After making their rounds at the market, the small group of four gathered again, the atmosphere growing sowhat oppressive.

"Anglie," Lu Ya began to speak, "I think we still need to make a trip to those ruins. Just the floating stones we saw on the periphery are enough for us to make a hefty profit."

"You saw it too. With the Magic Stones we currently have, there’s no way we can afford the Green Potion."

"It’s too dangerous there." Anglie was the leader of the four-person team and the only Advanced Wizard Apprentice.

His body had once been burned by fierce flas. This not only marred his face but also made his voice hoarse, which was why Lu Ya usually handled their external communications.

"Specters roam around the ruins—they’re the bane of Knights, and even Wizards don’t have many ways to deal with them."

"I think..." Anglie advocated caution, "We should postpone it for now."

"Brother Anglie," Ash said, shaking his head, "The ruins haven’t been discovered by anyone else yet. We can get a head start. If soone else finds them... then there’ll be nothing left for us!"

"As long as you advance to an Official Wizard, all our investnts will pay off."

Gerry remained silent. She hadn’t been with the team for long, and her relationship wasn’t as close as that of the other three. Plus, she was a new Great Knight.

Going to the ruins... it’s too dangerous for a Knight!

"I agree with Ash," Lu Ya spoke up. "Those are undiscovered ruins! Many people search their entire lives for such an opportunity and never find one. If we miss this, we’ll definitely regret it."

"Anglie, don’t you want to get your hands on the Green Potion?"

"What if there are materials inside that contain primal essence? Ash, Gerry, you might also have the chance to beco Legendary Knights!"

This ti, Gerry’s eyes flickered. Becoming Legendary was every Knight’s dream, not just for the increase in strength but also for the extension of life. Who wouldn’t want to live a hundred years longer? However, compared to a Wizard Apprentice advancing to beco a Wizard, the difficulty for a Great Knight to beco a Legendary Knight was much greater.

"What do you all think?" Anglie looked at the others. Two of them were resolute, while Gerry was still undecided.

"Alright then!" He gritted his teeth and began to make arrangents. "Since we’ve decided to explore the ruins, we must prepare thoroughly, especially for items that can restrain specters."

"Soul-Repelling Powder, Light Seals..."

"These items aren’t cheap. We have forty Magic Stones we can use, and I’ll contribute ten more."

「...」

The four split into two groups to shop. Lu Ya led Gerry through the twists and turns of the market. To Gerry’s astonishnt, Lu Ya knocked on the door of a house. Entering, she spoke respectfully to the Wizard inside, "Honored Wizard, I would like to borrow so Magic Stones from you."

"Lu Ya!" Gerry exclaid, grabbing her arm in shock. "Have you lost your mind?"

"I’m not crazy." Lu Ya frowned. "We don’t have enough Magic Stones. Do you have another way?"

Fifty Magic Stones was a decent amount, but for this expedition, it still seed sowhat insufficient. Soul-Repelling Powder cost one Magic Stone per small pack. Lu Ya estimated they’d need at least twenty packs. The Seals were even more expensive.

"Oh?" The Wizard in the room raised an eyebrow and erged from a shadowy corner, revealing a body as desiccated as a mummy.

"So, it’s the lovely Lu Ya. I do like your pure, unaltered body—not transford by that disgusting Bloodline Magic."

"A loan? How much?"

"Fifty Magic Stones!" Lu Ya said, clenching her teeth. "I’ll repay you within three months."

"Fifty Magic Stones?" The Wizard sneered, a twisted smile on his lips. "You know the rules. If you can’t repay the Magic Stones on ti, your body and soul will belong to ."

"I know," Lu Ya said, inhaling deeply. "I will repay you."

"I’d rather hope you can’t," the Wizard paced closer, a foul, rotten stench emanating from him. He leaned close to Lu Ya, sniffing near her body, his withered yellow hair swinging back and forth as he whispered, "For a mid-level Wizard Apprentice like you, fifty Magic Stones is a significant sum. Perhaps you’ll need to pay a little extra to take them from ."

"Extra?" Lu Ya turned pale. "What kind of extra paynt?"

"I may be old, but I’m still a man," the Wizard began. "When I encounter a pure maiden, my heart still flutters. So... she stays for one night."

Saying this, he pointed at Gerry.

The "pure maiden" he referred to was not the voluptuous Lu Ya, but the slender Gerry.

Lu Ya’s eyes flickered. She instinctively looked towards Gerry, only to see her companion shaking her head, face utterly pale with horror.

Fifty Magic Stones!

Lu Ya bit her lip, then suddenly grasped Gerry’s arm. "Let’s go!"

BANG! The two won burst through the door and sprinted towards the street outside, Lu Ya glancing back in panic.

"Lu Ya!" Gerry’s voice was choked with sobs. "Thank you!"

For a mont, she had feared Lu Ya would betray her. If she really had to spend a night with that disgusting Wizard, she would rather die.

"Thank for what?" Lu Ya shook her head. "I’m the one who dragged you into this. Now isn’t the ti for thanks. That maniac might not let us off so easily."

Fighting was forbidden in the market, but as far as she knew, certain covert thods wouldn’t trigger the area’s rules. Moreover, ever since they’d left that room, she’d felt a chilling presence doggedly pursuing them.

Unless... "Into a shop!"

Each shop had its owner, and that madman wouldn’t dare provoke other Wizards lightly.

The two won dashed into a shop, their steps faltering abruptly.

"Oh?" Carl, who was tidying up the place, raised an eyebrow and looked at the two won. "What’s this? You’ve brought the floatstone already?"

"No, not that," Lu Ya said with an awkward smile. Then, suddenly biting her lip, she spoke up, "Honored Wizard, we have a way to get the floatstone you need, but we require so support."
