Hmm? i Lun!

Carl’s gaze shifted slightly. Ignoring the cavalryn who were coming over to thank him, he quickly dashed towards the City Lord’s mansion.

A mont later, he appeared on the city wall, landing beside the blood-soaked i Lun.

"You’re just a Great Knight. Even if you have so tricks, coming here is too dangerous." Carl shook his head. "Where are my things?"

i Lun forced a smile.

Although he was a Great Knight, his true strength was not inferior to that of a Legendary Knight; otherwise, he wouldn’t have such a great reputation. Of course, in Carl’s eyes, this level of strength was indeed insignificant.

It seed now that sneaking into the City Lord’s mansion had been a terrible decision; he had almost not made it out alive.

Demigod blood! It seems it’s not fated for .

"Here."

Pulling out a heavy cloth bag, i Lun shook his head and sighed. "Inside this City Lord’s mansion, there is a kind of invisible monster. You should be careful when you go in."

"However, compared to the monsters, people are even more dangerous!"

He glanced at his own injuries, and his eyes imdiately dimd.

He had not been alone on this trip but part of a small team. Strife arose just as they entered the inner city.

Thinking back now, it was clear soone had orchestrated it.

Fortunately, he had recognized the dire situation and escaped in ti. Otherwise, he would have left his skin in the city today.

"’An invisible monster?’" Carl asked, taking the cloth bag. "’Got it.’"

"’And the Fanatic Potion...’" i Lun continued. "’Prices for such potions have dropped, so it will be much harder to exchange them for Great Divine Grace.’"

"No matter." Carl waved his hand. "The price doesn’t matter, as long as I can get Great Divine Grace."

"Right! Do you have a map of the City Lord’s mansion? Do you know where places like a treasure vault might be?"

"..." i Lun’s mouth twitched. "’Yes, but it’s not complete.’"

"’Anyway, I’m not going back in there, so I’ll give it to you.’"

His main job was as an information trader, so he had definitely made a lot of preparations for this mission.

Taking the blueprint i Lun handed him, Carl unfolded it casually and compared it with the areas he had explored.

Sowhat useful, but not by much!

After seeing i Lun off, Carl then focused on himself.

Ninety-two Great Divine Graces, besides expanding his Divine Domain Fragnt space, also provided him with 9.2 Source Material.

Plus the gains from killing the Red-eyed Shark People.

So...

Source Material: 10!

It was an unprecedented amount, causing Carl’s breath to quicken. He subsequently allocated it all to Constitution.

Constitution: 14.5!

Just a little more, and I’ll reach the First Rank Late Stage!

* * *

The City Lord’s mansion was divided into the inner city and the outer city.

The outer city had long beco a habitat for Shark People and various fierce beasts, but entering the inner city brought a sudden stillness.

TAP.

Crisp footsteps echoed through the pitch-black corridor.

Several figures slowly erged. One of them reached out to touch the corridor wall, a look of disgust imdiately appearing on his face.

"’Ugh, sticky! What is this stuff?’"

"’It must be so kind of secretion from a creature,’ a man holding a long knife said in a low voice."

"’Be careful, sothing is very wrong here!’"

"’Anyone with sense can see sothing’s off!’ another person exclaid."

"’Speaking of Sodan, the City Lord of Freedom Port, does he have so kind of problem? Why make his own residence so gloomy and terrifying?’"

SWOOSH!

A dark shadow quickly flashed past their eyes.

"’What was that?’"

"’Be careful!’"

THUD!

THUD! THUD!

Accompanied by several muffled sounds, the figures exploring the inner city fell one after another, blood flowing along the ground.

Before long, footsteps sounded again.

Timid Matthew gripped a bone staff, cautiously moving through the corridor.

"’There won’t be any trouble, right?’"

"’Don’t worry!’" At his waist, a blue seashell vibrated lightly, emitting a faint sound. "’See the sli on the wall? It’s bodily fluid secreted by First Order Creatures, the Red Annelids. They won’t move once they’re full.’"

"’What if they aren’t full?’" Matthew’s voice trembled. "’I’ll die!’"

"’Why are you so timid?’" the seashell said, exasperated. "’The Red Annelids eat very little, and the bone staff in your hand can repel them. Don’t worry.’"

Upon hearing this, Matthew’s nervousness slightly eased.

He was originally just an ordinary young boy from Freedom Port, who, to seek refuge, had been brought back to Jiliu City by Carl.

By chance, he found the seashell at his waist on the beach, and since then, his fate had taken a drastic turn.

"’By the way...’" Matthew asked quietly, "’what exactly are you?’"

"’I’ve told you, I can’t rember clearly,’ the seashell said. ’I vaguely recall that I was a Three-Circle Wizard. I was injured and hid inside a painting, waiting for soone fated to rescue . Later, it seems soone passed the test of the lady in the painting. However, they then sealed again and threw into the sea. Fortunately, I had so tricks up my sleeve; I managed to split off a wisp of my consciousness and attach it to this seashell, which you then picked up.’"

Hmm... If that’s the case, I’m just a wisp of thought from my main body. No wonder I’ve forgotten so many things.

"’Wizard?’" Matthew blinked. "’What’s a Wizard?’"

"’I don’t know either,’ the seashell said, its voice tinged with confusion. ’There’s sothing wrong with your world. It suppresses beings above the First Order and even devours the main body’s spiritual power. Right now, I’m just a flawed remnant with a muddled consciousness...’"

"’So, you must beco a First Circle Wizard as soon as possible. Only then can you find my main body at the bottom of the sea.’"

Matthew pursed his lips.

The most common folk tales in this world were about rescuing Demons or Evil Gods, only to bring disaster upon oneself.

In his mind, the ’main body’ the seashell spoke of was very likely an Evil God; otherwise, why would soone else have sealed it and thrown it into the sea?

Fortunately, the seashell’s ’mind’ wasn’t very clear. He decided to humor it for now and focus on learning its abilities first.
