The war had reached its third day, and Beast Kings had appeared in almost every battle zone.
So zones even saw multiple Beast Kings.
Fortunately, the wizards present were no pushovers, even the newly promoted ones had considerable fighting power.
But as the intensity of the war increased, the situation quietly began to change.
BOOM!
White-purple lightning struck down from the clouds, then was drawn by the Magic Wand, transforming into a Thunderstorm Giant Snake hundreds of ters long.
The sky was covered with dark clouds, and the Thunderstorm Giant Snake moved as if it had life through the clouds, eventually coiling into a mass. In the center, the Great Wizard titled as Extinction Thunder stared intently at the magic beast ahead.
In front of him, a giant eagle with a wingspan of five hundred ters was slowly flapping its wings.
The eagle’s feathers were golden yellow, each feather carrying a tallic texture, much like gold forged. However, upon this golden body were a pair of silver eyes.
"Wind Elent Rule, tal Rule, and Space Rules..."
The Extinction Thunder Great Wizard looked at the giant eagle in front of him, silently calculating the intelligence he had already gathered.
He was a new wizard, and compared to the seasoned old wizards, his battle experience was not rich, and his knowledge background was even less. Therefore, on the path of enhancing fighting power, he chose a different route.
The old wizards of the past often emphasized the word "breadth" when researching.
Because of the principle of confidentiality, wizards kept their knowledge secret, making research exceptionally troubleso.
Without Richard’s financial resources and connections, many wizards often had to research a discipline thoroughly on their own.
But in this era, such a research thod is tantamount to courting death.
In this age of war, ti is life. Wizards must devote their precious ti to research that can quickly enhance their strength and survival ability.
Therefore, the research of new wizards is often narrow but specialized.
The Extinction Thunder Great Wizard followed the path of the new wizard; he gave up the in-depth study of the Thunder Rules he mastered, instead focusing on how to use rules to assist witchcraft.
This research thod is challenging in creating new witchcraft, but it significantly boosts a wizard’s strength in a short ti.
For instance, now, even though the Extinction Thunder Great Wizard had only been recently promoted to a Great Wizard for decades, he could fight back and forth with this Level 5 Giant Eagle using Thunder Magic alone.
"... The intelligence is sufficient."
The Extinction Thunder Great Wizard looked at the giant eagle, waved his Magic Wand fiercely. Under his manipulation, the Thunderstorm Giant Snake suddenly bit towards the giant eagle.
BOOM!
The giant eagle’s body suddenly disappeared. Only a claw tearing through space dashed directly at the Extinction Thunder Great Wizard’s head.
"Heh heh, I knew you would do that."
The Extinction Thunder Great Wizard let out a strange laugh, as the tail of the attacking Thunderstorm Giant Snake coiled fiercely around the golden claw of the giant eagle.
"Fool, while this thing looks like a snake, it is essentially Thunder. Its tail and head are purely decorations to deceive others."
Hit by the Thunderstorm Giant Snake, the giant eagle’s body appeared from the void, continuously emitting lightning.
Black smoke continuously emanated from its beak.
A trace of pride appeared on the face of the Extinction Thunder Great Wizard; a Four Rings Great Wizard slaying a Level 5 creature was sothing worth boasting about. But before his smile fully blood, the golden giant eagle’s body trembled fiercely, and an angry eagle cry resounded through the sky, even shattering space.
Beside him, the Extinction Thunder Great Wizard was shaken dizzy by this cry. Before he could recover, the golden giant eagle’s beak was already coming straight for his skull.
BANG!
A bronze spear descended from the sky, pinning the golden giant eagle in the air the instant before its beak pierced the Extinction Thunder Great Wizard’s skull.
"Sigh, I knew newcors are prone to arrogance."
The voice of the Bronze Spear Great Wizard echoed from the spear, making the stunned face of the Extinction Thunder Great Wizard heat up—even if his body had already been transford into a semi-elental creature.
The sa scene kept playing out in different battle zones, with the nurous Beast Kings often forcing the wizards into situations where they had to fight multiple enemies at once, or even combat higher-level foes.
No matter which battlefield, the wizards always seed to be on the side with fewer people.
...
"Squawk, I say, you may not act!"
In the sky of the Second Battle Zone, a black beast burning with Black Fla suddenly shone with a Holy Light that did not match its aura.
Opposite it, a Wind Elent Lord, whose body was now mostly transford into flesh, stood motionless due to the power of Divine Speech Skill.
The next mont, a brilliant light pierced through the flesh-transford Elent Core of the Wind Giant Spirit.
Not far away, Richard hovered in the air in perfect human form. Under the authority of the Radiation Rule, the energy within hundreds of kiloters was converging towards him.
"How many more, Ulysses."
Richard’s voice was as steady as a mountain, but within it, Ulysses detected a well-concealed wisp of fatigue.
Richard was still human; even with the dual assistance of the Radiation Rule and perfect human form, the toll of battle had left him sowhat exhausted in body and mind.
The war had been ongoing for half a year, during which Richard had hardly rested. The Beast Kings erging from the rifts grew increasingly cunning and powerful.
They no longer acted alone, instead attacking Richard in packs. If Richard did not appear, destroying a fortress city was not much harder for them than devouring a Magic Beast.
"Caw, this is the last one. For now..."
Ulysses’ voice carried fatigue as well; battles of this caliber were no longer like shooting fish in a barrel. The half-year-long conflict had left his spirit sowhat weary.
"The last one... It wasn’t easy."
Richard exhaled, although his body showed no signs of change, his aura seed utterly drained.
He glanced at the quartz vial on his waist; the liquid ford by the Power of Dinsion from the Beast Origin inside was about to fill the entire test tube.
"My master, have you finished your battle?"
Elderly’s voice suddenly resonated in Richard’s ear. During these days, Elderly wandered between various fortress cities, constantly devouring Magic Beasts to alleviate the pressure on the native soldiers.
With such unrestrained devouring, Elderly’s size had swollen to an inconceivable extent. If fully unfolded, it could cover half the battlefield of a fortress city.
"It’s over for now."
Richard looked toward the distant Space Rift, sensing no new Beast Kings approaching the area.
With the affirmative reply, Elderly flew to Richard’s side, respectfully speaking, "My master, I have a question to ask you. I feel my body has reached its limit. No matter how much I swallow, my form cannot effectively expand.
It feels as if an invisible barrier is restricting the growth of my form."
Richard raised an eyebrow, "You are likely about to ascend to a Level 4 Creature."
"Ascend to a Level 4 Creature?"
Elderly was not unfamiliar with the theory of Level 9 Creatures, but it had not expected that a life form like itself could fit into this system.
"The theory of Level 9 Creatures has universal applicability in the Star Realm. Even as a Gestalt Creature, you are not exempt from it," Richard contemplated, "However, I’ve never seen a Gestalt Creature ascend before, so you will likely have to explore the path on your own."
"I see."
Elderly nodded slightly, about to say more. But before it could speak, its body suddenly scattered and flew behind Richard.
It was as if it had sensed sothing terrifying.
Richard abruptly looked at the distant Space Rift, his face solemn like a statue of a warrior.
Ulysses landed on Richard’s shoulder, his eyes radiant with Holy Light.
"Caw, a big one has arrived."
The dreadful aura constantly emanating from the rift stirred the magic power within Richard, and his body began to enlarge once more.
"Indeed, a big one."
In the distance, from within the rift, a giant serpent as massive as a mountain slowly erged. Under its enormous form, the fortress city at Richard’s feet appeared like a toy model.
The giant serpent’s huge vertical pupils looked at Richard, or more precisely, at the vial on Richard’s waist filled with the Power of Dinsion from nurous Beast Kings.
"Outsider, you shall beco my food and transform into a part of my body."
Facing the serpent, Richard felt even his breath beca uneasy.
"A Level 6 Creature, and a top-tier Level 6 Creature at that. Luck isn’t on my side."
Though the disparity in strength between the Lord of Civilized World and the Lord of Magical Beast World was vast, allowing the forr to even surpass levels to challenge the latter.
However, such level-surfing was limited.
And this serpent before him exceeded that limit.
Relying on the Life Rule and the Wild Intuition from Physique Evolution, Richard could clearly feel that its physical constitution was at the peak of Level 6 Creatures, its body parts evolved to an extrely perfect state.
Its scales were woven by rules into an illusory material, its muscles combined strength, agility, and endurance, its bodily systems functioning as precisely as a chanical clock, perfectly maintaining the operations of its body, and doing so very efficiently.
Frankly speaking, this serpent was the second most perfect creature Richard had ever seen—the first being the Physique Crown.
"Master, the Second Battle Zone needs assistance."
The magic power within Richard subtly surged, transforming his Spiritual ssage into a Magic Wave, transmitting it to the signal tower. But soon, Richard sensed sothing amiss.
"Not right, the energy is flowing!"
Suddenly, Richard realized that the energy around him, and even around the entire fortress city, was slowly flowing.
This flow was exceedingly slow, yet unstoppable. The Magic Wave from the signal tower weakened so much in this flowing magic power that it could barely reach far.
"Richard, what’s going on?"
Ulysses noticed Richard’s unease and asked in confusion.
Richard looked at the serpent and took a deep breath.
"The information can’t get through. We probably have to handle this serpent ourselves."
