After dinner, instead of directly going to his room as usual, Jas stayed back. It was finally ti to tell Patty and Leslie about the 'good thing that happened to him.'

So, imdiately after dinner, Jas told Patty and Leslie that he wants to tell the sothing and that they should follow him to the living room, and that he wants to talk to them about sothing.

The two ladies were very curious to know what it was that Jas wants to talk to them about. And so, without asking any questions, after Leslie had cleared the dining table, they went to the living room.

Patty and Leslie felt that whatever Jas wanted to talk about might be related to his new look. It has been a long ti since they've seen Jas actually used his money to buy sothing for himself.

As people that are very familiar with Jas, and his character, seeing him wearing new clothes was shocking to say the least.

Though they didn't show it on their faces when they saw the new clothes on him, they were very shocked.

This was especially so for Patty and it was the reason why she smiled when she saw him.

The Jas Patty and Leslie know had always found it hard to buy sothing for himself.

Heck, it's been ages since he bought himself a cloth or anything good. And the last ti it happened was because Patty forced him to.

And so, they couldn't help but relate his new look to whatever it was that he wants to talk to them about.

"What is it, honey?" Patty asked with a smile filled with curiosity on her face, as she took her seat on a sofa.

Leslie also took her seat beside her, and her gaze filled with curiosity fell on Jas.

Jas coughed, clearing his throat, adjusting himself on the sofa.

Jas doesn't know how to lie to Patty and so now, he was kind of finding it hard to formulate his words. Though he had already cooked up the story in his head, it was completely different from actually saying it.

Also, Jas knows Patty to be soone who is very sensitive to lies. She always knows when he or Leslie is lying.

Jas has no idea how she does it. Maybe mother's instincts? But every ti he lies and feels like he has gotten away with it, she would always call him back later, and tell him to tell her the truth.

If he could help it, Jas would prefer to tell Patty the truth. But the truth ca with questions he wasn't ready to answer—questions he didn't have answers to himself. It's sothing he doesn't fully understand himself... yet.

Without any other option, Jas sighed internally and braced himself.

"I just want to tell you guys that I won so money. The amount is substantial and I'm planning to use it to solve every problem we have," he said, with a small smile on is face.

A brief silence filled the living room after what Jas said, and it was broken by a sigh from Patty.

"Honey, I've told you this before. You don't have to spend your money on us. You must use whatever you have on yourself first.

Also, we don't have any urgent problem that needs solving. So, use your money on yourself and invest it in sothing profitable," Patty said, with a warm smile on her face.

"Mom," Leslie sighed.

"He already knows about the house... and about your job," she said, with her lowered.

Patty's eyes widened slightly and she sighed tiredly, before looking at Jas with a tired smile.

"I'm sorry, Jas. I didn't want to bother you. You already had so much on your plate and adding this to it, I felt that it wasn't fair.

You deserve to be happy, live life like the rest of your peers. I'm sorry that I'm incapable of providing such life for you."

Patty's voice beca very shaky at the end and she broke down, with uncontrollable tears streaming down her cheeks.

Jas felt a sharp pang in his heart when he saw this. He quickly stood up from his seat and sat beside Patty. He hugged her, and started caressing her hair slowly, trying to stop her from crying.

"I've never blad you or anyone for anything. In fact, I'm very happy as I get to spend my ti with the both of you everyday.

Hearing your voices, seeing your beautiful faces and smiles has always been the highlights of each day for . And I can't ask for anything more. So, never, and I an never, ever again bla yourself for anything as nothing's your fault."

"You and Leslie are the best and sweetest thing that has ever happened to . You're the reason why I didn't feel my parents' death.

So, Patty, please never for a day think that you're incapable again. You're the most capable person I know. You're strong, sweet, kind, very beautiful and smart. That is more than enough," Jas said, as he rested Patty's head on his shoulder and caressed her hair lovingly.

"Mom! Why do you have to say sothing like that? Incapable? Inadequate? When have we ever thought such of you like that? You're the best mom ever!" Leslie said, as she also broke down into tears, and hugged Patty, with trembling hands.

Jas sighed when he saw this. He has no idea that Patty and Leslie has keeping so much emotions bottled up.

This was especially so for Patty. But Jas understood why.

After graduating from high school, becoming an adult and stepping into the society, Jas finally realised just how unfair the world is.

And this was even more so for Patty, a divorcee with two kids to take care of. Things has never been so difficult.

Jas sighed once more as he continued to caress Patty's hair. Her cry had reduced to a soft sob, but Jas and Leslie didn't seem to have any intention of stopping the hug.

All Jas wanted was to just tell his fabricated story and create a cover for himself for future purpose. But with the situation at hand at hand, he has to forget about all that for now.

An unknown amount of passed and Patty was finally quiet. She smiled as she squeezed Leslie's and Jas' hands.

She didn't say anything but the smile on her face, her eyes and her body language, already conveyed everything.

"Don't worry, Patty. From now on, I will be the man of the house. I will take care of everything and I will give the both of you the best that life can offer. That, I promised," Jas said, with his determination burning in his eyes.

There was a brief silence after Jas words, and it was shortly broken by a soft chuckle from Patty.

"I believe you, honey," Patty said with a sweet smile on her tear stricken face.
