"It really is enviable."

"HEHE..." Oma smiled, not continuing to provoke him, and asked, "Do you know the purpose of this visit?"

"That’s sothing I should be saying," Carl said, shaking his head. "I’ve just erged from seclusion."

While they were talking, several wizards from the high tower ca down from upstairs. Their expressions varied, and they left hurriedly after seeing each other.

"Sit."

Daniel said, rubbing his forehead and sighing, "We’re really short on hands. You two new wizards will have to work hard as well, but rest assured, you’ll just be doing so simple tasks."

"But... Wizard Daniel," Oma spoke up, "As a mber of the Six Rings Tower, it’s only right that I serve the Tower. You need only command."

"Well said." Daniel was very pleased with Oma’s response and said with a smile, "It’s not much, actually."

"Without the Capet family’s protection, Leipzig Market suffered heavy losses in this beast tide. It only managed to scrape by with Senior Vulcan’s intervention, but we cannot protect a market indefinitely."

"So..." He spread his hands. "After discussion, Leipzig Market will be managed jointly by the three families that contributed the most during the beast tide and the Andrew family."

The Andrew family? Carl’s eyes flickered.

"Wizard Daniel," Oma said, going straight to the point, "I’ve heard that the demise of the Capet family is related to the Andrew family; there’s a longstanding feud between them."

"Rumors," Daniel said, his expression unchanged. "Pay them no heed."

Rumors? Carl shook his head gently. He wasn’t convinced Daniel was unaware. But even if the Andrew family had orchestrated it, what of it? The Capet family was no more. Would the Six Rings Tower avenge the Capet family? After all, the Andrew family also had a Second Circle Wizard, and one who showed promise for the Third Ring. Adding three managers to restrain the Andrew family was probably the Tower’s last resort.

"You’ve just advanced, so there’s no need for you to do anything else," Daniel said.

"Oma, you’ll take Marian’s place to oversee the timber harvesting in the Cloudwood Hills. Just make sure no troubles arise."

"Yes." Oma nodded. She was already aware of the news of Marian’s murder and how Nancy’s prospects had been ruined, her gaze turning complex.

"Carl."

"Yes."

"You will continue to look after the apothecary business; our Six Rings Tower can hardly do without this inco," Daniel said with a smile, "Your remuneration is raised to twenty Magic Stones a month, with a year-end bonus. Additionally, you’ll have two apprentices working with you."

Twenty Magic Stones? With the bonus, that’s nearly three hundred a year! Not a small amount at all. Carl smiled with satisfaction and nodded in agreent.

Half a year passed. Houses, courtyards, and storefronts once again rose from the ruins. The great task of rebuilding was underway!

Carl returned to the forr site of Archie’s Apothecary. Looking at the storefront, now expanded to four units, he couldn’t help but sigh softly. Things look the sa, but the people are gone.

The apothecary was no longer what it had been.

Wizard Archie and Charlie had gone to the Kaliem Continent.

The guard, Jie, had died in the recent beast tide, and Trish had left the apothecary after losing an arm.

Of his acquaintances, only Charlie’s lover, Babala, remained.

Charlie and Babala’s child possessed no Wizard Talent. Furthermore, due to an injury sustained by the fetus during the beast tide, the child was born with a weak constitution. Babala now had to work while caring for the child.

Luckily, Charlie hadn’t been gone long, and his connections still held so sway. The Tower had not been heartless enough to drive them away.

"Carl."

A hearty voice ca from next door, and a thin wizard strolled over to him. "It’s only been half a year, and Mr. Carl has already beco a wizard! Truly worthy of being a disciple of the Six Rings Tower," he said.

"Wizard Burn," Carl said, nodding to the newcor. "We et again."

Burn, the owner of the neighboring general store, was skilled in crafting Seals and disposable Demonized Items. He was a wizard who loved to laugh. Of course, he only showed his laugh to those he acknowledged.

"I hear Wizard Archie has left?" Burn said with a tinge of emotion, "Thirty years! Over the years, I received so much guidance from Wizard Archie. It seems I’ll never have the chance to repay him in this lifeti."

"If Wizard Burn wishes to repay him, perhaps you could buy more Potions from the shop." Carl smiled and gestured with his hand, "Co inside and have a seat? I’ve just arrived myself and haven’t seen the new layout yet."

"HAHA..." Burn laughed heartily. "Then I must have a look and see how it compares to before!"

Inside the apothecary, several people were bustling about. So arranged goods, others wiped down chairs, while two more, holding a piece of paper, discussed sothing in hushed tones.

Upon seeing Carl enter, two individuals dressed in the robes of Six Rings Tower Wizard Apprentices quickly rose to greet him.

"Senior Carl!"

"Wizard Carl."

"Hmm," Carl acknowledged with a wave of his hand. "Continue with your work. I’m going to take a look at the back with Wizard Burn."

"Yes."

The two complied, their expressions sowhat complex. Both were in their thirties, even older than Carl, yet they had to address him as ’Senior.’ But it couldn’t be helped. On the wizard’s path, those who achieve are the teachers, and apprentices must defer to their seniors.

"The Tower is truly full of talent," Burn remarked, his gaze lingering on the two for a mont. He then continued, "Shaxon is a disciple many wizards would compete fiercely for. He apprenticed himself as soon as your people arrived."

One of the two, a native of the Magic Forest nad Shaxon, possessed rare second-level Wizard Talent. His previous tutor had been an ordinary Advanced Wizard Apprentice who died in the beast tide a few months ago. Now, Shaxon had taken a wizard from the Tower as his tutor, becoming a mber of the Tower.

The other, nad Lance, hailed from the Kaliem Continent. Rumor had it that he had been sent here due to disciplinary issues.
