"Thank you for your understanding."
Richard slightly bowed, but his voice was as cold as a machine.
At this mont, he only felt an unparalleled clarity in his mind, where chaotic thoughts were arranged systematically.
He knew very clearly that he was currently treading the right path.
The evolution of physique stems from survival, and the evolution of spirit stems from rationality. The combination of the two is a purely rational evolver, a creature truly at the pinnacle of the pyramid—sothing akin to a Civilization Devourer.
Yet, concurrently, he also realized this was not the only path.
If the path of the Civilization Devourer was the only one, then he shouldn’t have been defeated by the imperfect King of Titans.
"Is humanity really so important?"
A question flashed through Richard’s mind.
If he abandoned this path, his choice might not be correct.
And to him, being incorrect ant death, or even the annihilation of the entire Civilization Alliance.
"Of course, humanity is important."
Richard spoke to himself in this way.
"Without humanity, my most correct choice back then would have been to abandon the Miracle Furnace and stay away from this damned place.
Humanity drove who I am now.
If I abandon humanity, then I would have betrayed my past self."
Richard didn’t know if his answer ca from rational thinking or the faint struggle of humanity remaining in his soul.
But this is his answer.
He must not forsake humanity, abandoning that seemingly imperfect trait to seek the absolutely perfect evolver.
"It’s coming."
While Richard was reflecting on his thoughts and inner self, the Dinsional Incarnation had already brought the Calculation Chip.
The chip looked quite unremarkable, rely the size of an ordinary person’s palm. Yet, when Richard’s gaze fell upon it, he saw nearly endless intricate structures.
The structure of this chip resembled the existence of a Peano curve. Within this limited area of the chip, Richard saw nearly endless minute structures.
"The Supre differs from the Titans. Titans like grand things; they love continents, mountains and rivers, star realm whales akin to worlds, and this nearly infinite star realm.
The Supre, on the other hand, prefers small things.
They advance to the deepest layer of the world, constantly exploring its smallest structure. This ideology also influenced the Civilization Treasure."
"So, it’s infinite?" Richard virtually exclaid.
In this almost emotionless state, he could still make such an exclamation, which sufficiently indicated how much shock this thing brought him.
"Almost infinite," the Dinsional Incarnation corrected, "except for the Endless Dinsion and the Star Realm, nothing is infinite.
The Supre has confird that the chip must have a limit. However, this limit ans nothing to us.
Unless we beco higher-level beings, we can never reach this boundary."
Richard took the chip, and upon touching it, he felt a tremor.
This tremor seed to originate from his soul, no, it ca from sothing deeper.
This tremor ca from his destiny!
"Are there accessories too?"
Richard said with a blank expression, then imdiately connected his soul with the chip.
In an instant, Richard felt as if he gained another self. The chip seed to replicate him, or simulate him.
"No wonder it’s an accurate doubling."
With an enhancent in computational power, Richard’s efficiency directly doubled. There’s no trickery in the soul structure; it could only be built with the purest computational power. Richard needed to simulate new soul structures bit by bit, based on various already-identified soul structures, experiences and models summarized by several civilizations over the years.
This is a tedious and lengthy process, but there wasn’t a hint of emotion within Richard’s heart.
His soul operated like a machine, precisely executing his will, with not a trace of influence throughout the process.
"Is this the state of that monster? Near-absolute rationality, near-absolute execution of will... truly a monster."
The calculation continued for a long ti, but fortunately, the Civilization Devourer had paused its assault, and the Wizard Alliance was training new troops and investing all efforts into military production and research, leaving Richard with no major tasks.
Three years passed in the blink of an eye.
In the Furnace Man Dinsion, Richard sat cross-legged on the ground, the space around him expanding and contracting with his almost imperceptible breathing.
During these three years, Richard attempted nine hundred and fifty-two models, and failed nine hundred and fifty-two tis.
However, each failure brought Richard closer to the result he sought.
"The nine hundred and fifty-third reconstruction begins."
Richard murmured the experint count without any emotional ripple in his heart, then imdiately plunged his full concentration into the reconstruction of the soul structure.
The soul is a vital component most creatures possess in this world. It’s the source of consciousness and the precise control dium and bridge of energy in life.
Therefore, in every civilization, there are sages dedicated to soul research.
In the Wizard Alliance, the civilization with the deepest soul research is the Eye Demons, who recently joined the alliance.
Their symbiotic relationship with particles and their innate talents allow them to delve deeply into soul research.
In the research conducted by the Eye Demons, the soul is a manifestation of soul particle aggregation, but it differs from the characteristics of soul particles. It’s sowhat similar to wave-particle duality, where soul particles are particles, but when they aggregate, they present the "soul" as a wave.
By changing the structure, the properties exhibited by the soul can also change.
The most basic of these structural changes is the soul transformation during ascension, followed by the developnt of Soul Talent.
The Eye Demons’ research is very advanced; they can completely transform a creature’s soul into that of another type of creature, or engrave a certain magic onto the soul that is directly passed down genetically.
Out of gratitude to Richard and for the exchange of technology, the Eye Demons shared a large batch of soul research materials with Richard and the Wizard Alliance.
So of these top-secret materials, which only Richard can see, record technologies even more advanced than those of the Predecessor Civilization Alliance.
This signifies the important aning of exchange between civilizations.
Accompanying Richard’s entry into the state, he simultaneously observes his soul from both first-person and third-person perspectives.
This perspective is peculiar, equivalent to Richard being able to see both the inside and outside of his soul simultaneously, with the two images overlapping.
After nurous adjustnts, Richard’s soul structure has undergone a significant transformation compared to before; it has beco almost pieced together through trials.
But now, this state has changed.
If Richard’s soul could be described as sothing, it would be a primitive magnetic core storage device, essentially a woven-like thing.
Of course, this is rely a taphor.
In this state, Richard’s soul can retain rationality while possessing the ability to generate and feel emotions. Additionally, his computational power will greatly increase.
However, until now, Richard has only achieved retaining rationality and a substantial increase in computational power, but there are still problems regarding his initial goal—to retain humanity.
Of course, this does not an Richard cannot feel emotions. Instead, in this structure, the soul structure tremors caused by emotions are magnified tens to hundreds of tis.
Emotions that might originally just be slightly saddened could now feel as if life is aningless.
This clearly is not the outco Richard wanted.
Under Richard’s thoughts, his complex soul structure begins to change. The thread structure starts to vary, and the woven structure undergoes alterations.
As a master of Dinsional Thread Weaving Technique, Richard has great insight into threads and weaving.
This is also why he has fashioned his soul structure in this manner.
Due to having tried over nine hundred tis, Richard’s operations are now smooth and effortless. Initially, these operations would take him one or two days or even over a week, but now he can complete them within a few minutes.
This is also why he’s able to perform this many attempts in two years.
With the interweaving threads, and structural adjustnts, the new threads appear thicker and less prone to violent tremors. Furthermore, nurous nodes are added to the woven structure to make the overall structure highly resistant to tremors.
Under this structure, intense soul tremors are greatly attenuated.
Of course, this is only in comparison to before.
Compared to his original soul, the emotions Richard now experiences are still intense.
"This is enough."
Richard opens his eyes, his voice although cold, conveys a hint of humanity, no longer the entirely chanical monster sound from before.
Dinsional Incarnation arrives by his side as he opens his eyes; clearly, Dinsional Incarnation has been monitoring this chosen one.
Its voice carries a touch of admiration.
"A new generation surpasses the old; I can’t see through you anymore."
Richard calmly replies, "That’s normal because my soul has been hidden by the dinsion."
"When will you break limits?" Dinsional Incarnation asks.
After two years of adjustnt, Richard’s soul structure has been almost completely reconstructed. The remaining bit of structure is precisely his original soul structure, now the anchor point of this structure.
And breaking limits ans breaking this anchor point.
If successful, Richard’s soul will be completely liberated. But if he fails, his soul will gather in the most primitive structure, starting all over again.
"Prepare the ceremony and begin."
Saying this, Richard intends to notify Old Abel to prepare materials.
But just as he is about to notify, an external ntal fluctuation suddenly penetrates his ticulously prepared soul, directly entering his soul.
Richard frowned slightly, imdiately starting to search for the source of this soul fluctuation.
His soul defense is not false; the fact that sothing penetrated it suggests there’s a backdoor in his defense. And upon searching, Richard quickly discovered the source of that soul fluctuation.
"Ghost God Mask?"
Richard was shocked inwardly and imdiately began searching in his Dinsion Space.
Soon, a chalk continuously emitting soul fluctuations appeared before him.
"Damn, there’s a Ghostly World issue!"
