Throughout history, all Heroes have shared one common characteristic: they are deeply emotional.

The Hero before may be quite special, but judging by so rumors about him so far and his opinion on Aiyi, it is evident that he is no different.

If that's the case, becoming friendly with him might not necessarily be a bad thing.

Of course, that presupposes Aiyi herself is also fond of him and doesn't resist the idea.

Otherwise, Sera wouldn't go as far as to sell out her little sister's future for these purposes.

(It's just that I never imagined that we, mbers of the Demon Clan, would have a day when we'd consider marriage. The world is indeed full of surprises.)

Chafne couldn't help but feel a bit emotional.

For millions of years, although the Six Great Demons, all won known throughout the world for their beauty, excelled one another, they had never contemplated the matter of marriage.

Even Chafne, who was the object of countless pursuits and affections, was no exception.

In this world, there was no man who could match them or catch their eye.

Even if it were a Hero, how many could reach the Transcend Level?

Ironically, Heroes were the natural enemies of the Demon Clan; in the war-torn era a thousand years ago, it was simply impossible for them to have any involvent with Demons.

Even those Heroes, infatuated and led astray by Chafne, would ultimately end up opposing the Demon Clan for a variety of external reasons, making any developnt with Chafne impossible.

Chafne herself looked down on everyone.

After all, those who easily fell at her feet didn't even deserve a second glance from her.

Not even the Three Great Goddesses had ever fancied any man. Firstly, because they had no such desires, and secondly, because the Divine Race held themselves in even higher regard than the Elf Clan, more noble and long-lived, making any romantic developnt with n of Alien Races utterly improbable.

Thus, Chafne had never thought that there would co a day when soone from the Demon Clan, like herself, would be prepared to be married off.

With these thoughts in mind, Chafne couldn't help it and suddenly asked Shane a question.

"Do you like Aiyi?"

Chafne looked straight at Shane.

"Hm?"

Shane was taken aback.

But seeing Chafne's direct gaze and her extrely serious deanor, Shane didn't even think before he replied directly.

"I do like her."

That was beyond doubt.

"Why?" Chafne seed not to have expected such a firm answer from Shane; she was sowhat surprised and asked with a hint of astonishnt, "Although my little Aiyi is very cute and has a big chest..."

Shane's eyes twitched.

But before Shane could express his opinion, Chafne continued.

"If you disregard appearances, my little Aiyi doesn't seem to have many likable qualities, right?" Chafne said. "She has a bad temper, is unapproachable, and does nothing all day but sleep; forget about dating, she probably wouldn't even willingly keep soone company. Why would you like such a girl?"

Upon hearing this, Shane was silent.

After a while, Shane spoke faintly.

"Indeed, that girl has a bad temper and is quite unapproachable, basically ignoring anyone she's not interested in. I suspect she could witness nurous deaths before her without changing her expression, just watching on..."

But then...

"I'm not included in that category."

Shane threw out such a statent.

"What?"

Chafne was startled.

Seeing this, Shane smiled.

"She's never shown her bad mood in front of ; although she often gets angry, in the end, she always gives in to ."

"Her aloofness has never been directed at ; even though she seems reluctant, once I ask for sothing, she always ends up agreeing half-heartedly."

"She might not give anyone else a second look, yet she has always watched , observed my behavior."

"She may indifferently watch the death of others, but she wouldn't allow anyone to touch ; she's even said more than once that if anyone dares to harm , she'll help settle the score."

Shane spoke to Chafne in such a manner.

"Tell , if I don't like such a girl, then who else could I possibly like?"

Shane's question left Chafne stunned for a long ti.

Then, Chafne recalled the events that had unfolded at the conference a few days earlier.

At that ti, Ai Yi faced her own people and made such a declaration,

"I'll make it clear to you first, that Hero is my person, don't even think about doing anything to him."

This was the first ti Chafne had seen Ai Yi show such obvious favoritism and protection.

Moreover, the person in question was a Hero, who ought to be a great enemy of the Demon Clan.

In the past, Ai Yi had detested the existence of Heroes, considering them to be a huge threat to the Demon Clan that could not be ignored, and had personally slain two Heroes, snuffing them out in their cradles.

Therefore, it ca as a great surprise to both Chafne and Camina that Ai Yi would make such a declaration, to favor and protect a Hero; to tell the truth, they were astonished.

Chafne had even worried whether Ai Yi had been deceived, or bewitched by the Hero.

Given this, the thoughts Chafne harbored towards Shane were half curiosity and half vigilance.

And now, watching Shane's indifferent and calm smile, Chafne suddenly felt that her worries were superfluous.

Her own sister greatly valued this Hero, to an extent that could make Chafne jealous.

But at the sa ti, this Hero's affection for her sister was just as great as her sister's for him.

"What if one day, we of the Demon Clan and the Divine Race go to war again?"

Chafne posed this extrely difficult question.

She wanted to know, on which side would this Hero stand before her.

However, Shane simply raised his eyebrows.

"What's that got to do with ?"

Shane's decisive words left Chafne dumbfounded.

"Not... Not your business?"

Chafne almost couldn't react.

But this was indeed the most genuine thought in Shane's mind.

"My relationship with Ai Yi is indeed special, but that doesn't an I have a good relationship with the rest of you in the Demon Clan," Shane said with a smirk, "If Ai Yi is bullied by soone from the Divine Race, of course I won't sit back and ignore it."

"But if the Demon Clan faces calamity, what does that have to do with ?"

Shane's answer was completely unexpected to Chafne.

To think that he would separate Ai Yi from the rest of the Demon Clan, sothing Chafne had never anticipated.

This made Chafne a bit displeased.

"Don't forget, Ai Yi is ultimately a Demon, our sister."

Chafne emphasized.

"So what?" replied Shane without any courtesy, "She is your sister, not mine. It's only natural for to help her, and it might be reasonable to help you, but if you think that's enough for to beco your workhorse and fight the Divine Race, sorry, but I really don't have that close of a relationship with you."

These words, though direct and realistic, were quite sensible.

In the Demon Clan, Ai Yi was the only one Shane truly cared about, hardly anyone else mattered enough to change his stance.

Indeed, Shane had so acquaintanceships with Sera, Lide, and Milu, but those were just minor connections.

Those connections weren't enough to make Shane, the Hero, betray the Demon Clan and help them fight against the Divine Race and the Human Race.

"Or do you think I would be like those Heroes and heroes of the past who were willing to betray their own races to fight for you on the battlefield, only to be disregarded by you, and end up as your loyal dogs?" Shane shrugged his shoulders and said, "You are certainly attractive, but in this world, there are things you can't get just because you're attractive."

These words caught Chafne off guard as she gazed at Shane.

There was an especially indescribable brightness in her eyes.

"So things cannot be obtained just by being attractive...?"

Chafne muttered to herself.

For soone like Chafne, to whom others were always willing to offer anything she wanted, who had hardly ever encountered anyone who would reject her, making most things in this world seem boring, Shane's words deeply touched her.

Shane didn't realize this and continued to speak.

"Don't think that because I beca a Hero, I will act as you expect."

"Whether I'm a Hero or not, I have my own thoughts, my own will."

"Be it the Divine Race or the Demon Clan, if I don't like it, I won't help, and if I do like it, even if others say it's the enemy I'm supposed to defeat, am I supposed to fight them?"

"I'm not like those Heroes of the past who genuinely believed they could save the world."

Shane said everything he should and shouldn't have.

Chafne was left speechless.
