Jas imdiately started packing up his things, ready to go ho.

He thought of taking his bath but with the thought that he will be ho in about twenty minutes or so, he decided to put it on hold till gets ho.

The dorm uses a communal bathroom and toilet system, and with how excited he is right now, he can't be patient enough to wait for those that are already waiting or using it.

And Jas was too excited to check if what the voice — system — said was true.

Yes, he could also try ordering sothing online to confirm what the system said but after he lost his money to a particular crypto project, Jas has beco very careful of how he spends his money.

He doesn't want his money to go to waste if the "10x rebate" doesn't work.

Also, as soone who does his best to manage his finances, Jas always tries to make sure that he does his best to account for every dollar that goes in and out of his pocket.

Though, even with this, he sotis finds himself at a lose at how he spent his money and what he spent it on.

Optimistically speaking, Jas wants everything to be true. He badly wants it to be real. But realistically speaking, he felt that he should take things slow.

He has learnt the hard way that things that sounds too good to be true, more often definitely aren't.

It took him a few minutes to finish packing his things. He didn't have much to pack anyway and everything fitted comfortably into a small duffel bag.

After he was done packing his things, he left the room, locking it behind him, and making his way out of the dorm.

Outside the dorm, Jas didn't leave campus imdiately. Instead, he walked to a cafe. Inside, he took his seat and waited for the server to co, and take his order.

He didn't have to wait long as a girl in the establishnt's uniform walked up to him.

"Can I please take your order?"

"Yes. Can I get an egg sandwich and a flat white to go, please?" Jas replied.

"Yes. Please give us a mont. Your order will be ready in a minute." The server girl nodded with a smile, and walked to the counter.

Jas nodded and exhale, waiting for his order to arrive. He felt like asking the system more questions but he couldn't since it has gone silent.

As he waited, he felt himself becoming anxious and nervous. He tried rubbing his palms together but that didn't help.

The fact that in a couple of minutes, he would be able to confirm if what the system told him is real, made him very anxious. And he just want the wait to be over already.

After a few minutes which felt like an eternity to Jas, he was called to co to the counter to take his order.

It took all the willpower Jas had, to not run to the counter. He did his best, controlling himself as he casually stood up, and walked to it.

After a few excruciating seconds of walking, Jas was finally at the counter. He knew what he had to do as he placed his credit card on the card reader.

The tipping options appeared and Jas chose the customisable option, so that he can make his bill a round figure.

The customisable tipping point was actually the reason why he chose this particular diner.

The egg sandwich and flat white cost a total of $11.50, and with the tip, the bill will bring it up to $15.

Imdiately, Jas completed the paynt, took his order and left the cafè, with a wide grin that nearly divided his face into two.

The reason for the grin was this:

Jas, who was already holding his phone, saw his its screen lit up with a deposit alert from his bank.

"Well Fargo's Deposit Alert: A deposit of $150.00 was credited to your account ending in 6226. Available balance: $822.67."

"Yes! It's real!" Jas shouted internally, as he clenched his fist in happiness.

Jas couldn't help but take another look at his phone to confirm that what he just saw was real, and not sothing conjured up by his mind as a coping chanism.

"It's real." Jas chuckled in delight after reading the ssage again.

Jas, for the first ti in a very long ti, allowed himself a rare mont of peace.

He knew that his life was no longer going to be the sa from todays onward. The system had already explained everything about itself, and Jas saw nothing but countless opportunities through it.

Where he stood, Jas looked up to the sky and vowed that he would use the system to change his life for the better. He will clear his debt and improve his, and his family's condition.

He will make sure that they never lack again and he will give them the best that life can offer. And he intends to achieve all of this through the help of the system.

"Now, it's ti to go ho," Jas said, as he called for a Lyft ride.

After he placed his ride, Jas saw that the driver who took his order was already in the vicinity, and he started walking to the location.

Few minutes later, Jas got into the car, gave the driver his address. Afterwards the driver started the car and drove off.

A couples of minutes later, the car stopped in front of his house and Jas stepped out, after paying the fare.

"Alright, let's see if it happened again. If it does, then it's real. No fluke. No coincidence."

He brought up the system notification and he saw the beautiful ssage again.

Seeing the ssage again, brought a smile to Jas' face and the smile widened when he got a deposit alert from his bank confirming that the money was now in his account.

Jas took a look at his current account balance and he couldn't believe that from the previous $687, he now has more than $1,000 in his account.

This was an increase of more than $400 and this increase was achieved in less than thirty minutes.

To Jas, this was beyond shocking. He still doesn't know how to feel about it. He felt that everything was still a dream and that he would wake up from it very soon.

But after squeezing his phone and his fist very hard to the point that it caused him pain, he knew that this was his new reality. This was the reality that he hoped to wake up to before going to bed last night.

With a smile on his face, Jas walked to the house in front of him, knocked and paused for a mont before opening the door.

"Patty, Leslie, I'm ho," he said, as he walked into the house.

"Welco ho, honey."

Jas heard the warm, familiar voice of the woman who had taken care of him since he lost his parents.

Jas' eyes narrowed the next mont, when he didn't hear the second voice he was expecting.

He walked to the living room to check if she was engrossed in one of her TV shows as usual.

He had barely taken a few steps when sothing draped in a white sheet, jumped out of nowhere and appeared in front of him.

"Boo!"

"Ahhh!" Jas scread, jumping back in fright and stumbling to the floor.

"Hahahah. Gets you every single ti." A young female voice ca from the white sheet, as she bursted out into laughter, while pointing a finger at him.

Jas sighed in exasperation when he realised what had just happened. He pushed himself from the ground, with a frown on his face.

"I hate you, Leslie," he said, as he walked to the ghost and flicked the forehead.

"Ow! I love you too." The female ghost laughed, causing Jas to smile as he walked up the stairs, to his room.

Walking into his room, Jas dropped his duffel bag on the bed, collapsed into his bed, with a bright smile on his face.

"Ho sweet ho."
