Even though they were looking straight at the source of light, Jake didn't blink. This light wasn't piercing, but rather soft, warm, and did not harm his eyes even though he was looking straight at it.

Father Joseph stepped in front of the statue, putting his hands together and closing his eyes.

As the statue basked in the divine brilliance of the divine stone that was brought here, Father Joseph started praying.

And for a mont there, Jake could swear that the statue's eyes seed like they had glowed far more than they were supposed to. Like actual eyes.

Below the statue, at its feet, the broken hand to the right foot started shaking, like it was alive. Jake didn't know what disease caught him, but he bent down and took the rock hand.

It was smooth, and for so reason, also quite soft, like a hand that was actually alive.

Jake then raised the hand and tried to hold the hand near the broken part of the statue that was as tall as he was.

The hand broke free from Jake's grip and just attached itself to the statue.

Ooooohm

A holy sound ca as the entire church suddenly beca lit with a bright white light. Everyone looked away from the statue that was the source of his light.

Jake also turned away, and as he was closest to the statue, when he turned around, he could see the entire church in one glance.

For so reason, the dusty benches, the low hanging candles, all of these were gone. The church felt completely new, like soone had just cleaned the place.

The cobwebs on the ceiling were gone. The dust on the benches were gone. It was as spotless church, and the walls were a bright white that reflected the light complete.

The whole church shone like the way it was supposed to since the very beginning.

"What? I actually got experience for this? I leveled up?" Jake was shocked. He quickly looked at his stats to confirm what just happened.

As expected, the items that he usually used were no longer here because he put them all away as he started this journey.

He never planned on bringing the priest's necklace because he was planning on ascending his tier, and he didn't care too much about the loot it would bring.

Better lose on that loot rather than risk losing the necklace.

In the end, not bringing that necklace was a wonderful move. He wasn't going to get any loot at all in this place, considering that the Evil Beasts never dropped anything.

Behind Jake, the blinding light slowly started dimming down, and Jake turned around to look at what had just happened.

He ca face to face with the statue of the God of Light, which was glowing with a golden light, and looked truly divine. Which was obvious, considering that it was categorized as a divine item.

The features of the statue were more detailed now, and it looked like the stature was crafted by a master craftsman.

"Ah! The beauty of God." Father Joseph had a smile on his face as wide as it could get. His eyes of reverence were glued on the statue, and he was just slowly walking forward, closer and closer to the statue.

The statue started shining a little, and Father Joseph froze. He then turned around to look at Jake and Ganshin.

"His Divine Brilliance is glad that there are those who have helped him return this territory to his control. And so, he shall help us in the battle that is going to co." Father Joseph nodded.

"Father. I have a question. The Holy Grounds. They are tainted, aren't they? Because of so rock. Well, will we be doing to the Holy Grounds what we did to the church? Jake asked.

"Ah! The Holy Grounds are different young Baron. The holy grounds are the resting place of Saint ester. A saint is not eternal, and he does't command the sa power that God does." Father Joseph shook his head.

"The saint, he rests within the grounds? Jake asked, shocked.

"Why else are the grounds considered holy? Well, I am glad that we have been able to accomplish at least one of the things that we have co here for. But now, it is ti to get ready."Father Joseph said.

Jake noticed that his face was much more vibrant than before. His speech wasn't hoarse, and his throat didn't feel congested anymore.

The Father was much healthier than before. The rejuvenation of the church also had an affect on this high priest.

"Ready for what, Father? You are not clear. What do we need to prepare for? These are the grounds of god. Who would dare enter this sanctuary, no matter how powerful they are?" Ganshin asked.

"Soone whose power rivals that of God himself." Father Joseph said with a foreboding tone.

"The Evil God."
