Capítulo 1004: Chapter 1004: A Major Mix-Up Back Then…

Let tell you, with that lot at ho who are always stirring things up, you have to be careful with everything you do. At least a third of them are top-notch when it cos to making a fuss, like Bingdisi and Lilina. Another third are experts at joining in, like Qianqian and Monina, and the final third are neutral, usually being the ones who get teased, like Sandora and —so the two of us had to find a secluded place to have a little private mont, otherwise, Lilina would definitely drag over two thousand journalists to surround us…

Sandora and I went to the moat—of course, not to throw ourselves into it.

Since I ntion it, it ans the moat really has seen such incidents. Indeed, the stretch between the new and old town circulating the city waterway in K City is quite notorious. It reportedly once recorded six attempted drownings in a month. But that’s all in the past. Ever since rumors spread about the moat being haunted, claiming those who drowned were seized by water ghosts seeking a substitute, there have been no more incidents. The ghost is said to be a female spirit with a blue halo above her head, swiftly gliding across the river surface, always appearing on rainy days…

I’m pretty sure this is Qianqian’s doing.

The weather in November is already biting cold; a few passersby walk by the windy, desolate moat, leaves litter the ground from trees planted a decade ago, stripped bare. Sandora thought they slled great. I wondered where on earth from our last al she still had room.

“How do you feel now? Have you gotten used to your new body?”

I held Sandora’s hand, strolling slowly, feeling her soft and warm touch, just like before. It’s unbelievable, the girl beside died and ca back once. Walking with now isn’t her old body, yet the familiarity remains unchanged. I was worried before she resurrected, but now everything seems the sa as before.

“There’s no problem with everyday life, but combat capabilities have certainly been reduced,” Sandora said lightly. Despite being out for a leisurely outing with her partner, she habitually brought up battle-related matters—an aspect of her as a Xyrin Apostle. Perhaps this mindset is deeply ingrained, “I’m having so trouble controlling the outflow of spiritual power, probably because so components in the body have beco a bit more sensitive than before…”

I thought for a mont and my mind went off track, “Oh, your body’s beco more sensitive…”

Sandora blushed, twisting my waist forcefully, “What are you thinking, Ah Jun!”

I awkwardly chuckled, “Ahem, Sandora, you know, absence makes the heart grow fonder, how about discussing this topic tonight?”

Her Highness the Queen unhesitatingly bit , clinging to my neck without letting go. A few grandpas and grandmas passing by looked at us enviously, saying, “Ah, to be young, to be young.”

No, actually, to have good teeth.

Feeling Sandora had no intention to let go, I had no wish to pull her down. Gently lifting my hand, I embraced her, feeling the familiar softness in my arms. Who would have thought such a decisive Queen could be so delicate?

Feeling the teeth on my neck finally relax, I couldn’t help but tilt my head slightly, kissing beside the girl’s lips. The Sandora in my arms initially tensed slightly, body quivering a bit, then she quickly cald down. She was already used to such intimacy, though she probably thought her partner was usually rather clumsy and thick-skinned. Such proactive embrace and kiss were likely a first, leaving her montarily stunned.

“Welco back.”

“Mhm, I’m back.”

And then we both paused for a few seconds, simultaneously quipping, “So cheesy!!”

The vibe’s back, now this feels more like us. I ruffled Sandora’s golden hair with so force, thinking that probably no one else in the entire multi-universe would dare do so to the Queen, “Anyway, it’s great you’re okay, finally I can breathe easy.”

Sandora tidied her slightly ssed up hair, her face showing a gentle smile, “The feeling of being cared for is so nice. This isn’t my first rebirth, but only this ti, I truly feel like it’s sothing worthy of celebration.”

“Not your first rebirth, huh? Heard about it from Bingdisi, but how many tis have you done this?”

Sandora tossed her head, “Who knows, you get used to dying and resurrecting, later so Sky Zone Emperors who knew about my ability even thought of giving a new title, ‘Immortal Sandora.’ But later, they realized I preferred opening up territories outside more than dying and resurrecting. Actually, not many know about this ability of mine. My enemies did, but soon they all died. A few Emperors who were closely associated with knew, but they wouldn’t spread the word. In the Old Empire Era, Emperors never had opposing standings, and collaborative battles were rare, so we didn’t need to know other Emperors’ abilities. Maybe Harlan heard about the Undying Battle Song Princess, but his biggest mistake was not reminding Zhadom about it.”

“They were both shrewd guys, especially Zhadom was cautious,” I laughed, “But facing in-place resurrection, caution only gets you so far.”

When we got ho, only Bingdisi was in the living room watching TV with rcury Lamp. The female hooligan was pointing at Grey Wolf on the screen, introducing to the little doll, “This is a grey-haired, pointy-clawed, skinny, hornless sheep, super delicious. You can eat everything except the head…”

The little doll gave Bingdisi a disdainful look, “Don’t take for a fool! When the silly humans co back, they’ll handle you!”

Looks like this unscrupulous bunch at ho has made a habit of feeding rcury Lamp all sorts of weird knowledge. Despite her formidable temper, the little doll seems inadequately versed in modern-day life. Once you figure out the pattern, tricking her works every ti. In the past, the little doll would explode in rage, but now it seems she’s used to it.

“Oh, such tone, ‘Wait till my dad cos back, you’re done for,’ this little girl sure is reserved,” Bingdisi completely ignored rcury Lamp’s protests, suddenly grabbing the little doll and wrestling her into her arms with great fun. Then she spotted Sandora and standing not far away, exclaiming in surprise, “Ah, back from a wild date?”

This lady’s words truly imply a lot!

rcury Lamp struggled out of Bingdisi’s embrace, perched on her throne, tightly hugged my head, and pointed at the female hooligan with one hand, “Idiot, idiot! Hit her! She tricked into watching TV, and her hands were all over the place!”

Seeing the little doll’s puffed-up face, I imdiately thought of Bingdisi’s description from before, instantly lightening my mood. Then I threw a curveball at the proud female hooligan, “Looks like you’ve really taken this kid as your daughter?”

Then both Bingdisi and rcury Lamp snapped, teaming up to revolt against . Luckily, Sandora was there; the Queen subdued them both, even threatening rcury Lamp, “If you don’t behave, Ah Jun will pluck all your feathers!”

“Why not pluck hers!” rcury Lamp hid behind , angrily pointing at Bingdisi.

I knocked on her head: “Nonsense, she usually hides her wings! Could you learn that too!”

The rcury Lamp turned her head to look at her own back where the small wings had already retracted, and she cald down.

At this mont, Xiao Xue happened to co down from the second floor and casually said as she saw us, “Hey, Dad, you’re back? Mom’s looking for you, and Mom Sandora should go too, she’s waiting for you guys in the gaming room.” Then she spotted the TV was still on in the living room, she imdiately whistled, slid down the banister, grabbed rcury Lamp from the sofa, and started introducing her, “Sister Lamp, look at this, this is the Gray Hair Sharp Claw Thin Face Hornless Sheep, it’s incredibly tasty, take the head off…” The rcury Lamp slowly turned her head and looked this way, “Hey, idiot, do I really look that easy to fool?”

The gaming room on the second floor is actually Bubble’s room. Everybody knows that girl only needs a Crystal Prism to sleep, so her rather big room is filled with a bunch of gaming consoles and other miscellaneous things, arranged just like an arcade. Later, Lin Xue and Lilina together developed mahjong and poker business here, turning Bubble’s room from a gaming room into an elderly activity center.

When we went up, Lin Xue was grabbing a big group of people and mysteriously fortune-telling. She was wearing a suspicious Mage Robe collected by Bubble, with a Hexagram hat on her head, a Cross hanging from her chest, holding a deck of cards in her hand, placing them one by one on the Zhou Yi Map on the table. After finishing, she took a bamboo stick handed over by Monina, “This benefactor, I see your face is pale and complexion not great, I’m afraid…”

Before she could finish, Monina slapped the table: “Hey! Dark Divine Race always have this skin tone, alright!”

Lin Xue calmly continued, “I’m afraid your baked cake is almost burnt…”

“Oh! I forgot!” Monina exclaid in surprise, leaping into the air, turning into a dark shadow heading straight for the kitchen. Then Qianqian excitedly clapped her hands, “Ah, how great, how great, you’re really back to normal!”

Lin Xue nodded seriously with a smile, “Of course, and I also know Wood is about to give a bump from behind.”

My hand had just lifted halfway, hearing Lin Xue’s words I paused, but still resolutely knocked down: “Are you alright now?”

“You really dared to knock,” Lin Xue could have dodged, but in the end, she just slightly shrank her head, then pretended to cover her head, giving a charming side-eye, “Did you two co back after a wild rendezvous?”

I know who Bingdisi learned that line from just now.

“Follow , let’s go to Green Star,” Lin Xue didn’t wait for us to speak, already getting up on her own, pushing away the pile of clutter, taking off the quirky little gadgets and that embarrassing Black Robe, “I just tried it, my ability has basically recovered, as long as it’s not overused there’s no problem. And I took a look at that Green Star, finally figured out how to use this thing.”

The young lady said, taking sothing out of her Personal Space, it wasn’t large, square-shaped, completely black: a cube.

This was that black lump we retrieved from the Azeroth world!

I rember Lin Xue ntioned so ti ago that she vaguely sensed the function of this Black Box, it seed to be the key item to unlocking sothing else, but back then she couldn’t see it clearly. So now… could it really be related to Green Star?!

Lin Xue seed determined to keep everyone in suspense, no matter how we asked she wouldn’t say more, only dragged everyone with an enigmatic smile, transporting us to Shadow City. Of course, not everyone ca along, besides Sandora and , those who followed were Big Sister, Qianqian, and Lilina. The Pandora Sisters lost interest once they heard it wasn’t about fighting, Little Baobao and the gang, including rcury Lamp, preferred staying ho to roll around and act cute, while the Divine Race were busy with their own things: studying the ancient Chinese mahjong culture.

Taville specially designed a unique Teleportation Gate for the Green Star landing site, which allows personnel to quickly reach the Green Star research station without triggering its alarms. Our sudden large group arrival surprised Taville, because usually, she reports first before we go to the research site.

“There should be a great crack on the Northern Hemisphere, right—hmm, I an the Northern Hemisphere as it is now.”

Lin Xue jumped on the soft surface of Green Star, speaking to Taville, “Don’t waste ti at this point, this is just an information interface, used back in the day to input data into this planet. The real maintenance channel should be at the bottom of that great crack: the scene I saw was a very deep fissure, vertical down, with a flat bottom.”

Upon hearing Lin Xue’s description, Taville imdiately nodded, “Yes, Mistress, but that area has already been checked with no entrances found. Subordinates left two observation stations at the bottom of the great crack, no new information has been reported. That’s the theory.”

“That’s because you don’t have this,” Lin Xue took out that black cube and tossed it in her hand, “Take us to the great crack.”

The great crack is a special terrain we saw earlier on Green Star, we know that the Green Star is entirely covered by a layer of green Gel Crystal, with an even surface showing almost no significant surface folds, except for the great crack, which is an exception: a massive scar, deep, sharp-edged, and neatly shaped. It’s located in the northwestern hemisphere of Green Star, close to the equator, approximately the size of Shanghai, roughly elliptical in shape, with relatively smooth inner walls, as if a sharp knife had sliced through the planet. The great crack is twenty-five kiloters deep, penetrating the Earth’s Crust at the deepest point, though field investigations revealed it’s still covered by a green protective layer.

This is why space geologists speculated upon discovering the great crack that it might suggest the surface material on Green Star is artificial. The anomalous distribution implies that the artificial layer was laid after the great crack in Green Star’s surface had ford. Such a conspicuous planetary scar naturally led to speculations that this layer suggested an open surface from which a large portion of the planet was carved out. This has led to speculation that the inhabitants might have mistaken Green Star for another world, landing there by error. This task might have been entrusted only to the Fallen Apostle, as he had data indicating that the planet should have a scar on its surface, like Azeroth’s great vortex.

As Lin Xue spoke, she produced a strange object, a small, square, pitch-black cube from her personal space.

Indeed, this was it—the black lump we brought back from the Azeroth: the Black Box!

I rembered Lin Xue ntioning so ti back that she had a vague sense of the black box’s function; it seed to be the key to unlocking sothing else, though at the ti she couldn’t see it very clearly. Now… could it be connected to Green Star after all?!

Lin Xue appeared to have made up her mind to keep everyone in suspense, refused to reveal more despite our questions, before leading everyone with a mysteriously unfathomable smile through the teleportation gate to Shadow City.
