Edward appeared around nine-thirty. Despite being a weekend morning, he still donned his professional suit while carrying his black briefcase.

Calix stared impassively at the younger man once Edward stepped inside the private lounge.

"I’ve reminded you to dress casually more than a thousand tis ah," Calix shook his head in disbelief. He took the files handed by Edward, "It’s weekend. You should go on blind dates later. Get to know so nice ladies."

Edward could be very rigid in certain aspects much to Calix’s dismay. He couldn’t help but think the forr was no longer a cute younger brother from years ago. Edward had beco as pesky as Evelyn.

Sigh... Not only their annoying quality match but, also their initials. They rarely made their appearances at the sa ti yet, once they did, catastrophe ensued.

Edward rolled his eyes, thinking how contradicting his botherso boss could be, "You’re not one to talk, Boss. I’ve lost count of how many tis you ran from your blind dates. Have you forgotten?"

"Tsk, you’re not cute anymore," Calix leaned against the couch’s backrest while reading the files, motioning at Edward to sit down, "How’s the company? Did any fire break out?"

Edward didn’t miss reporting to Calix at least thrice a day from the start of the business trip. Fortunately, everything was normal at the company except for so minor problems.

"Nothing. You can return to the office with peace of mind," holding the backrest of a couch, Edward sat opposite Calix, "Boss Xu, President Wang invited you to his 60th birthday banquet this Thursday. Will you go or not?"

"Send him a gift," replied Calix without thinking, "Reject any invitations for the night events in these two weeks. If possible, make it a month. Cancel the ones you’ve accepted. Tell them I’m busy."

"Should I tell them you’re occupied with the madam’s issue?" Edward was reminded of Leslie’s current condition. That was the reason his boss camped at this hospital, "When will you reveal about her waking up from her coma?"

Edward was genuinely shocked to hear the news despite being a pleasant surprise. The young madam regained consciousness right on the day his boss headed ho from his business trip.

If he rembered it correctly, Mrs. Xu was in a three-month-long coma. Only one month had passed from the day she was married to CEO Xu.

"I’ll ask my wife first. If she agrees, I’ll reveal it," replied Calix without looking up from the files, "Including an official statent from ."

Edward nodded, understanding that his boss was playing safe, "I’ll do that."

Soon, their idle conversation was replaced with a serious discussion. Calix thoroughly checked everything Edward brought to him. No other person disturbed them in the private lounge.

"The issue will be raised next Monday," Edward reminded Calix of the weekly eting, "The Planning Departnt and R&D Departnt will have an intense war on that day. Let’s hope they’ll bring good outcos to you, Boss."

Calix felt a headache threatening him once he heard Edward’s remarks. Shaking his head, he sighed, "Sotis, I want to toss them into boxing rings. Let them fight without bothering us."

"It’ll be a good activity for the company retreat this year," Edward shrugged, already imagining what Calix said randomly, "Oh, I forgot sothing else."

Under Calix’s anticipating gaze, Edward took out another file. Handing it to the forr, he exclaid, "New info of the finding, Boss Xu. I’ve expanded the searching periter beyond our neighboring provinces."

Even though Edward was baffled by Calix’s request to find the little girl nad Calliope, he kept his confusion to himself. He also didn’t forget to diligently do his duties despite hoping his boss would find her as soon as possible.

"Thanks," Calix took the file, thinking how it was thicker than before, "Seems like you’re working hard for your vacation days."

"Of course, I have to," Edward shrugged, grinning lop-sided, "I keep changing on my destinations. Every place is heavenly as long as I’m far from the office."

Calix glared at Edward, throwing daggers through his eyes. The young man smiled, wiggling his brows as if he didn’t say sothing offensive to his boss.

"Enough, you can go," waving one hand toward the door, Calix began shooing Edward away, "Just pray that I won’t call you back today."

"That’s my sincere prayer too, Boss. Bye-bye."

Edward hurriedly left the lounge. He didn’t forget to keep the work files inside his briefcase. His action garnered a sigh from Calix before his attention fell on the only file Edward left behind.

"Will she find that girl here?" mumbled Calix, concern imbuing his tone.

Leslie had been disappointed twice. Calix still rembered how hopeful she sounded when she started chanting third ti was the charm. Like her, he also prayed that her wish would be granted this ti.

But...

What if her wish didn’t co true? Surely it would affect her recovery process, wouldn’t it?

"...I don’t want that."

Calix’s gaze on the file was unfathomable. Without skimming through the printed papers, he ca up with a conclusion.

"I won’t show this to her yet," whispered Calix to himself as he reluctantly made his own decision, "Not now... at least."

Leslie was always a positive person but, she was in her most fragile state right now. Calix didn’t want her spirit to be shattered by the continuous disappointnt. He planned to wait until the right ti.

But...

When would it be? And, what was the indicator?

Shaking his head, Calix brought up his phone. He imdiately called the young man who had just hurriedly ran out of the lounge a few minutes ago.

"Co back here. Take this file with you."

"...yes, Boss."

Edward begrudgingly dragged himself to the lounge once again. He assud his boss didn’t want anyone else to see the file. After all, this was a public place instead of his office or private residence.

"Put it inside my drawer this Monday," Calix watched Edward slipping the file into the briefcase, "As usual, don’t say anything about it."

"Will you call again, Boss Xu?" asked the grimacing Edward, "I want to enjoy my weekend too."

"Yeah, yeah, I won’t call you again. Unless there’s an ergency."

Edward let out dry laughter, "I hope the ergency won’t ever arise. Bye."

Once again Edward dashed out of the lounge. Calix was too lazy to say anything about the younger man’s conduct.

"How many hours have it been?" Calix glanced at the wristwatch. He unconsciously raised his brows, "It’s past noon already?"

Calix didn’t expect his eting with Edward would last that long. He didn’t realize how much ti had passed because none of the nurses ca looking for him. It seed like Leslie’s checkups were going smoothly.

"I better go to her now."

Rising to his feet, Calix stepped out of the lounge. Slight guilt overtook his heart as he thought how negligent he was right now.

No matter how busy he was, shouldn’t he try to stay by her side?

As Calix walked down the quiet hallway, his mind was buzzing with his own thoughts.

’The rehab will take so much of her ti and energy. I hope she’ll focus on that first. The file can wait.’
