Passing through the portal, I quickly felt the power of the Ascendant Law again; we were back in the normal universe of the Ascendants. I could also feel the Urd power increasingly infiltrating the space and being blocked by a power that seed to originate from the Concept of War.
The city itself seed simple, like a small town, with people walking in simple clothes on the streets, people of all kinds of races, but even so, these people were too strange.
These people had well-built bodies, their muscles accentuated, bodies in shape, and their movents were well-trained, leaving no openings or wasting energy on unnecessary movents.
I see Igor walking right behind Ayden; he gestures for to follow, and I pull Xerxes, who was going in another direction and sohow had a mug of beer in his hand.
I followed the two Avatars through the streets; people ignored us all as if our presence were normal, and in a few minutes of walking, we arrived at a large building that we circled to a two-story house in the back.
We entered the house and the entire first floor was a large table laden with abundant food accompanied by barrels of drink; it was as if a party was about to begin.
Ayden sat at the table, removing his helt. Zeus’s red hair swayed behind him before he picked up a mug containing what looked more like liquid tal with a strong aroma of alcohol.
"Help yourself and sit down..." (Ayden)
"You can sit down, I’ll get sothing for everyone." (Igor)
"I don’t want any of this, I just want answers!" ()
"Real answers, I don’t have much patience right now." ()
I was angry. I had fallen into a trap I didn’t know was there, used as a pawn in their ga, regardless of anything. I don’t like this, I don’t like being used regardless of the circumstances, I don’t like being manipulated, and especially, I don’t like it when those who call themselves my allies do sothing like this to .
I could have let Igor and the rchant serve as interdiaries or presenters of the battles; a Neutral Entity would be perfect for that role, and from everything I’ve heard, the Entity of Comrce is known for its impartiality.
But what I saw today wasn’t the sa conflict I agreed to participate in; it was a clear trap, an ambush where my companions and I were treated as bait, where I placed people I care about in unknown danger.
Igor knew the truth about that event; the rchant had an agreent with Guerra. Only I was in the dark. I don’t care that Ayden, whose birthday it is, did sothing like this, nor do I care that the Incarnation of the System is part of it since I don’t have strong ties to it. Only Igor was sothing I didn’t expect to do sothing like this.
"I will explain everything, but just saying everything won’t be enough; we must explain things in parts." (Ayden)
"I’m all ears." ()
Since passing through the portal, I haven’t spoken to Igor, nor have I avoided looking at him as much as possible. Given his business acun, my behavior was quite clear; I could see his intentions in his actions as he presented a plate of appetizers and a mug of dark red drink beside . Even so, I didn’t look at him or what he brought, only pushing it towards Xerxes, who seed oblivious to all of it.
"It would be better to clarify the event first. If he stays like this, it won’t do any good." (Igor)
"There’s nothing to explain. He knows what he needs to know about the ambush. He fulfilled his role more than expected, even without knowing anything." (Ayden)
"Even so, with this atmosphere, the conversation won’t go..." (Igor)
"Tell if you’re right..." ()
"The rchant had a deal with Guerra?" ()
"Yes." (Ayden)
"How long before today did Igor know everything?" ()
"I found out the sa day you were notified, the sa day the plan was ford." (Ayden)
"The whole event was a trap for them where I was bait?" ()
"Yes." (Ayden)
"Then no explanation is needed, these are the facts, I understood them even during the confrontations." ()
"Even so, you don’t understand the importance..." (Igor)
"Igor, I know you don’t like it when a deal falls through, but it won’t do any good." (Ayden)
"Justifications, argunts, or reasons are useless here, he doesn’t care about your explanations or motives." (Ayden)
"I don’t need an ally who will use as a disposable piece the mont a valid reason to betray appears." ()
"You knew it would happen like this, arguing with a being of chaos won’t lead anywhere, so just explain everything to him." (Ayden)
"I’d like to at least talk to you in the future, Zenos... about all this, preferably when you’re calr." (Igor)
"That being said, the rchant asks that Xerxes be the one to tell about the enemies." (Igor)
"Guerra says the sa..." (Ayden)
"..." ()
I look at Xerxes, I’m not going to waste any more of my ti with Igor, any deal I had with him is broken, the sa with the rchant, I’ll just recover my share of the last deal and then forget they both exist.
Xerxes was eating, for her there shouldn’t be anything else in this room, since she returned she has indulged in every little pleasure she can get, among them eating has been especially enjoyed by her.
"I don’t know why so much mystery, they are part of the fugitives from that day, aren’t they Malakyel?" (Xerxes)
"My lord says you’re on the right track." (Ayden)
"Since it’s them, then I can speak." (Xerxes)
Xerxes approaches , her lips still stained with at, then she points to Ayden before beginning to speak.
"To begin, those you saw were my brothers and sisters, just like Malakyel, perhaps even descendants...?" (Xerxes)
"No, your descendants aren’t so normal." (Ayden)
"I don’t rember, but as I was saying, they are like us, the pinnacle of perfection." (Xerxes)
"Before the first God was born, before the elents separated and energies arose, even before the first universe was created... even before the first concept ca into existence... we were born... or rather, we were created." (Xerxes)
"Perfect beings, without any flaws, eternal and not separated into various separate parts like those today." (Xerxes)
"How so, separated?" ()
"Body, Soul, and Essence... everyone is like that nowadays, but back then we were a cohesive whole, our Souls, Bodies, and Essence were one." (Xerxes)
"We were, and still are, the firstborn of creation." (Xerxes)
"Born without flaws, we are the first act of creation, and precisely for that reason we were its first flaw." (Xerxes)
"How so, its first flaw?" ()
"Answer sothing..." (Xerxes)
"What is Evolution?" (Xerxes)
"..." ()
A simple question in this context opened up an endless array of answers to my questions.
If they had no flaws, there was no reason to improve, there was nothing to improve, there was nothing beyond them, and therefore they didn’t need to adapt to anything; there was no prosperity, only stagnation, just as happened with the Ascendants, but for a different reason.
While the Ascended beings forced and hastened a very specific evolution, it led to the stagnation of them all.
Those like Xerxes, who were born perfect, simply had no reason to evolve; stagnation was the answer.
"The first universe created was made to adapt to us, and so we remained for millions of years..." (Xerxes)
"There was no developnt, no learning, not a single generation after ours... we simply existed without alteration." (Xerxes)
"We had no creativity, imagination, Will, or emotions... rational beings with no purpose beyond existing..." (Xerxes)
"It was undeniable how lacking we were in every aspect compared to what are considered people today." (Xerxes)
Knowing this was impactful; I didn’t think Paradox was that old, I didn’t imagine that all Entities were that old.
"Wait, so all Entities are...?" (I)
"No, only half of them. The rchant himself is quite new; Hell, which ca much later, is much older." (Xerxes)
"The understanding of evolution and improvent didn’t exist, but he still wanted developnt. That’s how he tried sothing different. He created us perfect, and yet we weren’t able to create anything." (Xerxes)
"He then began to create many things that he simply pushed into us, like sensations, senses, instincts, emotions, genders, and so on." (Xerxes)
"We were perfect, and he wanted us to be more perfect, to be able to create or develop sothing. He divided us into genders so that we could feel the need to complent each other." (Xerxes)
"The senses were so that we could perceive things in a more separate way." (Xerxes)
"The emotions were a flaw from the beginning that he created while trying to create the instincts; in the end, he piled everything into us." (Xerxes)
"The result of all this... well... was madness..." (Xerxes)
"..." ()
I look at Xerxes, who speaks all this as if he were reading a normal book, but what I was hearing was like watching a child playing with dolls, a child who doesn’t care if the dolls break or strangely reshape themselves.
"(He didn’t know what he was doing...?)" ()
