You don’t know the power of The Fallen. Their speed is beyond your grasp, and The Fallen make no sound whatsoever when they move.

Jiang Chen chuckled. "My sword is also quite terrifying; even The Fallen would die beneath it."

Clence snorted coldly. "Nonsense. They will surely co to ambush us tonight. Just be careful. And I forgot to tell you, The Fallen have no knightly spirit. They will kill you in the dark and will never face you head-on."

"Don’t think you, as Archers, have better perception. Their senses are sharper, and their reaction speed is faster."

At that mont, Jiang Chen stood at the doorway, sensing the gazes of three people.

Their eyes were fixed tightly on Jiang Chen.

Glancing sideways, Jiang Chen t the gazes of the three middle-aged n and felt their intense killing intent.

Are these n from the Carn Family?

Jiang Chen picked up a bottle of wine from his storage, a faint smile on his face.

This world is all about fighting and killing...

The three n, standing twenty ters away, kept their eyes on Jiang Chen.

"That must be him."

"Luckily, we got the ssage. This guy also joined the operation to eliminate them."

"Actually, there’s no need for us to act; he’s quite likely to die by The Fallen’s sword."

"That’s not certain. This guy managed to kill Young Master Carn Gold; obviously, he’s a powerful expert. Anyway, we must find an opportunity for a fatal blow."

Hey, you three, discussing killing so openly, aren’t you afraid I might overhear!

"Do you have a grudge against them?" Clence walked to the door, also noticing the three n to the southeast.

"No," Jiang Chen responded indifferently.

"It’s best if you don’t. They are from the Carn Family. I forgot, you are from the Gregory Family. If you have a grudge against them, don’t expect to help you, even though we’re on the sa team."

"What if I rush out now and kill them? Would I be punished?"

"Yes," Clence replied coldly.

"I was just joking."

"I don’t know whether you’re joking or not. In any case, put personal grudges aside until The Fallen are eliminated. I don’t want to see you brawling, and neither does the commander."

Clence returned to the room, drinking wine in large gulps.

Jiang Chen also returned and sat down. He had clearly morized their faces; he just needed to find the right mont to eliminate all three of them.

Just then, Jiang Chen heard a familiar voice.

「Outside the town.」

Several of The Fallen gathered together.

"Have you gathered all the information?"

"It’s all clear now. There are over a hundred people, mostly Archers, as well as lee Classes and Magicians. It seems they’re planning to annihilate us entirely. Patrick is leading them."

"I always said the Pettis Family couldn’t be trusted, but you all insisted on heeding their words."

"Damn Pettis Family!" one of The Fallen cursed in a low growl.

"Now is not the ti to be angry. Imdiately arrange for the old, the children, and the won to evacuate. The Heroes won’t spare them."

"But where can we move them to?"

"Head deeper into the territory first, towards the area controlled by the Evil God’s minions. Wait at the border; I’ll think of sothing. If all else fails, head to my tavern."

Jiang Chen silently sipped his wine.

Why does this voice sound so familiar, as if I’ve heard it sowhere? The tavern? Which tavern?

As The Fallen conversed, Jiang Chen overheard their leader. The voice was extrely familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it.

Moreover, from their conversation, Jiang Chen learned an unntionable secret.

It seed the Pettis Family was colluding with The Fallen; there appeared to be so transaction between them.

Simmons, seeing Jiang Chen’s worried expression, chuckled. "Don’t be scared. Just stand behind us when the ti cos."

Simmons thought Jiang Chen was frightened and gave him a reassuring look.

Jiang Chen smiled but remained silent.

Tonight will be a sleepless one!

「Night fell.」

Jiang Chen lay nearby, his eyes narrowed as if asleep. In reality, he was sensing everything around him, his spiritual power highly concentrated.

Within his perception, thirteen individuals swiftly entered its range, moving as fast as cheetahs.

As they ran, they made no sound at all, as if gravity had no effect on them.

So this is The Fallen’s Qinggong, huh! Truly impressive!

Jiang Chen suddenly grew excited. They’re finally here. However, he didn’t act, choosing instead to wait for The Fallen to attack.

He wanted to see if The Fallen were as he had imagined. True Qi Attacks...

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH... The dozen or so individuals swiftly took cover outside the town, concealing themselves completely. They made no sound, like cheetahs in the dark stalking their prey.

The dozen or so Fallen nodded to each other and then acted separately.

So leaped up onto the rooftops, others continued to conceal themselves, and so moved swiftly, weaving through the town.

One of The Fallen, perched on a rooftop, stomped his foot. A large hole instantly appeared in the roof.

The five people inside looked up at the ceiling. What’s happening? Why did the roof break?

Just then, one of The Fallen swiftly descended, rapidly releasing various Sword Qi.

"Enem—"

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH...

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! Three swift cuts slit the Heroes’ throats. The other two quickly drew their swords to attack The Fallen. The Fallen dodged with a flash, struck one Hero with a palm, then with a sword strike to the throat, killed the other.

The five Heroes died instantly.

Jiang Chen keenly sensed The Fallen’s actions. Just as I expected.

The Heroes struck down by The Fallen did not resurrect; they were utterly dead, and their equipnt dropped all over the ground.

Furthermore, Jiang Chen sensed a strange power, one that seed to prevent the Heroes from resurrecting.

Insta-kill... The Fallen were indeed strong. They used their True Qi Attacks to kill enemies instantly; even heavy Armor could not withstand such attacks.

Clence suddenly opened his eyes and bellowed, "Enemy attack! Wake up imdiately!"

The two beside him instantly beca alert and prepared for battle.

As for Jiang Chen, he was still feigning sleep.

Clence glanced at Jiang Chen, wishing he could slap him. Still sleeping at a ti like this?

Just as Clence was about to kick him, Jiang Chen opened his eyes, looking confused. "What’s going on?"

"Get ready for battle, quickly! The Fallen are attacking!"

Jiang Chen, feigning cluelessness, asked, "Where are they?"

"Idiot, they’re hiding in the shadows! Just get ready for battle at once and head to the main street! We stand no chance in close-quarters combat inside these houses."

Clence kicked the door open, and the others followed closely behind.

Clence was indeed a seasoned veteran. He knew that battling The Fallen in the cramped space of a house ant certain defeat; only in an open area could they effectively fight and kill The Fallen.

At this ti, many people were on the main street, closely watching their surroundings.

AAAHH... Screams rang out; the occupants of another house had been killed.
