanently in the Divine Realm). Yelsen’s Divine Servants are stationed in the worlds he manages, with a substantial Divine Servant army stationed in the universe where Azure Star is located—relative to the Divine Race’s terms, it can’t compare with the Empire’s inhuman super massive marine army. These Divine Servants usually reside in ancient Star Systems deep within the universe, which natives regard as the “Divine Realm,” and only act when their master issues tasks, as is the case now, with Yelsen summoning his Divine Servants to aid the Imperial Army in its search.
Simultaneously, based on the above knowledge, it’s not hard to determine who Dingdang’s Divine Servants are—Lilina certainly counts as half (that girl is half a Xyrin Apostle too), followed by Avalon’s group of Heroic Spirits, and then so hardcore Life Goddess Sect fans from other worlds Dingdang manages. It’s said she has more Divine Servants in other worlds she manages, but I’ve never seen them, doesn’t seem reliable… This discussion is getting off track.
A section of the Church District has now been designated as an “Absolute Forbidden Zone,” where only the Pope himself, along with Lei and Eva, two insiders, are allowed; any believers, even High Order War God Priests, are strictly forbidden from approaching. This is the place where our entire family and the Divine Clan Tiaozi Five are temporarily residing: of course, publicly it’s announced that the War God and Shadow Goddess reside here, ntioning no others. However, it not only houses a large group of people, but also many from the Divine Race coming and going daily, making the naturally busy “Absolute Forbidden Zone” resemble the command center for military operations… well, it is indeed a command center.
, Sandora, and other Empire leaders, alongside Yelsen’s Divine Servants, were analyzing the current intelligence in the largest conference hall here. In the hall’s center was a set of Holographic Image equipnt, with Taville’s Mass Projection floating mid-air. Her current position is within an asteroid belt outside the Constant Star System, having just completed a scanning operation to search the two to four light-year section around Azure Star without a trace found. This leads her to infer that the object we seek is likely non-material with special information cloak capabilities, making it a non-natural object deliberately placed in this universe by soone. Consequently, our scanning equipnt had been rendered useless.
anwhile, Yelsen activated the corresponding features of the World Managent System to search the registry locations of all matter in the universe and truly discovered sothing that might be an Alien Object. However, even the Divine Race’s World Managent System was unable to accurately locate the “Alien Object’s” coordinates, estimating it only within a three-light-year periter around Azure Star. Thus, finding it is going to be sowhat ti and labor-intensive.
Of course, only a small group of Imperial personnel can lead the search for the “Alien Object”; the main force of the search is, after all, the responsibility of Yelsen’s Divine Servants. Although the Empire and the Divine Race enjoy close relations with agreents that allow mutual military support, the situation has not yet necessitated the activation of such an agreent. It wouldn’t be appropriate to send a large Imperial Fleet to rummage through soone else’s realm—the random intrusion of the Fifth Fleet was already lacking in decorum—Taville dispatched the research ships and reconnaissance ships following discussions with and Sandora, setting a personnel upper limit from the Empire, and leaving the rest of the task to Yelsen’s Divine Servants to manage.
Speaking of Divine Servants, I feel the need to further explain the military structure of the Divine Race and the situation of Yelsen’s army. As previously ntioned, the Divine Race follows an elite soldier route, forming army units of combat teams for their expeditions into the Abyss, much like the Dingdang Team’s five-person group, which is a typical Divine Race combat team. However, such combat teams are not the most basic military unit but rely the basic units in the Expeditionary Army. Generally, beneath them is a large echelon called “Divine Servants.”
There are several sources for the composition of Divine Servants. Firstly, there are mbers of the Divine Race who have not obtained a Divine Position or are in the Apprentice stage; this group is usually smaller and often assus leadership roles within the Divine Servant units. Secondly, soldiers from the various Affiliated Divine Systems in the Star Domain, such as soldiers of gods like the God of Flas, Water God, and Dream God. They are not part of the Four Major God Systems, so their strength is relatively weaker, but they are greater in number. Lastly, so Divine Servants are mortals who have achieved Promotion to join the Divine Country after death due to their outstanding contributions and loyalty in life as staunch followers of a particular God. Their numbers are roughly comnsurate with those of soldiers from the Affiliated Divine Systems. This is how the ranks of Divine Servants are composed.
Typically, the Divine Servant armies do not participate in the Divine Realm’s expeditions against the Abyss. Even if involved, they rarely appear on the front lines. Their primary role is to serve as Personal Guards to their “Divine Master” and assist their masters in world managent or in the Divine Realm if they follow a master stationed there. Yelsen dispatched his army of Divine Servants to assist us in the search.
Based on this knowledge, it’s not hard to determine who Dingdang’s Divine Servants are—Lilina is definitely one of them (that girl counts as half), followed by Avalon’s group of diehard Life Goddess Sect fans in other worlds that Dingdang also manages. Anyways, in the world that Dingdang manages, she has other Divine Servants, although I’ve never personally t them, and where they co from remains a mystery to as well.
Now, in the Church District, there is an area designated as the “Absolute Forbidden Zone,” where only the Pope himself, Lei, and Eva—the only ones made aware—can approach. No follower or even a High Order War God Priest is allowed near. Publicly, it’s declared that the War God and Shadow Goddess reside here, without ntioning anyone else, though in reality, not only does a large group reside here, but nurous mbers of the Divine Race co and go daily, making this area resemble more of a command center for so military operation… well, it does serve as a command center.
With myself, Sandora, and other Empire personnel, we gathered around the holographic image equipnt placed at the center of the room. Currently suspended in midair is Taville’s Mass Projection. Her present location is in the outer space of the Constant Star System, where she recently ca from after completing a thorough, gapless scan of a two to four light-year zone around the Azure Star, but found nothing—just an empty region. So far, we have yet to uncover anything in the space we assud to contain so kind of corporeal presence with special information concealnt traits, indicating that this object is a non-natural product deliberately implanted into this universe, specifically to evade detection by soone.
“This is the situation: our scanning equipnt has failed,” Sandora looked at everyone with a helpless expression, “It’s entirely possible that what we’re dealing with has been deliberately concealed from our instrunts. Essentially… it’s a non-natural object soone consciously placed in this universe.”
“It’s not wrong to think of the worst-case scenarios at first,” I looked across the table, where a broad-chested, three-foot-three burlier known as Horn was sitting next to a female knight, who, although part of Yelsen’s Divine Servant army, also held the position of a mid-level captain. In this world, she is seen as the position of a high-ranking Valkyrie under the Godly Military Structure, similar to that in Northern Europe myths following the Divine Master.
Yelsen dispatched her to assist us.
“We’re still searching, and narrowing the search area as Ms. Lin Xue guides,” Lin Xue was slouched in her chair, tossing peanuts into her mouth without any formality, “We’re down to one thousand three hundred potential points now. I’m sure the thing we’re looking for is hidden in one of these potential points.”
The female knight stood up and spoke, “I see, I’m going to arrange the next batch of manpower. Horn, be nice to our host’s friends, you big rough guy.”
She then teleported off to outer space three light years away, leaving the church district. “Horon,” she used the alias given to the three-foot-three Big Man, who scratched the back of his head and said, “I arrived and imdiately had to start working without saying a proper hello. It’s also nice to et you.”
I looked at the Big Man, feeling a bit curious—how to say this, Yelsen’s Divine Servants, huh? They’re fascinating, aren’t you curious about them? Don’t you all wonder what interests these Divine Servants have and how they manage their ti helping their master run things when he’s busy elsewhere?
“””
“It is an honor to et you,” said the three-foot-three Big Man, who looked rough but very polite, imdiately standing up and bowing. “Emperor of Xyrin, I’ve heard a lot about you from my master. It’s said you are the brother of the Father God and a powerful Void Creature with many admirable achievents, and also a generous landlord—though I’m not sure why my master specifically ntioned this. But you’re quite famous among us Divine Servants as well.”
: “…” Maybe I should start collecting rent from 123 from now on?
After chatting with this three-foot-three Big Man for a while, we couldn’t help but focus the conversation on Yelsen. I discovered that although that flashy War God usually seems unreliable, he has an unprecedented reputation among his Divine Servants. The Apprentice War God before , built like a Northern European bear, beca so excited when talking about his master that he rubbed his hands continuously. According to him, the entire army of Divine Servants holds Yelsen in imnse reverence, which surprised . It also gave a new impression of that usually idle guy: it seems that the Tiaozi Five have their own grand tales that I’m unaware of.
“A Divine Servant like , belonging to the sa Divine System as my master, is basically an apprentice of the master. This is a tradition in the Divine Realm: Apprentice Divine Beings without a divine position often serve as Divine Servants for a true god who has a divine position. At the sa ti, they’re also apprentices. We learn combat skills and knowledge that can’t be comprehensively taught in academies from the master, as well as the responsibilities and duties of being a god. So it’s not an exaggeration to say the master is a life ntor for Divine Servants. I’ve followed the master for tens of thousands of years, and as a Divine Servant and apprentice, I’m almost ready to be on my own. Perhaps in another one or two millennia, I might also receive a divine position like my master and have my own Divine Servants and apprentices. But I believe the master’s influence on will last forever, no matter how far I can go on my own.”
When Horn, the three-foot-three Big Man, said these words, his eyes shone with sincere light. At first, I thought this topic felt sowhat peculiar. If I could just Photoshop Yelsen’s always-smiling big face out of the storyline, it’d be perfect. But now I don’t think so—the title “life ntor” is not sothing easily said. How long have I known Yelsen? Only two or three years, yet this Divine Being has been following Yelsen since his apprenticeship, lasting tens of thousands of years, transcending many mortal civilizations’ histories. Perhaps Horn learned half his skills from Yelsen—of course, the female knight who just left is the sa. But more importantly, I believe these apprentices who’ve followed Yelsen for thousands of years have learned the crucial lesson of becoming a qualified god and bearing the world’s burdens from their master.
…
Perhaps it’s best to Photoshop Yelsen’s face out of this context, or else my conscience can’t bear it…
“So, was Yelsen also an apprentice at first?” I curiously looked at Lin, who was focused on learning how to twist a magic cube with Qianqian and had already crushed more than a dozen, “And were you guys too?”
What I implied was: How on earth did it take such a thick-skinned ntor to tolerate the Dingdang Team of oddballs back then? Especially Lin, the destroyer—I can hardly imagine anyone daring to let such a berserker live within a 500-ter radius of them, except for my own thick-skinned family.
“Brother Yelsen belonged to the battlefield faction; he was never a Divine Servant.” Lin casually said, then continued handling the magic cube, crushing another one with a snap, while I curiously asked Horn, “Battlefield faction? What does that an?”
“We admire our master precisely because he cos from the battlefield faction,” Horn beca excited. “This ans instead of becoming an apprentice after leaving the academy, he directly joined the Expeditionary Army and earned his divine position entirely through his own war rits on the front lines after triumphing. This is admirable. We can’t compare to that; being an apprentice is a relatively secure option. It’s as safe as being at ho compared to the Expeditionary Army fighting on the front lines. As long as you graduate, you can steadily gain a divine position.” Horn shrugged self-mockingly, “If I hadn’t missed the academy recruitnt opportunity for the Expeditionary Army back then, I would have liked to go to the front lines directly like the master.”
I suddenly understood—this essentially boils down to two job application thods: work experience and academic credentials. Yelsen chose the challenging first route—risking life and limb on the front lines with the Expeditionary Army and, after surviving, naturally secured a position. Whereas soone like Horn took the comfortable apprentice path, finding an experienced teacher to guide them. It might take more ti (not a big deal for the Divine Race), but as long as he doesn’t brazenly fight his teacher, it’s almost guaranteed he’d succeed without fear of dying in battle. The two roads—when seen by others—show which one is more impressive, more powerful, and can make the girls scream. It’s obvious—honestly, I didn’t realize Yelsen was such a macho back then? Fresh out of graduation and went straight to fight monsters on the front line, and ca back alive with honors!
“Just signed up at the wrong window, that’s all.”
Lin muttered.
I paused: “What?”
“Oh nothing, nothing,” Lin flinched, crushing another magic cube at the sa ti, quickly shaking her head and clumsily changing the topic, “Speaking of which, I’m not as brave as brother Yelsen. Back then, my dad worried about getting into trouble and found a ntor to follow. I also went through the Divine Servant route. However, within less than a year, the ntor declared I graduated…” Towards the end, Lin looked full of pride, while Horn’s eyes widened: “A year?! That can’t be right!”
“Indeed, just a year,” Lin giggled and said, “I don’t know how, but I just did everything like the other apprentices, learned knowledge from the ntor, handled chores, and then suddenly one day, the ntor said there was nothing left in the house to smash and declared I graduated… Later, everyone ca out to see off!”
The smile on the Dragon God Girl’s face was so pure and cute, I was stunned for quite a while, lacking the courage to tell her the truth. On the side, Horn muttered to himself, “Oh, oh, I rember now, it was quite the event back then—hailed as the fastest-apprentice-graduation in Divine Realm history, the House-dismantling Demon, the Glide Bomb Surface Building Terminator…”
: “…”
Everyone: “…”(To be continued. If you like this work, you are welco to vote for recomndation tickets and monthly tickets on Qidian (qidian). Your support is my greatest motivation.)
