Chapter 289: Chapter 289: Bloodthirst

Even though all those entering the Void Corridor this ti are Level 1 Mages, rrick does not belittle himself. He is confident but does not blindly underestimate others, which is why he seeks to ally with Duke.

Duke didn’t hesitate much and said, "Okay."

rrick hasn’t completely completed the Liquidation Wizard process yet, and he’s just starting out, progressing much slower than Duke.

His main studies focus on Curse Elent magic, and he seeks a very special Crystal Core, one with a cursed nature.

This Crystal Core is extrely rare, so rare that even money can’t buy it. One can only attempt to find it by entering the Void Corridor.

This is also the reason rrick intends to enter the Void Corridor. Otherwise, for general attribute Crystal Cores, he wouldn’t need to go to the Void Corridor and could obtain them through Master Land’s network and connections.

Duke then discussed so details with rrick, and rrick was planning to continue searching for information about the Void Corridor to prepare for later.

There is still two months until the Void Corridor opens, and during this ti, Duke continues refining the Blood of War, striving to reach the maximum level of this Magic Potion as soon as possible.

About a month later, news of the Void Corridor finally reached the Black Sail, with each corps notifying every Level 1 Mage in their ranks.

Duke registered through a third corps channel. The Black Sail needs to tally how many people from their side want to participate and then report to the Wizard Council.

Every hundred years, this opening attracts a large influx of Level 1 Mages, whose abilities vary greatly, and many have just been promoted to Official Wizard.

Their goal is to collect as many resources as possible, unlike Duke and his clear goal for the Crystal Core.

Duke received the news while in the laboratory, having just finished refining a batch of Blood of War, and his proficiency finally reached the maximum level.

[Blood of War Level Up, Free Attribute Points

[Blood of War: Level 9 (Trait: Bloodthirsty)]

[Bloodthirsty: After consuming Blood of War, each life you kill allows you to absorb the opponent’s life essence to strengthen your own power]

Duke looked at the Bloodthirsty trait of the Blood of War, lost in thought.

If this Bloodthirsty trait is applied to the Slave Legion, it could potentially create a batch of ever-stronger Slave Creature Legions, with many slaves gradually standing out in the course of war.

In the past, the Blood of War only enhanced strength during the effective period of the potion, with no additional effects after its efficacy ended, only with minimal side effects.

But now, with the Bloodthirsty trait, the enhanced strength is permanent, equivalent to granting each Slave Creature an innate ability.

The life essence can only be absorbed during the potion’s effect, yet it’s still a very powerful trait.

With this Bloodthirsty trait, one could rely on this Magic Potion to create a very powerful Slave Creature Legion.

Under the baptism of war, there will undoubtedly be more powerful Slave Creatures erging constantly.

The Wizards can thoroughly screen these Slave Creature Legions, integrating them and eventually selecting an extrely powerful legion.

Duke also realized that with this trait, even Wizards—not just Slave Creatures—could use the Blood of War.

However, it would consu lifespan, and generally, people wouldn’t deplete their own lifespan for strength unless the speed of power gain exceeded the rate of lifespan consumption.

Duke noted that extracting the Bloodthirsty trait required three hundred energy points, more than Automatic ditation but still quite a lot.

He infused the accumulated Power of Faith from the Light God Court into the Skill Tree, reaching only two hundred and thirty energy points, still not enough to extract the Bloodthirsty trait.

Duke thought for a mont and decided to first extract the variable-speed compression trait of the Concentrated Potion, which used up two hundred energy points.

If submitted to the Arcane Master Association, the Bloodthirsty trait would definitely stir up so waves.

After all, it’s a widely used and very important Magic Potion directly affecting the combat power of the Slave Creature Legion.

Duke needed to be cautious and introduce this trait when the timing was right to gain from it; now was not the ti.

Compared to Bloodthirsty, the impact of the variable-speed compression trait is much smaller.

This Magic Potion is already only used by Wizards in the transition from Gaseous to the Liquefaction Stage, with a naturally smaller target audience.

Duke felt that the variable-speed compression trait should yield a lot of Arcane Points, especially after extracting the trait and acquiring the knowledge that solidified his belief.

"Perception of Spiritual Activity, Dynamic Adjustnt of Compression Frequency, Anchor Force Field Adaptive Erosion Threshold..." A series of complex theories flooded his mind, forming an expansive knowledge network.

Just this one trait offered an imnse wealth of knowledge, essentially worthy of being considered a standalone discipline.

It took Duke a long ti to organize this knowledge, and two days later, he solemnly began writing it down on parchnt with the title "On the Construction of a Dynamic Energy Regulation Model in the Liquefaction Process of Spiritual Power and Its Application in Concentrated Potion Optimization."

This was not rely an optimization of the Concentrated Potion but the proposal of a new theory, using the Concentrated Potion as a practical example.

On the parchnt, Duke depicted an extensive array of energy spectrum analysis, model simulation data, and the optimized Concentrated Potion based on this model—all aspects were covered in complete detail, showcasing his detailed and thorough research process.

After submitting this research to the Arcane Master Association, he waited for half a month to receive results.

This single piece of docuntation earned Duke one hundred Arcane Points, enough to reach the requisite standard for an Arcanist Level 1 promotion, with his total Arcane Points now at one hundred and eighty-one.

He could now apply for certification and evaluation to beco a Level 1 Arcanist.

However, Duke was in no rush to apply, not having much ti to prepare. The opening of the Void Corridor was just half a month away, which required preparation.

Duke hadn’t announced his research findings yet, and only those responsible for reviewing them had seen the report.

He didn’t plan to disclose it yet, as a research outco valued at one hundred Arcane Points would surely create so impact.

Before he chooses to announce it himself, the Arcane Master Association won’t proactively reveal it but will store it in the Book of Truth.

While the study wasn’t hugely valuable to comrce associations, to Alchemists, it held significant worth.
