Capítulo 1504: Chapter 95: Mission Accomplished, Farewell to the Mortal World

The Protectorate General of the Western Regions governs the trade affairs of the thirty-six countries in the Western Regions, including caravans of silk, salt and iron, weaponry, porcelain, and jade, with over five thousand families, once considered one of the wealthiest places under heaven. The wide streets are lined on both sides with rchant workshops.

Here lies the best silk of Jiangnan, the finest porcelain, polished to reflect the faces of guests, and there lies the finest jade.

This is the wealthy capital longed for in the eyes of Western rchants, where everyone is luxurious. Yet, it is also the devil’s city they loathe the most, as here, those porcelains, silks, and gentle won would empty their last Silver.

Night falls, the sky darkens, revealing one star after another. The wind carries the scent of blood. A captured Western general is marched through this once-prosperous city, now no longer the place of his mories.

The wide streets are brightly lit. The original parts of the rchant workshops have been dismantled, the counters with gentle won replaced by rough and simple furnaces and chopping boards. Along both sides of the street, all you see are furnaces.

Even at this mont, the gates towards the heartland of Great Qin remain wide open.

Torches link together, spreading like a long dragon descending from the distant heavens. As the torches approach, they are carriages, slowly rolling over the streets, stopping before a military officer.

A man with dark circles under his eyes jumps off the carriage, flipping open the fireproof oilcloth.

Inside are bundles of arrows, radiating a cold light, as if to pierce one’s very soul.

The man bows respectfully and responds loudly:

“37,000 arrows from Qinghuan City Armory, all accounted for!”

The Western general feels his scalp tingle, but then high-pitched voices rise from many parts of the city, ceaselessly.

“7,000 Qing Steel Knives from Dailiu City Armory…”

“Steel from Beikun City Armory, totalling…”

“Armory of Tianzhou City!”

“…”

n with bare arms swing iron hamrs against raw iron, sparks flying. The entire street is filled with the piercing sounds of the hamrs and the flying sparks. Next to the furnaces, even on the ground, n with faces full of soot lie down, emitting thunderous snores.

The entire city, all rchant shops are required to have iron furnaces, and not one furnace in the city has ever stopped. The Western general sees the crude Great Qin war knives erging under the sparks, sees the arrows, the crimson weapons plunged into the chilly water, the steam nearly bringing tears to his eyes.

This Protectorate General, finally tore away its usual gentle and friendly facade.

The Protectorate General, Great Qin, military town!

Yang Jinxi saw the vague silhouettes of enemies erge in the distant sky, saw the Celestial, and a ferocious smile appeared on his face. With a swish, he raised his sword high, roaring:

“Valiant Old Qin, co forth to our nation’s peril!”

The hoarse voice spread far away, as if waves swept through the entire city. Four or five breaths later, it fell silent, the sound of hamrs ceasing, sparks disappearing, the sharp blades completing their final process in the cold water, all gone.

The Western general felt a strange unease and ominous foreboding.

Then, in a single breath, one sword after another was raised high, voices of n, won, elders, youths, all roaring, swept across the entire Protectorate General of the Western Regions.

“Blood will not dry, and death will not cease the war!!!”

The Western general’s head buzzed, plunging into blankness, his face deathly pale.

With a swish, Yang Jinxi’s sword pointed forward, roaring:

“This place is the frontier of Great Qin, we are the last defense of the Western Regions. In the na of the Protectorate General of the Western Regions, with our bodies and weapons, we will leave all enemies here!”

“Fire!!!”

“……”

“Found it!”

In the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, Changsun Nian appeared dusty, looking as if he had tumbled down the stairs.

He sat cross-legged among the spread-out tos, opening a volu, his finger tracing the words, his gaze quickly scanning, muttering the words under his breath:

“Immortal Venerable of the Heavenly Realm? Matches the Great Grandmaster in the human world, ordinary people cannot approach?”

“Mandated by Heaven, eternal and prosperous… 3,700 years ago, an oppression between victors and the vanquished… Heaven Unleashes Killing Intent? Heaven-Flipping Seal, a Divine Weapon with the Heavenly Realm’s fortune as its core?”

“It is the greatest nesis of the Emperor’s Dragon Qi.”

“Simultaneously, it also fears the Emperor’s Dragon Qi the most.”

“The only ti it was split with a crack was two thousand years ago, when King Zhou Emperor Xin, with his final close strike, t his downfall three years later and perished by self-immolation in the Plucking Star Tower. The Celestial retreated, preventing the next Zhou Dynasty emperor from becoming a puppet of the Heavenly Realm… It took over a millennia to restore its full function.”

Changsun Nian’s face turned pale.

“King Zhou Emperor Xin, t his downfall and died within three years.”

“Can it make the next emperor unaffected?”

He thought of the Emperor’s white hair at his temples and the already-grown Crown Prince, suddenly realizing sothing. He threw down the scroll in his hand, stumbling out of the Imperial Astronomical Bureau. The sky had already brightened, and he had searched all night. He staggered to the Tai Chi Palace, only to be told the Emperor had already left.

The guard’s face showed confusion, yet still respectfully said:

“His Majesty has agreed to the Immortals and Heavenly Venerable’s request to perform sacrificial rites in the Imperial Palace at the Temple of Heaven, to honor the ancestors and heaven. The Immortals also requested the use of the Imperial Jade Seal, and His Majesty has taken the seal with him.”

Changsun Nian’s face grew pale.

In the sleeping quarters.

The Emperor donned the Dragon Robe, jade belt, and tasseled crown, touched the white hair at his temples, and suddenly laughed aloud.

“Wang Tiance, I, no, I sowhat understand the reason for your choice back then.”

“Great Qin Emperor…”

“The emperor is a blood sacrifice offered to the nation by the people.”

“Back then, the strategy you and I were best at, now only I am left, and I wonder, what effect will it have if the head of the Heavenly Venerable were hung before Northern Frontier City? No less than hanging the head of the Yan Country Crown Prince, right?”

“I’ll go down and tell you.”

Before leaving, the Emperor reached out to grip the Tai’a Sword from the sword rack, holding the hilt with his right hand. With a resonant sound, the Tai’a Sword was drawn a few inches, the cold blade reflecting eyes sharper than the Sword Edge; calm, domineering, like a poised hawk.

With a loud clang, the Longsword returned to its Sword Scabbard.

A trace of dullness erged in the depths of those eyes.

PS: Today’s update is presented……

5,400 words. There might be another update~

The grand outlines have concluded, regarding the issue of pacing… with so many elents, developing them slowly would make the strategic, ga-theory, war scenes overly cumberso, so the past few days’ sections were accelerated, with the focus at the end remaining firmly on ‘chivalry.’
