"Boom!"

As night fell, a deafening roar echoed across the sky, and an ominous crimson lightning bolt split the quiet cityscape.

This red lightning was none other than a void rift—sothing players who had witnessed city-level territory upgrades were no longer unfamiliar with.

The first void rift was pried open, and a massive hand composed purely of flas reached out, tearing the fissure wider to reveal its full form.

"Fire Elental Lord!"

Players in the distance imdiately recognized the identity of the first monster descending from the void rift. This was the ultimate boss that appeared in the Chaos faction's dungeon during Void Capture events. Yet here it was, erging right at the start of White Night City's upgrade…

So, just as so had speculated, had White Night City already reached Level 9 or higher? Had its last upgrade actually been a double-level jump?!

The terrifying evaluation of White Night City and its flourishing territory had long fueled speculation among interstellar players, though concrete evidence was lacking. Many were reluctant to admit it, so the theories remained just that—theories.

After all, even with rapid developnt during this period, the highest level any other player territory had achieved was Level 8. White Night City had always been ahead of all others—but whether it was one level or two ahead was impossible to discern until it was officially confird…

Yet this spectacle seed to provide the answer.

"Boom… Boom…"

The first rift was only the beginning. One after another, thunderclaps resounded as lightning bolts of varying colors struck down, forming countless void fissures in the sky above White Night City.

Amidst an overwhelming aura and oppressive pressure, the sky above the city beca a grand exhibition of bosses. Monstrous entities—so familiar, others never before seen—erged from the rifts.

Even the Fire Elental Lord, a foe that required fifty elite players to defeat in Void Capture events, seed like a re footnote in comparison.

Despite the distance, players watching from afar felt their hearts pound with dread. For the first ti, curiosity warred with caution—no one dared step closer, fearing they might accidentally wander into the bosses' attack range.

The third job advancent had also brought real-world spiritual growth to interstellar players. Thanks to their activities in the Ten Thousand Realms, the first wave of dedicated gars had reaped the rewards: many whose spiritual power had once been C-rank had now broken through to B-rank alongside their in-ga progress.

It could be said that the overall spiritual power of interstellar players had risen by an entire tier. A future where B-rankers were commonplace was only a matter of ti.

But with higher levels ca greater penalties for in-ga death. While dying in the ga wasn’t permanent, it still ant losing experience and dropping in rank. As a result, players were far more cautious now than during the early stages of the ga.

The terrifying presence wasn’t just felt by nearby players—even ordinary beasts in the vicinity of White Night City sensed it. Unlike previous territory upgrades, where frenzied beasts would attack, this ti, the overwhelming pressure from the bosses suppressed even the allure of the Tree of Creation.

Giant elentals, chiras, kodos, stitched abominations… Each of these bosses was colossal in size, and one could only imagine the devastation they would wreak if they fully descended upon White Night City.

—Faced with such a terrifying army of bosses, how would White Night City respond?

Seeing that no military units had been deployed yet, players shared the sa burning question. So speculated whether Ye Bai would resort to raising undead again, as he had before. But those who frequented White Night City had seen the Elven Queen, heard tales of the Infernal Demon God, and yet hadn’t caught sight of the First Lord himself in a long ti.

"Roar… Aaargh!"

Then, in the next mont, players heard a chorus of agonized howls—one after another, the bosses erging from the void rifts began screaming in unison.

"What’s happening?"

The cries were so wretched, and not just from one or two—every single boss about to descend was shrieking simultaneously.

No attacks from White Night City had been seen… Wait. Then the players noticed sothing strange.

In the sky, the bosses halfway through the void rifts suddenly froze mid-movent, as if soone had slamd the brakes on their invasion—forcefully.

Because in the next instant, the players watched as the parts of the bosses that had already erged from the rifts plumted uncontrollably. The rest of their bodies, still inside the rifts, were severed as the fissures abruptly snapped shut—

Like a door swung open for passage, only to be rcilessly slamd shut mid-step!

The force that closed these rifts was so sharp it bordered on spatial law itself, slicing through magical and physical defenses alike, treating all bosses with equal brutality.

The players, who had braced for an epic battle, never expected White Night City’s defense to play out like this.

No fighting—just letting the "door" crush the invading bosses to death!

Who was behind this? And how had they done it?

As the players stood dumbfounded, the severed limbs of the bosses—still twitching with life—rained down toward White Night City. But before they could hit the ground, another twist unfolded.

"What the hell is that?!"

Massive crimson tentacles shot out from a spatial portal within White Night City, snatching every single falling limb mid-air and dragging them back.

The tentacles seed to exert so suction force—not a single drop of blood splattered on the city’s streets as the remains were hauled into the portal, vanishing without a trace.

At first glance, players mistook the red tentacles for another monstrous invader. Only after seeing their actions did they realize this colossal entity was on White Night City’s side.

But what was this enormous, mollusk-like creature? Another divine summon? How could it be so massive?!

In Void Capture events, Kraken had always appeared as a little girl, primarily tasked with restraining Walsh and cleaning up the battlefield. Players who encountered White Night City’s forces never lasted long enough against the Infernal Demon God to even et Kraken, leaving her true form a mystery.

"Tsk…"

At the sight of Kraken's tentacles, the players present couldn't help but gasp. The monsters erging from the void rifts were already among the top-tier beings across the realms, but this creature—whose power clearly dwarfed theirs—was likely from the divine realm. The Elven Queen, the Infernal Demon God… Based on speculation, Ye Bai had summoned at least three divine entities. Just what else had she called forth from the divine realm?!

"Boom…"

"Roar!"

Three differently colored bolts of lightning continued to crackle above White Night City. Compared to the sudden appearance of over a dozen bosses earlier, the frequency had slowed, but the aura of each was far more terrifying.

Yet, the defenders of White Night City seed to have no upper limit to their strength. Every boss that erged from the void rifts t the sa fate—a swift "crunch" mid-descent.

Many of these powerful bosses had traits similar to the Serpent Lord, where severed body parts could still fight independently. But White Night City was prepared, with a swarm of tentacles waiting like the most efficient, intelligent garbage disposal system, cleaning up the battlefield.

Indeed, Autofis was the main force defending the city this ti, but as two of Ye Bai's bottomless gluttons, the Space Dragon wasn’t interested in just anything. The Sea God, however, would eat anything… so she volunteered to share the workload.

Thus, those dismbered body parts that could’ve still fought were snatched away before they got the chance—handling both the killing and the cleanup.

The efficiency left nearby players in awe, almost wanting to shout warnings to the bosses: "Don’t co, it’s a trap!"

The battle raged on until late into the night, with the frequency of rift appearances slowing and the bosses growing stronger.

Finally, with a tri-colored lightning strike, the most formidable boss of the battle arrived.

It was a semi-transparent, hundred-segnted giant worm, its shimring blue-scaled flesh seeming to exist outside this dinsion.

"That’s… I know this thing!"

A third-tier player who’d stumbled upon a related quest recognized it—this was the legendary monster spoken of among NPCs across the realms: the [Void Devourer], said to feed on spatial rifts. Despite its massive size, it moved with terrifying agility and was immune to most magic and physical attacks.

Like the other bosses, the Void Devourer erged from the rift, only for the spatial tear to begin closing behind it, attempting to sever its body.

But this creature, whose very na hinted at its mastery over space, wasn’t as helpless as its predecessors.

In an instant, its body turned translucent, flickering out of existence before reappearing—its hundred-ter-long form teleporting past the closing rift and successfully entering this world.

The players watching the battlefield perked up: Was this boss finally going to put up a fight?

Yet, contrary to their expectations of an epic battle, the Void Devourer froze the mont it arrived. It let out a soundless shriek, coiling tightly as if sensing sothing horrifying.

Then, under the bewildered gazes of the onlookers, its form began to fade.

The players nearly short-circuited. "Huh? Is it… running away?"

No way! They’d never seen a single siege boss—during a territory upgrade, no less—actually try to flee!

But no matter how unbelievable it seed, it was happening. This final boss, a top-tier entity of the realms, possessed enough intelligence to resist even the allure of the Level 9 World Tree’s bloom. It had chosen self-preservation over madness.

Truly, all madness stems from insufficient fear.

Seeing the Void Devourer’s attempt to escape, the red tentacles within White Night City’s spatial passage stirred, ready to intercept.

But this ti, Kraken didn’t need to act.

Because in the next mont, the players witnessed sothing unprecedented—a shadow rising from White Night City’s residential district…

The Void Devourer, even curled up, was the size of a small fortress.

But compared to the draconic shadow now looming over the city, it might as well have been an ordinary worm.

In utter silence, an ancient leviathan—one that had stood at the apex of the divine realm’s food chain since ti immorial—lifted its colossal form from White Night City. Its wings unfurled, montarily blotting out the gradually materializing void corridor in the sky, creating the illusion that it could engulf the entire city beneath its shadow.

Though none had seen it before, every player instantly recognized it: this was the Primordial Dragon spoken of in divine realm legends.

Everything unfolded soundlessly. Despite its staggering size, the Primordial Dragon moved with eerie grace, not disturbing a single structure in White Night City as it effortlessly appeared, opened its maw, and swallowed the paralyzed Void Devourer like a delicacy.

At that mont, the players were struck dumb, their minds blank. Only Kraken’s red tentacles twitched slightly, as if lanting the lost al, before slowly retreating.

With the Space Dragon devouring the final siege boss, the first light of dawn broke across the sky.

Having concluded its task, the sky-obscuring dragon paid no heed to anything else. Like its silent arrival, it folded its wings and descended, seemingly vanishing back into White Night City.

But then—as if sensing sothing—it paused mid-descent.

The Primordial Dragon lifted its majestic head toward the heavens, perfectly catching a figure descending from the void.

Timing so precise it felt orchestrated.

"Oh? I was planning to sneak back early and surprise you all. Turns out you beat to it…"

A server-wide announcent echoed at that mont:

[Congratulations! White Night City has beco the first territory to upgrade to a Capital City!]

[Exclusive Territory Title Acquired: Eternal City.]
