[Vol. 6] Chapter 137: Hello, My Na Is Dawn

“Hmm.”

Hearing the now sowhat familiar na, the priestess couldn’t help but think of two individuals. The mysterious [Spirit Fox Shrine Maiden] and the Spirit Veil Tribesman she had encountered in Sacred Star City of the Holy Empire. The one who called himself Ming Lan.

That group of Spirit Veil, led by Ming Lan, was Violet’s only true close encounter with mbers of the Spirit Veil Tribe. To be honest, they didn’t seem all that different from humans. Two eyes, one mouth, the usual.

It was said that the Spirit Veil were an immortal race, and Ming Lan himself had explicitly claid to be at least 30,000 years old. While the truth of that statent remained unverified, given the Spirit Veil Immortal Island’s exalted status within the [Ancient Spirit Realm]…

Even if he was exaggerating, there was likely so truth to it.

Unfortunately, Ming Lan had left in a hurry back then. Even when Violet later visited the Spirit Veil rchant Guild specifically to find him, he was already gone.

If that was the case, he had probably returned to Spirit Veil Immortal Island. Maybe, just maybe, she would cross paths with him again soday.

As these thoughts crossed her mind, the black-haired girl walked toward the altar standing at the center of the ceremonial hall, climbing the steps to stand before it.

Under the bright glow of the [Dawn Stones], which gave the altar an otherworldly feel, the writing on the stone tablet quickly beca visible to Violet’s striking silver-blue eyes.

“This is…”

Violet felt a twinge of surprise.

The text wasn’t written in the common script used in the [Ancient Spirit Realm] today. Instead, it was composed in “Ancient Divine Language”, the [Ancient Niel language],exclusively used by deities to communicate.

Normally, there were probably only a handful of people in the entire [Ancient Spirit Realm] who could understand its aning.

What’s more, upon closer inspection, the writing seed to float in the air, detached from the surface of the tablet itself, creating an oddly unreal sensation.

What surprised her even more was the ssage conveyed by the text:

—– —– —– —– —– —– —– —–

Hi, hello there! My na is [Bright Dawn], but you can just call [Dawn]. Welco to this place. I’m not sure if this area will ever see the light of day again, but who can predict the future? So, I decided to leave this stone tablet here as a kind of guide and warning for whoever might co after .

Hmm… where should I start? Oh, right. First of all, if you’ve been painstakingly trying every single path and took a long ti to find this room, I owe you an apology. Actually, all those paths are fake. I just had a sudden whim and added a bunch of unnecessary branching options next to the proper path. I hope you won’t take it too seriously. Even if you’re annoyed, there’s nothing you can do to anyway. Hehe~

Of course, if soone managed to get here within half an hour, regardless of the thod you used, congratulations! As a reward, I’ve prepared a small gift. There’s only one, waiting for you behind this tablet. No need to thank ~

Oh, and one more thing. If you took too long to get here, this and the earlier part of the ssage will disappear from the tablet. Just a heads-up.

Ahem, back to the main point. The reason I left this ssage isn’t just to amuse myself by entertaining whoever cos after . No matter why you’re here or whether you already understand the situation, I think it’s important to emphasize a few things again.

This hidden tomb was built by myself after I defeated a troubleso enemy. It serves both as a monunt to my great achievent and as a way to seal away its lingering influence.

Normally, most people shouldn’t even rember this enemy because its very *existence* was sealed away by so special thods I used during our battle. As long as the seals on this tomb remain intact, it’s as if that thing simply doesn’t *exist*.

Of course, nothing is absolute. Even I can’t guarantee that everything will remain perfectly secure. This world is full of strange and unpredictable things, after all.

But if you’re soone who stumbled upon this place by sheer coincidence and know nothing about its significance, you’d better pay close attention to what I’m about to say. Your very presence here, despite being unrelated to these events, suggests that part of the seal has already been broken. In fact, the entity suppressed here might already be stirring and could make contact with you sooner than you expect.

This tomb was built to suppress a being known as the [Naless Demon Sovereign]. The title that sounds flashy, right? Yes, you read that correctly. It’s literally called [Naless].

Now, how should I put this…? While I don’t claim to know everything about it, I can tell you this much, it was a terrifyingly formidable entity. Sohow, it stumbled upon and developed an ability that allowed it to abandon its own “existence” and instead steal and absorb the “existence” of others.

When soone’s “existence” is stripped away, they effectively vanish from this world, as though they never existed. All mories and consequences tied to their life are erased. At least, this is how it works for most ordinary living beings.

Because of this ability, the [Naless Demon Sovereign] wreaked havoc for centuries, slaughtering countless lives, even destroying entire cities on several occasions. Yet almost no one noticed, allowing it to roam freely for a very long ti.

Eventually, I stumbled upon traces of its activities by pure chance. That discovery led to investigate it deeply, and I realized it had stolen so much “existence” and karma that its power had grown to an alarming level.

Despite appearing to have only a normal level of cultivation in the [Ultimate Transformation] realm, the [Naless Demon Sovereign] had used its abilities to cheat its way into mastering techniques and powers far beyond its realm, things that only beings in the “Immortal Realm” or higher could comprehend and utilize. By that point, no ordinary strong cultivator could hope to defeat it.

If it had been left unchecked for another few decades or centuries, it might very well have beco the first being in the history of the [Ancient Spirit Realm] to achieve physical immortality. Of course, the price it would have paid for that achievent would likely have been many tis greater than all the destruction it had caused up to that point.

As a [Spirit Fox Shrine Maiden], I consider myself a semi-guardian of this world. Once I discovered the [Naless Demon Sovereign], there was no way I was going to let it continue its rampage.

While it was powerful, it was still no match for . After chasing it relentlessly, I finally managed to trap it in this area and completely destroyed its physical body.

However, the sheer number of existences it had absorbed made its essence incredibly vast. Even after its death, its presence couldn’t fully disappear. Its tangled web of karma was like an enormous ball of knotted thread. It would take an eternity to unravel it all. And honestly, that’s just way too much trouble for .

I also had far more pressing matters to deal with, so I couldn’t waste my ti here. That’s why I built this tomb, to suppress and seal away its lingering soul and sense of existence.

Of course, as I’ve said before, if you’re reading this inscription, it ans the seal must have failed, and that thing has escaped.

You know what they say, [The purpose of a seal is to be broken!], So it’s not exactly surprising, is it?

Dear visitor, if you think you’re capable of handling this situation on your own, go ahead and do what you believe is right. However, if you’re not confident in your abilities and don’t plan to ignore this problem, then report the matter to [Spirit Veil Immortal Island]. They should be able to help you out.

What? You’re asking why I’m not dealing with this myself?

Co on, if I had the ti, I would have sensed the issue and co to take care of it imdiately. There’s no way I’d leave it to soone like you to stumble upon this place! So don’t count on . Who knows what the future holds? For all I know, I might be long gone by then.

Hmm… that being said, if Spirit Veil Immortal Island no longer exists in your ti, then you’re on your own. I’ve explained everything clearly, so handle it however you like. In any case, it has nothing to do with anymore! Hehe~

—– —– —– —– —– —– —– —–

The inscription ends abruptly, leaving only a small, intricately carved fox symbol at the bottom. The fox seems to be grinning mischievously, as if playfully mocking whoever reads this.
