Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation to Grind Experience Chapter 707 - 13: Confrontation
Above the desolate gorge, two figures silently confronted each other across a deep chasm, like two frozen statues. Under the gray-white sky, the pervasive Death Energy added a touch of deadly silence between them.
Faced with Alfred’s seemingly casual "greeting," Lynch made no response. His gray eyes were cold as iron, his muscles slightly tense, and within his body, the Triple Domain Power surged like a volcano about to erupt, roiling beneath a calm facade.
The knuckles of the hand gripping Ifrid’s Sword turned slightly white from exertion, and the fervent gold-red light on the blade danced restlessly, emitting scorching heat waves that repelled a bit of the surrounding cold Death Energy. Lynch seed like a taut bow, ready for a thunderous strike at any mont.
Alfred took in Lynch’s adversarial stance, yet he rely shrugged indifferently, appearing unusually relaxed and carefree, as if he had rely encountered an old acquaintance he hadn’t seen in a long ti.
He displayed an exaggerated expression of false sorrow, his tone sowhat pained and regretful: "Don’t be like this, Lynch. Why make the atmosphere so tense? After all, we crawled out from the sa filthy pigsty, weren’t we best brothers?"
"Think about the tis at the manor; we took care of each other, relied on one another to endure those dark days, until we finally grasped that sliver of chance to change our fate."
The corner of Lynch’s mouth curled into an undisguised mocking arc, his voice icy: "Take care of each other? Are you referring to when you secretly swapped experint materials, leading to suffering severe backlash during the experint, almost turning into an idiot?"
Even when being directly exposed, Alfred showed no sha; instead, he shrugged again, his tone casual as if discussing the weather: "Well, perhaps the thod wasn’t so ’friendly,’ but at least... our goals were the sa, both wanting to escape that hellish place, wasn’t it?"
He paused, lowering his voice with a discomfiting "heartfelt" tone: "Moreover, back then I already sensed Murphy’s malicious intentions—what he needed wasn’t an apprentice, but a perfect... experint material container."
"If soone careless and less ticulous like you fell into his hands, you’d probably not even leave bone fragnts. But I..." he gestured to himself, displaying a touch of arrogance, "I considered myself more perceptive and suitable to be the Wizard’s apprentice, with more chances to survive, even... to retaliate against him."
Lynch sneered, the chill in his eyes almost freezing the soul: "According to you, I should be thanking you for your ’completion’ and ’life-saving grace’?"
"No need for that," Alfred waved generously, then his gray eyes flashed with extre coldness and twisted glint, his tone chillingly flat:
"Anyway, since at least one of us had to die—using your ’misfortune’ to fulfill my ’fortune’... as brothers who once shared a piece of black bread, this is what you... hope for, right?"
Alfred’s words echoed in the cold air, sharp with a quest for truth. His gray eyes locked onto Lynch, as if trying to penetrate the flesh and see into the depths of his soul.
"It’s just that what happened after, completely went beyond my expectations..." he continued, his tone carrying a trace of uncontainable confusion and scrutiny, "You not only survived, without turning into an idiot or dead body... but even reached such a level today, becoming an opponent I must acknowledge."
He slightly tilted his head, the usual false frivolity on his face gradually receding, replaced with rare genuine seriousness and puzzlent: "I’m curious, Lynch... tell , how did you manage it?"
He paused, lowering his voice, each word like an icy awl, piercing straight to the core:
"Or, should I rather ask—"
"’Who,’ are you realnte?"
He gazed into Lynch’s eyes.
"The real Lynch Valen, that silly boy from Frost Snow Town, might have so smarts, but it’s impossible for him to have such Stamina, such Talent, and especially to break free from shackles and reach a point capable of standing eye-to-eye with without ditation Skill, scarce resources, or guidance."
Lynch’s heart slightly jolted.
He hadn’t expected that since crossing worlds, the first one to so directly and precisely question the root of his identity, would be this Alfred in front of him.
But on second thought, it was quite logical. After all, in terms of understanding the "original" Lynch Valen of this world, no one could surpass Alfred.
They struggled to survive together in that filthy pigsty, tiptoeing in the gloomy manor, being each other’s complete witnesses of those dark days and knowing the other’s background entirely. Any small change was hard to conceal from each other’s eyes.
After a brief shock, the corner of Lynch’s mouth slowly curved into a cold, provocative arc. His gray eyes not only showed no panic but rather ignited a kind of battle intent thirsty for challenge.
"Want to know the answer?" His voice was calm, yet carried undeniable strength.
The mont his words fell—
Boom!
Lynch stepped forward!
Just one step, yet it seed to shatter the calm of Space!
Decay, Ti, Space, the Triple Domain Power unleashed without reservation, as if three horrifying realms of differing natures instantly overlapped and fused, surging toward the gorge centered on him!
The dark gray decay mist spread out, where even the pervasive Death Energy in the air seed to beco sluggish and decayed; the flow of Ti turned bizarrely unpredictable, sotis stagnant like glue, sotis accelerating away; Space appeared like shattered glass, twisted and folded into eerie shapes!
The vast spiritual power roared like a tangible tsunami, surging with the expansion of the Domain, instantly locking onto the opposite Alfred, the overwhelming pressure made even the rocks on the gorge’s sides emit overwheld groans!
The Ifrid’s Sword in Lynch’s hand erupted with an unprecedented blazing light, the tip pointed directly at Alfred, his voice suddenly raised, like battle drums beating, exploding across this desolate wasteland:
"Then bring out your full strength—"
"Find the answer on your own!"
