Chapter 84: Chapter 81: How to Build a Sniper Rifle in a Dorm
Apprentice Trading Market.
Allen walked into a shop called "Artisan’s Workshop."
This was a favorite haunt for apprentices of the alchemy school, specializing in the sale of high-precision processing tools.
"I need a Micro-Engraving Light Pen with an etching precision of fifty microters or less, and its energy output must be stable."
Allen spoke to the shop owner, who was behind the counter wiping down a component.
The shop owner looked up, sized Allen up, and noticed the Advanced Apprentice Robe that signified his affiliation with the alchemy school. The lazy expression on his face receded slightly.
"Fifty microters? That’s a pretty high standard."
The owner chuckled, pulling a pen from under the counter. "The ’Firefly’ series. Elven craftsmanship, stable output with a peak fluctuation of no more than 0.5 percent, and precision down to thirty microters. As for the price..."
He held up two thick, short fingers. "Two hundred Low-Level Magic Stones."
Allen ignored the price and continued to ask, "What material is its energy-focusing lens made of? Does it use a standard Magic Crystal or a special type?"
The owner’s expression turned serious. He knew he was dealing with an expert.
"Standard high-purity Magic Crystal, but the lens group has been polished and enchanted three tis to ensure the purity of the beam."
"I’ll take it." Allen nodded. "And a small grinding machine, one with a cooling Rune Array and three different grit wheels."
"One hundred and twenty Magic Stones."
Allen paid a total of three hundred and twenty Low-Level Magic Stones and placed the two brand-new precision tools into his Space Ring.
Afterward, he headed straight for the materials district.
He found Black Mountain Iron in a shop that specialized in tal materials.
This tallic ore had an unremarkable appearance, presenting a dull, grayish-black color.
"Black Mountain Iron Ingot, six kilograms."
"Six kilograms? What are you planning to do, young man? This stuff is heavy and inert. Other than for ballast or shaping practice, it’s not much good for anything."
The shopkeeper, a stocky Dwarf, grumbled.
"An experint," Allen said, keeping it brief.
"Alright. Ten Low-Level Magic Stones a kilogram. Sixty in total."
After paying, Allen spent another fifty Magic Stones to procure fifty grams of Demon-guiding tal Liquid.
The substance’s magical conductivity and stability were second only to Mithril, making it an excellent material for engraving permanent Rune Arrays.
It cost him fifty Magic Stones.
Next was the Blackwood for the gunstock, hard and densely grained, for five Magic Stones.
The most critical materials were for the scope.
In a gem shop, he purchased two sheets of High-Purity Optical Crystal, used for etching magic models, at a price of twenty Magic Stones each.
Finally, he arrived at a shop specializing in unique biological materials.
"An Eye of the Fire Salamander, the finished crystalline lens. I need one."
The shop owner was a tall, skinny man.
He took out a glass jar filled with green preservative fluid, inside which was a dark red crystal about the size of a pigeon’s egg.
"Eighty Low-Level Magic Stones, non-negotiable. This thing is hard to preserve. Once you take it out, you have to process it within two hours."
"Alright."
The last item on his shopping list was crossed off.
Allen moved through the crowd in the trading market, his consciousness sinking into DSeek.
[Financial Status Update]
[Total expenditure for this purchase: 550 Low-Level Magic Stones]
[Current account balance: 3,405 Low-Level Magic Stones]
[Activated loan limit 1,350/50,000].
This expenditure was within his expectations.
To create a weapon that surpassed the understanding of this era, a significant upfront investnt was a necessary cost.
Including the crystal from the Micro-Light Scale Armor Beast, the material costs alone for the Alchemy Sniper Rifle had already reached 1,150.
He didn’t feel the slightest bit of regret, confident that these Magic Stones would one day return his investnt in another, more powerful form.
Leaving the trading market, Allen reached an open area. With a thought, the black "Nightwing Type-3" Hoverboard appeared beneath his feet. The board rose silently, transforming into a black streak of light as it sped toward the Black Tower of the Forge.
Back in dorm room #21 on the fifth floor, the first thing Allen did was draw the heavy curtains and set up a simple warning Rune at the door.
After so minor rearranging, his dorm’s living room was transford into a small workshop.
He walked up to the half-man-high "Precision Model I" Alchemy Machine, took a deep breath, and completely cald his restless thoughts.
He activated the device. The Middle-tier Magic Stone Energy source embedded in the energy slot on the machine’s side was still plentiful.
Light spread along the Energy Circuits on the machine’s surface, and the entire apparatus emitted a low hum as a pale blue energy field stabilized in the work area.
Allen didn’t start imdiately. He closed his eyes and went over the design blueprint for the "Judgent" in DSeek one last ti, confirming every detail, every dinsion.
After confirming everything was correct, he opened his eyes, his gaze becoming focused and sharp.
He placed the five-kilogram Black Mountain Iron Ingot in the center of the energy field.
Allen extended his hands, hovering them over the machine’s control panel. His Spiritual Power reached out, taking over the machine’s Control Core.
The energy field’s power gradually increased, and the surface of the levitating Black Mountain Iron Ingot began to glow red.
A portion of the ingot was flattened and stretched, forming the main fra of the firearm.
The remaining material split into dozens of small parts, including the trigger assembly, the stock structure, and the pre-ford tactical rails.
In less than ten minutes, a pile of smooth, complete firearm components levitated above the workbench, their non-slip textures perfectly straight and clear.
Step one, gun body fabrication, was complete.
Next was the part of the entire manufacturing process that most tested one’s skill and Spiritual Power—micro-structuring and Rune etching.
Allen walked over to another workbench specifically designed for precision work. He cast [Craftsman’s Hand]. A semi-transparent arm ford at his side.
’This isn’t enough.’
With a thought, the first thread in his Sea of Spirit was activated.
Another [Craftsman’s Hand] appeared.
Two force hands, like the most precise chanical arms, awaited their master’s command.
Allen’s main consciousness controlled the right force hand to precisely align the Demon-guiding Liquid onto the energy chamber that was about to be etched.
The first thread operated the left force hand, which picked up the newly purchased "Firefly Type-3" Micro-Engraving Light Pen. A point of extrely fine green light glowed at its tip.
His own hands steadily held the core component of the firearm—the module connecting the energy chamber and the crystal.
The DSeek virtual interface unfolded in Allen’s vision, projecting the design blueprint before his eyes.
Allen’s breathing beca long and faint.
The light pen, under the control of his main consciousness, moved.
The green tip glided across the inner wall of the Black Mountain Iron, leaving a groove thinner than a strand of hair.
This was the first Rune node of the "Flow-Stabilizing Array."
His Spiritual Power was highly concentrated, controlling the output of Magic Power, ensuring that every ounce of energy was just right, every second of the way.
[WARNING: Spiritual Power output fluctuation exceeds 5%. Please be mindful of error...]
A red notification from DSeek flashed by.
Allen imdiately recentered his focus, and the light pen’s trajectory beca smooth once more.
At the sa ti he was etching, the force hand controlled by the first thread had already dripped the Demon-guiding tal Liquid, which solidified perfectly in the freshly ford groove.
Engrave, embed. Engrave again, embed again.
Allen was like a surgeon performing brain surgery. His main consciousness was responsible for the incision, his first thread for implanting the nerves, and DSeek was the high-precision dical device monitoring all vital signs and providing real-ti surgical navigation.
Ti ticked by, second by second.
The only sound in the dorm room was the nearly inaudible HISS of the Micro-Engraving Light Pen’s tip as it released energy.
Fine beads of sweat ford on Allen’s forehead. Maintaining dual-threaded operation and a high-intensity output of Spiritual Power was a huge challenge even for him.
Half an hour later, the "Flow-Stabilizing Array" was complete.
Next was the activation module’s magic coding structure. He captured a small, unique fluctuation from his Will Rune, converted it into a micro-Rune, and carefully branded it on the inside of the trigger sensor area.
With the gun’s body finished, he began to work on the scope.
He placed the two sets of High-Purity Optical Crystals on the grinder, setting the curvature and thickness according to DSeek’s precise calculations.
A force hand manipulated the crystals, grinding them against the high-speed rotating Magic Energy Sand Wheel.
Once the lenses were polished, the Micro-Engraving Light Pen was brought to bear again.
This ti, he had to miniaturize and etch the two complete magic models of "Sensory Enhancent—Vision" and "Detect Magic Power" onto the two lenses, respectively.
This was an order of magnitude more difficult than simply etching a Rune Array.
Finally, there was the crystalline lens from the "Eye of the Fire Salamander."
After being processed, it was carefully embedded in the fra of the third lens group, secured firmly, and connected to a miniature energy-activation Rune.
All components were now fabricated.
On the workbench, the gun body, stock, energy chamber, activation module, and the three separate scope lens groups were arranged neatly, like works of art.
Allen let out a long breath and dismissed the [Craftsman’s Hand].
The black gun body connected perfectly with the other components, emitting a crisp CLICK.
The Blackwood Gunstock was installed, the angle of the cheek plate just right.
The energy chamber was placed inside the gun’s body. He carefully inserted the Rhombic Crystal from the Micro-Light Scale Armor Beast into the core slot, where it fit seamlessly against the "Flow-Stabilizing Array" behind it.
Finally, he mounted the modular tactical scope onto the rail above the gun’s body.
This cold, lethal work of art was finally complete.
Its entire body presented the characteristic matte black of Black Mountain Iron, its straight lines and hard angles exuding a sense of power.
There were no superfluous decorations; every structure, every groove, existed purely for function.
Compared to the ornate Magic Staffs of Wizards, this weapon appeared understated and cold, but its tallic texture and precise construction radiated a completely different, heart-pounding sense of danger.
[Judgent Magic Sniper Rifle]
Allen reached out and gripped it.
The ergonomic grip fit his palm perfectly, a cold sensation spreading from his hand.
He pressed the stock to his shoulder, adjusted its length, and gently rested his cheek against the cheek plate.
Raising the gun, he aid through the dorm window at the white spire of the administrative center, far off in the night sky.
He brought his eye to the scope.
In his vision, the world instantly changed.
