Lynch lifted his head to gaze at the statue of the goddess ahead, a faint white glow gathered into a mass, floating in front of the statue. Despite the distance, one could feel the rich Spiritual Field emanating from it.

The power of the Wizard originates from ditation.

Through ditation, Wizards absorb the omnipresent elents of nature, depositing them into the Spiritual Sea, thus forming spiritual power.

According to the formula, it’s simply ditation elent absorption = spiritual power.

ditation seems to be an indispensable step in this process.

So...

Is there a way to bypass ditation and directly absorb elents to gain spiritual power?

Or perhaps...

Have soone else ditate, while you absorb the spiritual power?

Scheming and cunning are human nature, even mortals know how to find ways to make others work hard while they reap the rewards. Wizards, too, have considered throwing the tedious and boring ditation to others and directly gaining strength growth themselves.

Therefore,

Based on this idea, Wizards conducted extensive research and finally achieved results—

Spiritual Connection.

Wizards discovered that by strongly connecting their spiritual power with others and then making a series of special adjustnts to the steps of ditation Skill, they can gain spiritual power enhancent when others ditate.

This discovery once caused a huge sensation among Wizards, and they even briefly believed that a fully automated cultivation era was imminent.

But soon Wizards discovered a problem:

Too little.

Although strong connections can indeed allow one to gain spiritual power during others’ cultivation, the obtained spiritual power is negligible. A Wizard would require countless apprentices to maintain the daily cultivation needed, which is practically unfeasible.

If apprentices don’t work, then what about humans?

Wizards originate from humans, and in a certain sense, humans themselves are Wizards without an opened Spiritual Sea. Structurally, there is not the slightest difference. If Wizards can ditate, humans surely can too.

Even in ancient tis, Wizards discovered that human spirits could be mutually transmitted and infected. When one person smiles, nearby people are also in a good mood; when one cries, those who see him feel inexplicably uncomfortable.

Thus,

So Wizards attempted to alter and package the ditation Skill to a certain extent, such as packaging it into prayers and passing them on to ordinary humans.

And the results didn’t disappoint Wizards. Unaware mortals, while praying to the Divine, established a strong spiritual connection with Wizards and thus led to spiritual power growth equivalent to an apprentice’s ditation.

This is the origin of the Faith Wizard System!

"Hoo-hoo!"

A gust of night wind suddenly blew from afar, lifting Lynch’s silver-grey long hair, and his cloak flared in the night breeze.

He lightly touched the ground with his toes, silently soaring up with the wind, reaching the front of the Statue of Light Goddess.

He stared at the statue’s face for a while: "This is good!"

He arrogantly praised his own taste and complinted the craftsman’s skill.

Then, his gaze returned to the light mass before him.

"Tsk tsk..."

When spiritual power ca into contact with the light mass, he could feel even more the richness of the Spiritual Field in this light mass, already not inferior to a Mid-level and Low-level Apprentice’s spiritual power.

And to think, it has only been days since the end of the mass.

"No wonder there were so many Wizards obsessed with this system back then, and there was even a voice advocating its standalone equal with the three major systems..."

The Faith Wizard System once was extrely popular in the Wizard World. It was categorized under the Spiritual System of the three major systems, but Wizards once considered pulling it out to stand alongside the three major systems.

This was mainly because the efficiency of the Faith System was astonishing!

Looking at the light mass before him, it’s clear that in just a few days, it has reached the strength of Low and Mid-level Wizards, and it’s still rapidly increasing. At this rate, reaching Wizard level might not take long.

Even the bloodline transformation route, known for the fastest cultivation speed in the Wizard World, seems inferior to the Faith System.

This is because the strength increase in the Faith System does not solely co from cultivation, but mainly from diffusion. The more believers there are, the more spiritual power is generated during ditation. The terror when billions of beings ditate simultaneously...

Because of this, countless Wizards practicing this system established churches everywhere on this continent and fought fiercely over believers. Various strange religious organizations cropped up, almost too nurous to count.

Gazing at the light mass before him, a touch of greed flashed in Lynch’s eyes. This was pure spiritual power essence, which he could absorb into his Spiritual Sea with just a thought, absolutely comparable to a long period of ditation.

Yet, he dared not.

There’s a saying in the Wizard World: nothing cos without a price. If sothing seems free, it surely exacts a price in so other form.

The Faith System perfectly exemplifies this saying.

Wizards, after obtaining spiritual power through faith, soon realized sothing was amiss. Using this thod did indeed draw spiritual power from humans, but other things ca along with it—

Emotions.

Humans are not mindless ditation machines. When they pray to the Divine, they inherently seek sothing from it — protection, solace, marriage, wealth, all sorts of haphazard requests, infused with intense emotions. If unanswered, they curse.

Not everyone praying to the Divine is optimistic and upbeat; pedophiles, murderers, cannibals, and even seemingly upright humans can harbor sordid perversions privately.

As ntioned before, emotions can be contagious. What consequence do you expect when such dense emotional elents flood into a Wizard’s Spiritual Sea?

Positive emotional elents are manageable, but the negative, such as grievances, curses, and malice, are devastating and indelible when they invade a Wizard’s Spiritual Sea.

Eventually, Wizards who accepted these mixed emotional elents all t the sa fate—

Madness!

No Wizard could withstand such emotional onslaught without being affected. After excessive exposure to negative emotions, Wizards’ spirits essentially collapsed, becoming deranged and losing self-awareness.

This is irreparable, Wizards tried countless thods yet couldn’t separate emotional elents from spiritual power, an insurmountable defect in this system.

Because of this defect, the Faith Wizard System has never been able to beco the mainstream system in the Wizard World.

Of course, research into the Faith System has never ceased. Even now, religious organizations occasionally spring up, with many actually being backed by Wizards practicing the Faith System.

Including even that so-called Freemasonry Church arising from the Ancient Ruins, Lynch strongly suspects it’s so Wizard dabbling with the Faith System.

But most Wizards attempting this don’t end well; after all, the Faith System’s defect is undeniable. Cultivation efficiency is inadequate with few believers, yet large-scale beliefs cannot avoid being eroded.

As of now, to Lynch’s knowledge, only a handful of Wizard Organizations have managed to maintain stability within this system, such as the Five-Ring Wizard Organization’s Truth Church, though Lynch is unclear how they achieved it, perhaps it has sothing to do with their mastery of Truth.

"What a pity..."

Shaking his head, Lynch reined in his greed. No matter how greedy he was, he wouldn’t rashly delve into realms he didn’t understand. With so many Wizards unable to master this system, he thought himself far from being a chosen one.

Nevertheless, Lynch wasn’t about to let this Power of Faith go to waste. While direct absorption was out of the question, his curiosity for research was quite ambitious, for instance—

If he didn’t absorb this power himself, but had others absorb it, and then controlled the others, wouldn’t that indirectly an he controlled this power and thereby secretly mastered this system?

So? Who should bear this faith?

If he absorbs it himself, he’d go mad; would letting others absorb it avert madness? How could a madman be controlled?

That is indeed a question.

So perhaps a different approach, if the faith couldn’t be absorbed, then by instilling a consciousness into it, forming a new independent entity, could it be controlled indirectly?

Lynch didn’t know, but he thought it was a topic worth in-depth study. After all, should this be achieved, it could be a remarkable transformation,

as well as achieving the pinnacle of his professional field of Biological Transformation—

God!
