Legend says that there was a war between Gods in the past.
A fight between good and evil.
On one side, the Gods of the elents, and the God of nature. On the other, was the God of Darkness and the Evil God.
Two gods versus many. And yet, they were able to match the divine alliance that was forged to end their rule.
The reason? The Gods of Evil were willing to sacrifice their subordinates without hesitation to obtain more power. While the Gods of righteousness maintained their power through faith, the Evil God and his ally, the God of Darkness, maintained their powers through sacrifice.
Eventually, the war ended without a victor.
The two sides retreated for they had lost too much in too little ti. Armies gone, and powers diminished. The gods had beco shells of their forr selves.
And so, the two sides retreated. The Gods of righteousness had a place that they could call him. Every kingdom welcod them with faith and promise.
But the Evil God was not welcod the sa way. He had no place to turn to, for his territories were in ruin. He was shrined in a corner of the world, in what was called the Evil Lands.
But slowly, his power grew because a group of faithful followers remained.
There were said to be nine. Nine followers who risked their life to herd sacrifices and grow the power of their god.
They proved their loyalty and made the Evil god as powerful as he once was. Maybe even stronger.
And as the power of the Evil God grew, so did the territory of the Evil Lands.
It was like a plague. Slowly approaching the mainland, it spread like a plague. No one could stop it. The hordes of beasts that ca rushing toward kingdoms to devour entire cities in days.
Eventually, the weathered gods returned and used all of their powers to seal the Evil God. Not just the gods of righteousness, but also gods who had never shown any affiliation.
Powerful gods who remained neutral had to step in at this mont and show that they were not going to let humanity die just yet.
And so, the Evil Lands stopped growing. The Evil God and the God of Darkness were forced to stay in the Evil Lands that threatened to keep growing unless the gods kept the place in check.
But now that the gods of righteousness had used up all of their power to seal the Evil god, they could not exist in the plane of mortals any longer.
It was said that they retreated to the plane of gods to recover much faster. They needed faith more than ever, and they had asked adventurers, mortals and anyone they could to start expanding the regions of their powers that they could recover faster.
But the Evil God was different. It was said that he had completely beco one with the Evil lands. He could no longer leave the land of Evil and darkness. Only if it grew could he enter new territories.
But that also ant that he could exist within the Evil Lands.
The mont that anyone entered the Evil Lands, they faced the slight risk of eting the Evil God face to face.
But imagine eting the Evil god! He was soone that was too strong for anyone to go against. Soone in the mythical tenth tier.
Only gods could hold their own against other gods.
That was they the Evil Lands were a place that no traveler dared to cross. Even if they were in the sixth, seventh, or even eighth tier, they were too weak to go against the Evil God.
And there was also a god of darkness who was said to retreat from the plane and the fight for he had lost too much in this fight.
So when Father Joseph uttered the words, 'The Evil God', the entire church turned deadly silent. Not even the sound of breathing could be heard.
Everyone looked at each other's faces with fear apparent in their eyes. Who did't fear that a god would destroy them with a snap of his fingers?
No matter how strong the god of light was, even if they were in a church of light, they were still in the Evil Lands.
The God of light couldn't co here to rescue them. The Evil God could co here to take care of them with a snap of his fingers though.
"Do not worry. I may have made all of you too tensed." Father Joseph broke the tension.
"The Evil God would not lower his status by taking care of re trespassers. But the fact that we have reclaid a church at the borders is sothing that he will not tolerate. There will be soone to co and fight us. That person will be strong." Father Joseph said.
"And who might that be, Father?" Ganshin asked.
"I am sure that you know of the nine followers who have been loyal to the Evil God through thick and thin? I have heard rumors that the strongest of them has even gotten to the ninth tier because of the blessing of the Evil god."
"But we will not be facing that person. Our trial shall be the weakest of the nine. But still, soone to be fearing. The nine are not to be trifled with. Even the weakest among the nine will still be in the seventh tier, stronger than , and much stronger than everyone else here." Father Joseph said.
"We will be going against soone in the seventh tier?" Jake asked, his face blank.
He knew that this was going to be a difficult quest, but now, the quest had just gotten insanely difficult.
