A gaunt hand, skeletal as dry bone, raised, holding a crystal ball.

The being known as the High Priest had finally arrived.

A dense death qi fluctuated around him, corroding the very air to depletion.

"Bang!"

The stone rock on Lymco's body shattered.

The High Priest had rely released a stream of death qi towards him, and just like the ground before, the stone rock visibly dried out and cracked under Lymco's struggles and then crumbled into gravel.

Lymco fell to the ground, his body bloodied and a pitiful ss.

Yet, the flesh on his body rapidly regrew and healed at an unnervingly fast speed.

"Not bad."

The High Priest, looking at this scene, his hoarse voice turned delighted and relieved.

"The transformation efficiency is high, although it still falls short of 'that failure,' but after a thousand years, being able to create another Great Spirit Body, it wasn't a waste of all those years I spent collecting [Spirit Essence]."

Hearing this, regardless of Shane's reaction, Lymco understood the reason behind the changes in his body.

He knew he had beco stronger, suddenly possessing unimaginable power, yet he did not know why.

Now, it seed to be clearly related to the [Spirit Essence] he had ingested.

"Take this."

The High Priest, in a very good mood, lifted the crystal ball, and from it erged several dismal green glows, like wandering poisonous snakes; the High Priest's skeletal hand grabbed them and tossed them to Lymco.

Overjoyed, Lymco did not hesitate to snatch the serpentine green glows and, like a ferocious beast, devoured them all.

The High Priest then turned to face Shane.

Under his hood, his gaunt eye sockets stared intensely, resembling the true Death God of hell, coldly speaking to Shane.

"Although I do not know who you are, you dared to intrude into my domain, take our captured toy, and nearly ruined my hard-earned creation, how do you plan to compensate ?"

At these words, the death qi around the High Priest intensified sharply, and agonized human faces erged from within it, looking extrely terrifying.

Shane looked at the High Priest, glanced at Lymco, who was still greedily devouring the dismal green glow, and while recalling the previous conversation, he lightly smiled.

"Want compensation? Isn't that simple?" Shane said with a smirk, "The question is, can you even take it?"

His words instantly dropped the atmosphere to freezing.

The High Priest did not get angry, but his eyes grew colder.

"You are very bold," the High Priest said coldly, "It's been many years since soone dared to speak to like this."

"Is that so?" Shane was unshaken, even speaking sarcastically, "Could that be because you've been hiding and too afraid to et people?"

"You really dare say it," the High Priest laughed, not with anger but with a terrifying joy, "Do you really think you can strut around confidently just because you have so skills?"

"Who knows?" Shane simply wanted to show that he was never afraid in a war of words and said undisguisedly, "Whether I can strut around, I'm not sure, but I certainly can do as I please."

"Interesting." The High Priest said blandly, "Since that's the case, I'd like to see how you'll do as you please here."

With that, the High Priest raised the crystal ball high.

"Cling!"

A dismal green light suddenly burst forth from the crystal ball, illuminating the entire scene.

At this mont, the heavens and earth seed to change colors.

"Rumble, rumble..."

Dark clouds suddenly roared out, covering the sky.

"Whoo, whoo—"

A pitch-black gale suddenly howled, swirling across the area.

All light vanished, leaving only the dismal green light shining in this darkened world.

"Co forth,"

The High Priest called.

"Heed the call, eliminate the detestable enemy before , my pet."

As the sound faded, from the direction of the waterfall, along the mine shaft in the rock wall, a figure swept out.

It was an enormous figure.

Rotting dragon wings.

A rotting dragon body.

A rotting presence.

Dismal green eyes.

It was the dragon Shane had seen at the entrance of the basent— the Corpse Dragon.

"Roar—!"

A terrifying roar erupted from the mouth of the Corpse Dragon, shaking the atmosphere and the earth alike.

Bathed in the dragon's roar, Shane's cloak rippled violently.

"Co, play with my pet first."

The High Priest chuckled lowly, his laughter sounding like a devil's chant.

Shane also laughed.

"Sending a Corpse Dragon to deal with ?" Shane scoffed, "Old man, you have no honor in combat."

Of course, the High Priest had no reply to that.

But Shane's sarcasm was not lost on her. Enjoying the story? Find more at *.

Thus, the High Priest wasted no more words.

"Eat him."

The High Priest commanded coldly.

"Roar!"

The Corpse Dragon imdiately let out an angry roar, its Dragon Wings flapped as it dived towards Shane.

In an instant, thick Death Qi echoed, entwining the corpse dragon amidst the dark raging winds.

As the Corpse Dragon dived, its mouth opened and it expelled a breath filled with decay, engulfing Shane's direction.

That dragon breath felt different to Shane than the usual Dragon Species, lacking the oppressive force to break through all defenses, only carrying a strong scent of decay.

Surely, with its transformation into a Dead Spirit, the dragon's breath must have changed from before?

"Interesting."

Shane was not surprised; instead, he curved up the corners of his mouth.

Just as the decaying dragon breath was about to hit him, Shane finally moved.

"[Grant·Dispel]."

Shane chanted the Grant Magic capable of dispersing Magic and Magic Power, turning the magical force into invisible ripples that spread out and confronted the incoming dragon breath.

The decayed dragon breath suddenly stalled, then like early snow lting under the morning sun, it gradually shrank and vanished without a trace.

"What a powerful Grant Magic…"

The High Priest naturally witnessed this scene, her green eyes flickering.

"Roar!"

The Corpse Dragon, as if infuriated, once again spat out its decaying breath at Shane.

This ti, Shane didn't even bother to use magic to respond, directly raising his sword and slashing, the decaying breath coming towards him was split into two by the dazzling golden light of the Holy Sword, cut right there and turning into two turbulent air streams passing by him.

The scene was simply incredible.

"He… He actually split the dragon breath?"

Lymco, caught in a gulp, was stunned by this.

"That sword… that light…"

The High Priest stared at the Holy Sword in Shane's hand, her expression changing.

For so reason, from that brilliance, the High Priest not only felt a sowhat familiar Holy Wave but also sensed a heart-palpitating feeling.

Intuitively, the High Priest knew that this power posed a great threat to her.

And indeed, it was so.

The Holy Sword inherently suppressed the Demon Clan, evil, and all negative forces.

The High Priest's Death Magic was precisely what the Holy Sword was best at suppressing, and once encountering the Holy Sword, it was likely to be utterly destroyed.

Currently, Shane was rely invoking so sealed power of the Holy Sword with the effect of "Outer Destiny" that enhanced weapon performance.

Yet, even such slight power was enough to break through the dragon breath, defeat the transformable Demon Infant, and pose a threat to the High Priest, which was only natural.

The High Priest's mind raced.

"It seems this person is no ordinary character and must have an impressive background."

If that was the case, perhaps…

While the High Priest was pondering these matters, the Corpse Dragon had already furiously attacked.

"Clang—Clang—Clang—Clang—Clang—"

This was the noise stirred up by the clash between Shane and the Corpse Dragon.

The Corpse Dragon had already rushed to Shane's front, extending its Dragon Claws and baring its Dragon Teeth like a hunting beast, constantly snapping at Shane and pacing around him restlessly.

Stationary, Shane stood his ground, his Holy Sword swinging as before in the battle with Lymco, its blade light leisurely flickering to et the onslaught of Dragon Claws and Dragon Teeth, repelling them effortlessly.

His adeptness spoke volus, informing others that he simply did not regard the dragon as a threat.
