"What is it?"

Bai Wei took out an old music box from his pocket and softly spoke.

"A... final request."

...

Rocky was stunned for a long ti.

He thought he had misheard.

That guy Fig... is dead?!!

How is that possible?!

He considered that Fig might succeed, he also considered Fig might fail, but he never thought Fig would die.

After all, Fig, unlike Corey, that arrogant One-eyed Dragon, didn't go to Wildfire alone — he brought an entire Knight Squad, along with two Devourers!

The most important were those two Devourers. As the Bishop of Rhein, Fig was well aware of the Devourers' combat abilities, and the reason Rhein could possess so many Visas Corpse Pieces was due to the Devourers that other Churches didn't have.

For a millennium, no Corpse Fragnt Holder targeted by Devourers had ever escaped, not even once.

But this ti... Fig is gone?!

What happened? Did he get eaten by the Devourers?!

"Rocky! Rocky!" The bishop from the south called out in a low voice, snapping Rocky out of his stupor, "Stop spacing out! His Eminence is asking you a question!"

Only then did Rocky co to his senses, realizing that His Eminence Lango was watching him, and his heart skipped a beat.

Damn, damn, could it be that his own [Disturbance] caused Fig's death?

If that's the case, would His Eminence still forgive him?

... Doesn't seem likely.

But Fig clearly died on Wildfire, did he manage to send detailed information back before he died? And specifically nad his [Disturbance]?

Impossible, right? If that's true, Fig was really being unfair!

In any case, with just a look from Lango, Rocky's thoughts ran wild like a mad dog in heat, totally uncontrollable, barely able to keep his guilt off his face.

Fortunately, Lango didn't question the matter of [Disturbance], but spoke in a deep voice: "I know Fig's death is a huge blow to us, but we can't let that deter us, especially you, Rocky. With Fig gone, you're the most senior among the four Bishops. If even you are at a loss, what will happen to Rhein's future?"

Lango's words eased Rocky a bit because it didn't seem like he was already aware of [Disturbance].

As for being the most senior among the four Bishops...

He looked around and found it to be true.

Fig was originally the most senior among the four Bishops and was being grood as the next Pope. He and Corey were from the sa batch, and the southern bishop was the last to co on board.

But now, Fig was ready to move on to his full moon birthday, Corey's corpse was already cold, missing a third of it, which makes him the most senior, doesn't it?

In the past, Rocky would have been very happy because he would likely beco the next Pope, but now...

"Sorry, Your Eminence." Rocky took a deep breath, feigning composure, "I've adjusted my mindset. You can continue."

Lango made a faint "Hmm" sound, his condition not good either. Compared to a few months ago, he had aged significantly, evidently worn out by the series of upheavals that even this world's most distinguished and powerful person could not withstand, giving the feeling of having changed from a once supre Pope to just an old man.

"There is actually a lot to say." Lango opened slowly, "Fig didn't suddenly lose the ssage. After entering Wildfire, he kept sending information and progress back to us as a precaution. Facts have proven his intuition was correct that Wildfire is far more complex than we imagined."

Seeing Lango ntioning Wildfire directly instead of Ulu, Rocky was still rather surprised.

The land of Wildfire, a Land without God, could it really be more significant than Ulu which held several Corpse Pieces?

Fortunately, there were materials spread out in front of them that they could browse directly.

And with just a re glance, Rocky could not keep his composure.

"Wildfire wants to beco a God?!" He exclaid in shock.

Only to find everyone staring at him after he spoke, soon realizing his lapse, he apologized repeatedly.

Lango, without the heart to chastise Rocky, nodded slightly as if he hadn't heard, "Indeed, it's a century-old plan, and Wildfire's believers have always been working towards it."

"Unbelievable…" said the southern bishop in a low voice, "These believers are not even human."

"Yes, they are a group of hounds, hounds trying to seize power."

"That's really…" Rocky couldn't help but ask, "Did they succeed? Did that Wildfire... beco a dog god? Did Fig die trying to stop this?"

"That point remains unclear, yet Wildfire didn't beco a God, although it ca very close at one point." Lango said, "According to reports from the Knights deployed on Wildfire's borders, they once observed an incredibly powerful force within Wildfire, capable of altering heaven and earth, a completely divine power, but then the power vanished."

"Vanished?"

"Yes." The priest beside Lango explained, "It completely disappeared without a trace, as if... it had perished."

... Perished?

This implies Wildfire had once beco a God, only to die in the end? How could it be? Who had the power to kill it once it beca a God?

Rocky found this news even more outrageous than Fig's sudden death.

"That's indeed the case." The priest continued, "And it's not just the divine aura that disappeared, but also the eternal night of that land."

"You an... Corpse Ghosts?"

Though Rocky's East Church wasn't on the border of Wildfire, he still knew sothing about that cursed land.

"Yes." The priest nodded, "The land has now completely returned to normal, no longer shrouded by curses, no longer carrying the divine aura, and has truly beco... a Land without God."

This was even more explosive news.

Land without God... theoretically, this was a term that shouldn't exist.

The power of the divine sheltered every corner of this land, even the Boundary Land in the middle of various Church territories was still within the realm of divine power. Even the severely damaged Lyra and Holy Sound still, one has the Order Sword standing at the center, and the power of the other hasn't dispersed, only weakened.

The sa was true for Wildfire's land, everyone knew that those lingering Corpse Ghosts were just the leaked aura of the God of Senluo after death.

And now, a true Land without God has appeared.

Neither Senluo nor Wildfire has anything left in that land.

As bishops, they couldn't imagine a place without divine power, even if the head were an Evil God?

In the past, Rocky would have urged Lyra to imdiately dispatch troops to seize that land without a master, presud of desecration.

But this ti he didn't dare to say so, as even though the news already sent his nerves spiraling, he knew the biggest one was yet to co.

Everyone present knew, so no one expressed more opinions on the Land without God, as it wasn't their land anyway.

So they all looked to Lango, waiting to listen to the biggest trouble.

And after a long silence, Lango finally let out a heavy sigh.

"I know what you are all more eager to know." He spoke slowly, "Yes, we still haven't retrieved any Corpse Pieces. And it's very likely that the guy found new Corpse Pieces in Wildfire, and... a part of the powers belonging to the god."

Everyone's expressions tensed, but before they could speak, Lango sighed again.

"Even though I really don't want to make such a decision." He said, "The ti has co, we must admit that relying only on ourselves isn't enough to deal with that guy."

Rocky guessed what this ant: "You an..."

"We can't allow him to continue," Lango said, "Announce his existence to all the Churches."

"... Including Esoteric Buddhism?"

"Including Esoteric Buddhism."
