Elara’s words were like a thunderclap in his ears.
He clearly didn’t love her, and their outco was clearly just a matter of convenience. Clearly, even those so-called beautiful monts were just a facade he put on.
Clearly, the woman he loved most was sitting right beside him. Clearly, he was so repulsed by Elara.
Clearly, when they divorced, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Clearly... he had never loved Elara at all.
But why, when Elara’s voice trembled and she spoke with teary eyes in front of him, did he feel as if his heart was torn sowhere, causing him an unbearable pain?
Could it be that he loves Elara? How could that be possible?
Cecilia looked at his desolate expression, bit her lip, and softly said, "Brother Mason, was it the words Elara just said that made you uncomfortable? Elara really is sothing, how could she treat you like this in front of so many people? How are you supposed to face this?"
Mason listened to Cecilia and suddenly felt enlightened. Yes, it was his pride that got hurt, that was why he felt this way. The person he loved was Cece, how could soone like Elara easily affect his emotions?
It must have been because Elara offended him that he was acting so strangely.
Mason t Cecilia’s concerned eyes, chuckled lightly, and leaned over to kiss her face, "Forget it, I won’t stoop to the level of a stray dog like her. Having you is enough."
Cecilia’s face flushed with red as she shyly lowered her head, murmuring, "Mhm... I... I love Brother Mason the most as well."
Mason’s heart was filled with love.
Just then, Rosalind stood up and said, "Brother, I have sothing to do, I need to leave. You and Cece have fun."
Mason didn’t mind, "Be careful on the road."
However, Cecilia watched Rosalind’s back, a aningful look flashing in her eyes.
Elara staggered to the entrance of the club, raised her hand to hail a cab, when her phone rang. She picked it up, her voice weak, "Hello..."
The person on the other end seed to pause for a mont before speaking. It was Andrew Chamber’s warm voice, "Elara, how’s it going on your end? Did you find your dad?"
Elara took a mont to react, rembering Andrew had sent her back earlier. Trying to sound alert, she replied, "Yes... I found him, thank you, Supervisor Chambers."
Andrew was unfazed, instead concerned as he asked, "Where are you now? If you’re heading back to the company, I can give you a ride."
Elara dared not return to the company in her current state. She had already decided to take a cab straight to the hospital, whether for a stomach pumping or treatnt, the hospital surely had a solution.
So she politely declined Andrew’s offer, "No, thank you, I can..."
Andrew suddenly spoke sternly, "Elara, you don’t have to be so formal with . I’m your leader, it’s my duty to care for and help you. Besides, your work is tied to our team, and I sense sothing off in your voice. If there’s anything you need assistance with, please do not hesitate to tell ."
Elara felt warmth in her heart, realizing that a known driver was indeed different from a stranger. In her current state, she dared not entrust herself to a stranger.
Even if Andrew was just a supervisor, they were acquainted...
Elara hesitated for a mont, "Where are you?"
Andrew replied, "I’m on Corvus Road."
It was indeed very close, only three blocks away, and wouldn’t delay anything.
Elara then gave her location, thanked Andrew repeatedly, and hung up the phone, waiting with reassurance.
By this ti, her body’s heat had risen to her cheeks, her whole being soft and powerless, only able to lean on the pillar at the door to find so relief in its coolness...
Yet she couldn’t control the restless feeling inside her.
Just then, footsteps sounded behind her, and a figure stopped behind her.
Elara struggled to turn around, only to see Rosalind standing there arrogantly with arms crossed.
She acted as though she hadn’t seen her and turned her head back.
Rosalind wasn’t bothered by her ignorance, laughed, and said cheerfully, "Elara, you probably don’t know what my brother put in your drink, do you?"
Elara croakily replied, "I guessed."
Most likely so aphrodisiac or sothing.
Rosalind feigned surprise, "Didn’t expect it to work so fast, seems your body’s already reacting! My brother even told to co later, if I really did, you might have suffered from the drug’s effects by then, huh?"
Elara looked at her, "You... what do you an? Mason let you..."
Her tongue was already becoming sluggish.
But the information released in Rosalind’s words was still shocking to her.
Rosalind smiled, "Yes, my brother was afraid you couldn’t handle the dicine, so he specifically asked to co out with so n to help!"
She finished speaking, pointing to the roadside. Elara looked over and saw four male models getting out of a flashy sports car.
The male models were all tall and muscular, with their prominent abs quite pleasing to look at.
Moreover, they were only wearing a pair of sweatpants, not bothering with a top.
A refined woman leaned out from the driver’s seat of the sports car, waved to Rosalind, and shouted, "Rosalind, the guys are here. My dad’s rushing to go on a blind date, so I’m heading back!"
Rosalind waved back at her, called the four male models over, and raised an eyebrow at Elara, "How about it? My bro told to find handso ones for you, are you satisfied with these four? If all four co at once, it should be more than enough."
Looking at the four virile n in front of her, Elara suddenly laughed.
In the end, she underestimated Mason’s limits...
If he doesn’t love her, he doesn’t love her, but did he really have to humiliate her like this, stomp her dignity into the mud, shred it to pieces, before he’d be satisfied?
She hoarsely spoke, "Tell your brother, I’m very satisfied with these four, extrely satisfied... I’ve long been tired of seeing his face, given the chance to enjoy such handso guys, who cares about him anymore..."
If this was what Mason wanted to hear, then so be it.
Anyway, Supervisor Chambers was almost here. Once he arrived, she’d be able to escape...
Not far away, in a slowly approaching Bentley, Zion Fitzwilliam’s gaze suddenly paused and he frowned, "Stop at the next intersection."
The car gradually drove by, he also saw clearly that the person sitting by the roadside was indeed Elara!
It was just, why did she look so off?
Moreover, there was Rosalind by her side, along with four unfamiliar n...
Zion Fitzwilliam instructed his assistant in a deep voice, "You all head back to the company first, postpone the morning eting till after lunch."
The car stopped by the roadside, he opened the door and strode towards Elara.
