Vic still couldn’t quite understand Bai Wei’s aning, the idea of obsession felt too profound.
Moreover, before he could ponder it further, suddenly, Vic found the path beneath his feet sowhat familiar.
So he stopped, staring blankly ahead.
"Here... I’ve been here," he said to Bai Wei.
"Hmm?" Bai Wei looked at Vic, smiling, "There’s only one path here, of course, you’ve been here... What you want to say is that you’ve rembered sothing, right?"
"Yes, yes, I rembered." Vic walked two steps forward and pointed at the First Rank stone steps beneath him, "Ade and I were here, right at this spot, on this step, at that ti Ade suddenly stopped walking, it, it..."
Vic seed sowhat dazed again, unable to recall it clearly.
But Bai Wei already saw in Vic’s mory, that little wolf lying in front of this section of steps, baring its teeth, unwilling to move forward as if sothing terrifying awaited them ahead.
"Keep going," Bai Wei patted Vic’s shoulder, "You’ll rember more when you reach the front."
Vic instinctively followed Bai Wei, and after taking two steps, he suddenly had a vision.
It seed that the person walking ahead of him was no longer Bai Wei, but... himself?
"Don’t be afraid, Ade." He saw himself saying to himself, "No matter what’s ahead, I’ll protect you."
So, he went up to follow.
After the corner up ahead, a towering but broken building appeared before them.
He saw his mouth open wide, in an astonished expression.
"Is this... Senluo Temple?"
But what ca out was Bai Wei’s voice.
Vic suddenly snapped out of it and found Bai Wei standing in front of the temple, half-turned looking at him.
"This is Senluo Temple," Bai Wei pointed at the temple in front, smiling, "Still talking about being a Hunter? Can’t even recognize your own family temple?"
"No, it’s not." Vic took a deep breath, "This really is Senluo’s temple."
The temple blocked the road squarely like a mountain gate, only through this gate could one continue forward.
"You don’t look so well," Bai Wei asked, "Did you rember sothing again?"
"Not yet, but..." Vic hesitated, "Priest Ulu, I don’t know why, but many of my mories are not from my own perspective."
"Oh? Not from your own perspective?" Bai Wei knowingly asked, "Is it a dog’s?"
"Yes... No, it’s Ade’s." Even at this mont, Vic didn’t forget to stand up for Ade, "I don’t know why, but it’s not the first ti, every mory I have is from Ade’s perspective looking at myself, this feeling really... weird, do you know the reason?"
"I have a guess, but it’s just a guess." Bai Wei said, "But I’m not planning to tell you... Don’t look at like that because those guesses without evidence won’t help you now and will just affect your mood. Think about it, what did the old Hunter say to you back then."
Vic’s expression darkened: "He said... Ade might have been devoured by ."
"Yeah, how do you feel about that?"
"...Feeling bad."
"Exactly," Bai Wei shrugged, "It’s just a guess without evidence, nothing but affecting the mood, is there any point keep asking? Isn’t it better to find out the answer yourself?"
"...You’re right," Vic took a deep breath, his eyes gradually becoming firm, "I won’t be lost again."
"Hmm, seems like you’ve made similar resolutions many tis."
"Ah?" Vic was startled, "Really?"
"Yes, but it doesn’t matter, as long as you can do it in the end." Bai Wei said smiling, "Keep going."
"Okay!"
Vic quickly followed Bai Wei, then preceded Bai Wei by pushing open the temple’s grand door.
The door wasn’t locked, so the sunlight stread in, like a sword cutting through the darkness inside the temple, eventually falling onto the Senluo Divine Statue in the center, giving a feeling of the God of Senluo returning to the world.
The two entered swiftly.
Not sure why, but even after entering nurous dilapidated Senluo Temples all these years and seeing countless Senluo Divine Statues, Vic never felt anything strange.
But this Senluo Divine Statue before him exerted enormous pressure, making him subconsciously want to say sothing to ease the suffocating feeling.
So he spoke: "Here... Why is there a temple of the God of Senluo?"
"Hmm?" Bai Wei turned back, looking at Vic with an expression like "are you joking?" "Is it surprising to have a temple of Senluo in Senluo’s Sacrificial Arena?"
"No, no, no, I just..."
Vic instinctively waved his hand but then a piece of dialogue surfaced in his mind.
"Why is there a Senluo Temple here?"
"Why wouldn’t there be? This is Senluo’s Sacrificial Arena."
He suddenly froze.
"What’s wrong?" Bai Wei noticed Vic’s expression change, "Stunned again?"
"No, it’s not." Vic murmured, "I’ve spoken to soone here."
"Wasn’t it just ?"
"No, I an... the last ti I ca here, I had talked to soone," Vic said loudly, "There was soone else here!"
Bai Wei raised his eyebrow: "Are you sure?"
"...Absolutely!" Vic felt more mories about here rising to the surface, "Definitely there was a person, I rember, it was a woman."
