Upon hearing about the police report and the surveillance check, Rosalind Jacobs’s arrogance diminished, and she looked at Mason Jacobs with so guilt, "Brother..."

Having his sister make a ss, of course Mason Jacobs, as her brother, wouldn’t stand idly by. He stepped out and looked at Elara Hale, "I’ll compensate for the losses incurred, forget about calling the police, it’s too ugly, not good for you either."

Although it was phrased like a discussion, the tone allowed no refusal.

Elara Hale heard the implicit warning in his words and nodded silently.

The Jacobs Family holds a high status in Northgarde; she dared not and could not act rashly.

Later, Rosalind Jacobs compensated, and the staff cleaned up the scene.

Elara Hale and Zion Fitzwilliam didn’t linger further and left side by side.

After such a commotion, neither of them felt like continuing to shop, so they pushed the shopping cart to the checkout.

The checkout line was long, and just as it was their turn, Mason Jacobs and the others happened to co and queue up as well.

Hearing the price from the scanner, Rosalind Jacobs said snidely, "So people, after leaving my brother, really live too miserably, can’t even afford a decent bed sheet. A hundred-dollar bed sheet is also for people to sleep on?"

Elara Hale isn’t a temperless clay figure, but facing the Jacobs Family, she has no grounds to lose her temper, so she simply lowered her head and pretended not to hear.

Zion Fitzwilliam looked at the silent Elara Hale, his black eyes deepened, and suddenly he spoke aningfully, "So people, even after soone’s already divorced her brother, she still acts all pretentious, jumping around like a hen."

Rosalind Jacobs was angry and embarrassed, "Who are you calling a hen? Say it again!"

Zion Fitzwilliam raised his eyebrow, looked over sowhat unexpectedly, "I didn’t ntion any nas, why do you insist on identifying yourself with it? Are you like that?"

"You!"

Rosalind Jacobs was about to scold with her hands on her hips but was silenced by Mason Jacobs’s glare, "Shut up! Isn’t it embarrassing enough?"

Rosalind Jacobs stomped her foot in dissatisfaction, "Brother, Elara Hale is using a gigolo to step on your face, I can’t swallow this!"

Mason Jacobs’s thin lips tightened as he coldly looked at the figures not far away.

How could he swallow this either?

However, thinking of the appointnt with the boss of Aethel Insurance that his assistant had arranged for the day after tomorrow, his lips curved slightly.

No worries, it wouldn’t be long before Elara Hale would beg him rcifully.

From the ti she left the supermarket, Elara Hale remained silent. Zion Fitzwilliam looked down at her, "Feeling bad?"

Elara Hale smiled bitterly without disguise, "Mm."

Giving up soone you love deeply and losing a heartfelt relationship is like cutting a bone to heal; how could it not hurt or be distressing?

Pausing, she looked gratefully at Zion Fitzwilliam, "Thank you for speaking up for earlier, but..."

She feared Mason Jacobs might vent his anger on him.

Zion Fitzwilliam seed to see through her worry, unconcerned, "Don’t worry, the boss and I are relatives, besides, I’m the sales champion of our departnt, your ex-husband can’t touch easily."

His voice was deep and strong, soothing Elara Hale’s worries strangely.

Upon returning ho, Zion Fitzwilliam considerately let her take a shower first. After Elara Hale finished showering, she hesitated for a mont before locking the bedroom door.

The next morning, Elara Hale was set to report to the company. Before leaving, she saw Zion Fitzwilliam coming out of the bedroom in pajamas, she was sowhat puzzled, "Doesn’t your insurance company require office attendance?"

Zion Fitzwilliam paused briefly, then naturally nodded with an "mm."

Elara Hale didn’t think much of it, envying, "Really free, I’m leaving first."

New employees attend training upon joining, these concepts were smooth sailing for Elara Hale, and the morning passed swiftly, she was just about to buy lunch when her phone suddenly rang.

She picked it up, "Hello?"

In her ear was Mason Jacobs’s mother’s furious shrill voice.

"Elara Hale! My son divorced you, why did you let your wretched mother co to my house? Are you trying to ruin my son’s life?"

Elara Hale was taken aback, "What are you saying? My mom went to see you?"

Kylie Dalton cursed indignantly, "Don’t play dumb! If it weren’t for your instigation, why would she show up at the Jacobs Family? You mother and daughter are all bad! A family of leeches! Even divorced you still want to feed off my son!"

Elara Hale sighed lightly, "I’ll co over imdiately."

Afternoon training starts at two-thirty, and it’s only eleven-thirty now, three hours—enough.

She rushed downstairs, hailed a taxi, considering the urgency, she couldn’t worry about spending money.

"Driver, to Aethelgard Villa District, please hurry."

"No problem!"

The driver hit the gas, and the car sped away.

Elara Hale felt anxious and uneasy, why would Yvette Somrs suddenly go to the Jacobs Villa?

Could it be that the family is low on money again? But she just transferred over ten thousand last month...

Or perhaps Aidan Somrs has stirred up trouble again? Did Dad know Yvette Somrs went to the Jacobs Family?

Her mind was a ss, hoping the taxi would speed up, praying silently for Yvette Somrs not to escalate matters to an irreparable state.

Fortunately, it’s a workday, no traffic jams, after half an hour, the taxi stopped outside Aethelgard Villa District.

Elara Hale paid and got off.

She lived here for two years, the security recognized her, and while swiping open the entrance, he greeted with a smile, "Mrs. Jacobs, go right in, your mother ca today."

Elara Hale said a low "thank you" and quickly walked inside.

From afar, she could see outside the Jacobs Villa, Yvette Somrs like a madwoman, clutching the iron gate, hysterically cursing.

"Back then you begged to marry my daughter! Now just because she can’t have children, you kick her out? There’s no such reasoning in this world!"

"Fine, divorce! With no money? Impossible! Want to play with my daughter for two years for free, why? I’m telling you, either pay money today or get remarried, otherwise this isn’t over!"

Elara Hale’s steps paused; she always knew Yvette Somrs wasn’t easy to deal with, but such filthy words she hadn’t heard before.

Is it because she divorced, no longer had backing, revealing true colors?

Two property staff were beside each other, faced with no ideas after advising for long, yet unable to leave it unattended.

Seeing Elara Hale, both sighed with relief, instinctively wanting to address her as "Mrs. Jacobs," but rembering the mad woman’s words about the divorce and felt awkward.

Elara Hale apologized to them first, "Sorry for the trouble, I’ll take her away promptly."

The property staff didn’t want to get involved in such chaos either, after a few reminders, they left.

Yvette Somrs turning around saw Elara Hale, and her arrogance surged, "Elara, perfect timing, open the door! These bastards actually dare to lock outside, I need to go in and argue properly!"

Elara Hale didn’t want to tear things with her face, she tried speaking nicely, "Auntie Yvette, the divorce was my decision, we now have nothing to do with the Jacobs Family, there’s nothing to argue about, go back, don’t make trouble."
