As the carriage gradually left Flashgold Town and was traveling on the rural road, suddenly, Rein, with his sharp hearing, caught the carriage driver mumbling in surprise,
"The weather is really too strange. It clearly seed like a sunny day in the morning, but not long after, fog has started to form."
The word 'fog' imdiately triggered Rein's alertness; after all, whether it was the dense fog during the appearance of the Iron Maiden automaton or Adams's "Black Fog" witchcraft, both were related to 'fog.'
Thus, Rein turned his head and looked outside through the carriage window.
Indeed, there appeared to be rising fog along the road, dense in so areas and sowhat thinner in others, which looked quite like patches of fog.
The carriage quickly entered a particularly dense patch of fog, and visibility dropped from dozens of ters to just a few in an instant.
The driver uttered a 'huh,' and the speed of the carriage noticeably slowed down.
But Rein suddenly felt his mind grow hazy, as though his head was spinning from hitting a large wave while on a boat, and the next second, the surroundings beca eerily quiet.
The clear chatter of the two ladies that he was used to hearing suddenly stopped.
In his confusion, Rein imdiately turned his gaze from outside to inside the carriage. In an instant, his pupils constricted, and he was shocked on the spot!
Because he discovered that now, inside the carriage, he was the only person left, and Jenny and Agatha had vanished without a trace.
This eerie scene made all the hairs on Rein's body stand on end.
With his strength as a Peak Knight, it would be impossible for anyone, even a Great Knight, to abduct the two won right under his watchful eye.
Instantly, Rein thought of Adams who controlled the black fog...
Obviously, only a wizard or soone from another mysterious profession could pull this off.
Rein reached behind and gripped the hilt of his greatsword, on guard. It was peculiar to him why his level 3 'danger perception' had not given him any warning this ti.
Soon, Rein could feel the carriage gradually co to a stop.
Suddenly, there was a knocking sound from outside the carriage.
"Thump thump thump!"
Rein was startled and tightened his grip on the sword hilt.
The anticipated attack did not happen, but instead, this 'enemy' had the courtesy to knock on the door. However, Rein quickly realized that it might not necessarily be an 'enemy.'
After a thought, Rein opened the carriage door.
He saw a tall, slender woman, dressed in a gray robe and wearing a hood, standing a few ters away from the carriage. From the hair that peeked out of her hood, it was an uncommon black.
The next second, as if in response to seeing Rein step out of the carriage, she pulled back her hood, revealing a beautiful female face.
And those distinctly pointed ears, characteristic of female elves, imdiately drew Rein's attention.
A female elf?
Rein's eyes suddenly widened, and his descent from the carriage froze for a couple of seconds.
The dark-haired elf, with a pair of bright eyes frad by long lashes, surveyed Rein and said, "Young man, please do not worry about your two friends."
"We are currently in the Mist of Dreams, and at this mont, they have fallen into deep sleep, without any danger."

Rein was startled, but he quickly responded, "The Dark Elf Mother Tree Seed? Are you referring to that light golden little tree?"
The dark-haired elf's beautiful eyes sparkled with joy, as if to say 'it's indeed with you.'
"Yes, that's the one."
"Well..." Rein was sowhat stumped.
He couldn't just admit that it had been absorbed by his system panel, could he?

"I indeed saw that light golden little tree, but it disappeared from my hands in a mont!" Rein thought for a mont and then decided to 'tell the truth.'
After all, being absorbed by the system was a fact, and its disappearance from his hands was also a fact.
The dark-haired elf frowned slightly, her expression revealing a touch of displeasure, "How is that possible?"
