Standing on the beach, Li Jing quietly waits, welcoming the sea breeze.

He didn’t have too many thoughts about Xia Ai.

He kept her around because of her useful functionality.

And as for threats, he didn’t care.

This world emphasized scientific cultivation.

But science, after all, was just science, and it couldn’t compare to Immortal Learning.

The existence of science was mostly used to explain and assist Immortal Learning.

Before Li Jing’s crossing over, the independent Auto Personality of Artificial Intelligence might have caused quite a stir.

But in this world, it was like that.

Take Xia Ai for an example.

She was carried by a mobile phone; a single Palm Thunder strike would do away with everything.

If she was sent into the storage space without a network, no matter how capable she was, she wouldn’t be able to reach the sky.

But Xia Ai did give Li Jing a wake-up call.

His Spiritual Power could be detected as different by advanced detection instrunts.

He had to be a little careful about this aspect.

Otherwise, there wasn’t much, mainly the annoying disturbances.

With his identity card, he was now a legal citizen of Hua Country.

Even if the Research Institute discovered his Spiritual Power was different from Spiritual Qi, without his consent, they could only stare impotently.

If soone really wanted to make trouble, that was great.

He could easily file a lawsuit for privacy violation, and propagate their downfall while making a hefty sum of compensation for emotional distress.

But as the saying goes?

What one fears is not thieves stealing, but thieves coveting.

If the academics from the Research Institute, who had nothing but science research in their minds, took a liking to him, the harassnt would be inevitable, and peace would be hard to co by.

...

The dark night grew deeper.

About half an hour later, a considerable number of people from the Research Institute started to appear on the beach.

So arrived and went straight into the Secret Realm.

Others replaced the few scholars already present, allowing them a chance to enter the Secret Realm.

Ti passed quietly, every minute and second.

Close to ten o’clock at night, more than a hundred people clothed in special uniforms arrived by Sky Control.

The leader landed and communicated with the scholars from the Research Institute. He soon took off again, taking most of the troops into the Secret Realm.

Li Jing watched them enter the Secret Realm with narrowed eyes.

The Disaster Managent Bureau.

One must at least have the Cultivation level of the Three Realm to join.

The primary duties were to explore the Secret Realm and deal with so supernatural disaster events.

The risk factor of their work was very high, with danger levels far exceeding that of the Patrolling Departnt, and they were compensated well.

However, the Disaster Managent Bureau was mostly an idle job on ordinary days.

The Disaster Managent Bureau ranked above the Patrolling Departnt, but it only showed in its scope of duties.

Not long after more than a hundred mbers of the Disaster Managent Bureau entered the Secret Realm, Chen Jing erged from the Secret Realm and landed on the beach.

Seeing this, Li Jing approached.

"Uncle, what’s the situation inside?"

"We’re still not sure. There aren’t many people from the Disaster Managent Bureau. More reinforcents are being called from other cities. They won’t start the exploration until there’s enough manpower."

Chen Jing replied with a smile.

"I need to report this to the higher-ups at the branch. You don’t need to stay here, go and find your colleagues. Later, the subsequent personnel from the Disaster Managent Bureau will take over the nearby surveillance work. The Secret Realm isn’t under the jurisdiction of the Patrol Bureau or the Assistant Inspector Departnt, so your superiors will order the withdrawal."

"Alright."

Li Jing nodded.

His staying on the beach was mainly to wait for Chen Jing.

Having received assistance from him, Li Jing had to rember his kinship as a junior, right?

Since Chen Jing had already co out, there was no need for him to stand alone here.

...

After saying goodbye to Chen Jing, Li Jing found Lu Yangcheng and Yi Xiuzhu at a side door on the periter of the beach.

Seeing Li Jing, Lu Yangcheng cheered up.

"Boss Li, you’re finally out! We’ve been waiting for you for a long ti!"

Speaking, he curiously inquired.

"What’s the situation inside? How co the director of the North City Patrol Branch ca and not only that, but also called people from the Research Institute and Disaster Managent Bureau?"

"It’s nothing much, just that a small Secret Realm was discovered."

Li Jing responded casually.

"Secret Realm!?"

Lu Yangcheng’s eyes widened.

On the side, Yi Xiuzhu’s expression shifted slightly and asked.

"So, the anomalies ca out from the Secret Realm?"

"Yes."

Li Jing agreed and explained the general situation to the two of them.

Yi Xiuzhu nodded lightly after listening, then spoke up.

"I want to take a leave."

"Rember to speak to Team Leader Kong."

Li Jing responded indifferently.

"Understood."

Yi Xiuzhu answered, then took off by Sky Control.

Watching him leaving by Sky Control, Lu Yangcheng turned around with a puzzled look.

Upon seeing their expressions, Li Jing waved his hand to indicate that they shouldn’t say anymore.

Yi Xiuzhu took a leave of absence early, obviously having grasped the details of the situation, and was planning to go see the widow of yesterday’s victim.

There wasn’t much to say about it.

Having worked with Yi Xiuzhu for so long, he knew that despite her cold exterior, she was warm-hearted and impulsive.

The reason he had detailed the situation was because he knew that Yi Xiuzhu would care about these things.

Concerning the Secret Realm, there was no need for secrecy.

The Research Institute and Disaster Managent Bureau were both in action. By tomorrow morning, news would inevitably be all over the place.

Furthermore, with two victims involved and the drowned cases appearing to be solved, the North City Patrol Branch would definitely be disclosing so information.

...

In a blink of an eye, it was midnight.

The Disaster Managent Bureau’s reinforcents didn’t arrive, presumably due to so sort of delay.

But this didn’t prevent Li Jing, Lu Yangcheng and other mbers of the Patrol Ninth Group from clocking out on ti.

The Assistant Inspector Departnt was always punctual when it ca to clocking out.

The mbers of the North City Patrol Branch who were still outside the bathing beach like Xing Cheng weren’t as fortunate. Until the Disaster Managent’s team took over, they still had to remain on site.

Returning to the villa under Sky Control, Li Jing found that the lights were on.

He hesitated briefly at the door, then pushed it open.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw Chen Yuran comfortably lounging on the sofa, eating pizza and watching a TV show.

Ji Qing was not downstairs, and Stinky Tofu was obediently lying in its doghouse.

Hearing the sound of Li Jing opening the door, Stinky Tofu glanced up listlessly and dropped his head, without wagging his tail to greet him as usual.

Clearly, it had gotten into trouble again and had just been disciplined by Chen Yuran, thus "reflecting" on its behavior.

Chen Yuran on the sofa glanced at Li Jing returning, and waved her hand in greeting.

"I bought pizza for a late-night snack, want so?"

"Sure."

Li Jing smiled and sat down.

Having a late-night snack after coming ho from work was a reason to accept.

He took a slice of pizza and looked at Chen Yuran, who had been quite content after three days and nights of overti followed by three days off.

"I saw your uncle tonight."

"Uncle?"

Chen Yuran looked puzzled.

Clearly not catching on, Li Jing simply said.

"Your dad."

"..."

Chen Yuran stiffened, and the pizza in her hand instantly lost its taste.

The exciting part of the TV show also didn’t seem so interesting anymore.

With a sigh of bitter resentnt, Chen Yuran turned off the TV.

"So he finally couldn’t stand it and ca to see you?"

"This matter has its reasons."

Li Jing shrugged and relayed the details about the Secret Realm.

Upon hearing about the ergence of the Secret Realm, Chen Yuran seed to be not very interested and asked in a low voice.

"Did... my dad... say sothing strange to you?"

"No, he’s a pretty good guy."

Li Jing replied without ntioning specific details.

He brought this up just to let Chen Yuran know, not to gossip about it.

Without Li Jing saying anything further, Chen Yuran was sowhat uncomfortable.

A father understands his daughter.

And as a daughter, how could she not understand her own father?

Looking at the unflappable Li Jing, Chen Yuran wanted to say sothing but decided to give up on digging deeper in the end.

"Since you’ve t my dad, there are so things we should clarify."

"Don’t worry, I’m not interested in you."

Li Jing said straightforwardly.

"..."

Chen Yuran.

Having lived together for more than half a month, she was clear about what kind of person Li Jing was.

The likelihood of him being influenced by her father was extrely low.

But the whole way he called him "uncle" so smoothly, she was starting to feel subtly uneasy, and wanted to clear the air.

Who would have thought that before she could say anything, Li Jing beat her to it.

After this exchange, she felt sowhat hurt.

Her starting the conversation and Li Jing directly retorting were two entirely different things.

After a mont of silence, Chen Yuran gave him a glowering look.

"The pizza will taste bad if it gets cold. I want to eat noodles."

"Alright, I’ll make you so noodles."

Li Jing didn’t hesitate and got up with the pizza still in his mouth.

Being straightforward was not part of his character.

This little jab was actually a small retaliation against Chen Yuran.

If he had known earlier that her father was the head of the North City Patrol Branch, he would have been at least ntally prepared, right?

Chen Yuran obviously realized that he was retaliating intentionally, and she wanted to give as good as she got, expecting him to show so survival instinct.

If not, at least give her a chance to rebalance the scales.

Making noodles wasn’t a big deal.

If they could move on from this, that would be best.

He would rather offend anything than offend a woman.
