"What are your thoughts about Baradiel?" Ethan inquired. "You should know a bit about her, right?"
"Well, the only thing I know about her was that thousands of years ago, she covered the world in ice," Illumina inquired. "After that, the Younger Dryas ca with a great flood that nearly erased all life on land.
"Baradiel is powerful even among Progenitors because she ruled over the elent of ice. She didn't have a following, but races worshiped her like the Fairy King, Oberon, and the Fairy Queen, Titania.
"So have said that she didn't really belong to this world and had fallen from the Heavens, forever banished in this world. There are even rumors that she was a Progenitor from another world who happened to have fallen in battle against the Progenitors from our world."
Ethan's eyes widened in shock because he didn't think about this angle.
Seeing his expression, Illumina began to tell him more of the rumors about Baradiel, which she couldn't confirm if it was fact or fiction.
As the two of them chatted, the sa person they were talking about slowly opened her eyes inside Nicole's room in the Eques Manor.
"Why are you here?" Baradiel asked in an irritated tone.
"Oh, dear. Are you on your period or sothing?" a handso devil asked with a smile. "When Hecate visits you, the two of you would sotis chat for hours. When I co to visit, you imdiately want to leave. I'm hurt-"
Baradiel summoned an Ice Sword and placed its tip on the handso demon's neck.
"If you want to get hurt, I can grant that wish of yours."
"Such discrimination. I have rights too, you know?"
Baradiel snorted and even pushed the tip of her sword against the handso demon's neck, pushing against the skin, but not forceful enough to draw blood.
"Speak." Baradiel growled. "Why are you here, Ashdai?"
The Patron of the Valentin Family looked at the ice-cold woman before heaving out an over dramatic sigh.
"Really, you need to fix that attitude of yours," Ashdai replied. "I'm actually a very happy- go-lucky fellow, but that doesn't an that you can treat like thi-Oi!"
Ashdai retreated a step back just in ti to prevent his neck from getting stabbed by the Ice Sword in Baradiel's hand.
Clearly, she didn't like seeing Ashdai and couldn't wait to kick him out of her room.
Placing a palm on his forehead, the Progenitor once again sighed before shaking his head helplessly.
"Fine, I'll tell you why I am here," Ashemdai said.
However, before saying anything, he waved his hand around the room, placing several seals over it, preventing anyone from being able to eavesdrop on their conversation in any way.
Clearly, whatever Ashdai planned to tell Baradiel was extrely confidential, so he didn't want anyone, especially the other Progenitors, to hear what he wanted to discuss with her.
Baradiel frowned but didn't make any move to stop Ashdai from whatever he was doing. Even so, she still held the Ice Sword in her hand, ready to stab the annoying demon who had just disturbed her rest.
"Finally, we can talk properly." After inspecting his handiwork, Ashdai was convinced that no one would be able to interrupt his talk with Baradiel. "I'm sure you're wondering why soone as handso, important, amazing, and fabulous as a Progenitor like is doing here, right?"
Baradiel didn't reply and simply summoned more Ice Swords, which encircled the handso demon, ready to stab him if he spoke any more nonsense.
Sensing that the ice-cold beauty truly had a short temper, Ashdai no longer delayed and cut to the chase.
As he stated the reason why he ca to see her, the coldness in Baradiel's eyes lted away, replaced by doubtful expression.
"Don't be quick to reject this offer," Ashdai, who saw that Baradiel was on the verge of attacking him, raised his hand in surrender. "I an, think about it. If we do it like this, you, , and everyone will be happy. There is no downside. It's a win-win for everyone. Don't you agree?"
Baradiel, who was quick to doubt the Demon's words, scoffed.
"What are you scheming, Demon?" Baradiel asked. "Hecate can't hold a candle against your deviousness."
"I'll take that as a complint." Ashdai chuckled. "So, what do you think?"
"I think you're tired of living. Should I help you pass on to the Circle of Reincarnation?" Baradiel answered.
"Well, I'm not in a hurry," Ashdai shrugged off Baradiel's threat, as if it was just a passing breeze. "You can give your answer anyti. However, rember this you won't get a better offer than this."
After saying those words, Ashdai waved his hand, and vanished into particles of light.
A few minutes passed, and Baradiel continued to stare at the spot where Ashdai had been standing earlier.
One of the most dangerous, unpredictable, and sly Progenitors of Midgard had given her an offer that made her hesitate.
Originally, she would have flatly rejected such a proposal.
But after thinking about it, she realized that Ashdai was right.
There were indeed no downsides... unless the Progenitor of Desires planned to do sothing that she was unable to detect in his words earlier.
'Just what is he planning?' Baradiel frowned.
Even so, she was starting to consider Ashdai's proposal.
The more she thought about it, the more it made sense to her.
Also, if things went according to plan, all the previous problems she had would be solved.
Although she would suffer a bit, the end result was extrely beneficial to her, which made her more interested in the idea.
Even so, she didn't fully trust Ashdai, for she knew that he had a way with words.
'I guess I'll discuss this with Hecate later,' Baradiel thought.
But even though she was planning to get a second opinion, she was already leaning toward accepting Ashdai's offer.
'I need to get so insurance just in case,' Baradiel mused. 'Trusting that demon is like
gambling with one's life.'
She didn't really trust Ashdai, but she trusted Hecate to a certain extent.
With the help of the Progenitor of Magic, Baradiel would be able to unearth whatever sches Ashdai had set in place before he ca to give her his proposal.
