Chapter 1265: Chapter 541: Extrely Plain Painting

When the Spirit Summoning Tower flew to Avalon, according to the previous agreent, it landed at Eagle Cape Village, and Aiwass quickly ca from Glass Island.

Aiwass went to Eagle Cape Village along the way, greeted the friends and elders he t last year, and told them about the Spirit Summoning Tower landing nearby.

It seems like it was last year when he last visited Eagle Cape Village. Yet everyone still rembered Aiwass.

After all, he is a rare prominent figure in this small village. But despite this, the villagers were not afraid or flattering towards Aiwass—they treated him like a familiar family’s child, with affinity and naturalness, which made Aiwass feel quite good.

It’s quite like the feeling of going back ho on a holiday from studying in another place and greeting amiable neighbors.

Although this isn’t Aiwass’s ho, it gave him a sense of “being ho.”

Perhaps because they’ve seen The Wild Hunt every day, the residents of Eagle Cape Village are very calm and accepting of the undead. Hearing that Necromancers will be settling nearby, rather than feeling fearful, they’re curious; however, hearing that a group of young lads and girls might frequently visit Eagle Cape Village in the future, everyone in the village felt happy.

It’s rare to encounter people from the Material Realm here—even if these people don’t seem very Material Realm-like—but it’s better than being visited by The Wild Hunt.

After speaking with the villagers, Aiwass went to visit the Spirit Summoning Tower.

He rembered—

The vice principal, whose na sounded like he failed the art exams and was about to fight a second battle, left Aiwass a gift—or legacy—saying that if he could successfully defeat the Fallen Celestial Marshal, he could co claim it.

This indeed made Aiwass a bit interested. He originally intended to just complete the agreent, but now it seems… it might really be a good thing?

The old Lich sent Aiwass a ssage after the Spirit Summoning Tower had finished its long journey.

At the ti, Aiwass curiously asked him what Vice Principal Adolf had left him, but the old man insisted Aiwass should co see for himself.

Then, co he did.

This ti greeting Aiwass into the Spirit Summoning Tower was no longer Adolf.

It was soone who seed rather familiar.

“Albert, long ti no see.”

Aiwass greeted with a smile.

This young Necromancer, who shared a na with his father-in-law, judging by his robe, seed to have inherited the title of Black Chancellor… although now that the Spirit Summoning Tower has left Star Antimony, he could no longer be called “Pri Minister.”

“Sir, long ti no see!”

Albert Lorey looked at Aiwass with great respect and zeal—evidently excited about Aiwass’s victory over the Fallen Celestial Marshal.

More than most Avalonians, who don’t have a clear concept of the Fallen Celestial Marshal, Albert is one of the few who clearly understands Aiwass’s clout.

“Just call Aiwass,” Aiwass corrected the overly humble speech, “Mr. Grunevald doesn’t usually manage affairs; from now on, you will be the Tower Master of the Spirit Summoning Tower. We are equals… I may need your help in the future.”

“But…”

Albert was instead sowhat hesitant.

“What’s there to be nervous about, dropping into Avalon won’t give you Authority properties, will it?”

Aiwass patted him on the shoulder and smoothly changed the topic: “What about the girl?”

“… Who?”

Albert hesitated for a mont.

Because he didn’t know whether Aiwass was referring to Aurora or Christina.

“The girl you like,” Aiwass said.

“… Aurora, is it?”

Albert’s face turned red, realizing he seed to have given himself away.

He turned his head slightly, shifting the topic as he led Aiwass inside: “She went with the Amber Master to learn Preservation Arts. It’s rare for the master to recognize her talent… they’ve gone to the Eternal Frost Empire, apparently to help her complete a heritage ceremony.”

“Impressive,” Aiwass praised, “You inherited Mr. Adolf’s legacy, and Aurora inherited the Amber Master’s Preservation Arts. You are the future of the Spirit Summoning Tower.”

This ti Albert was not humble.

He simply replied earnestly: “I will continue to inherit this legacy.”

Aiwass nodded with a smile.

Albert took Aiwass to the preservation room he had once visited before—it’s a “freezer” where external ti is halted using the Witch Demon Life Box, thus able to preserve items permanently. Adolf Von nzel’s legacy left for Aiwass was stored here by him.

Albert applied a certification spell to Aiwass, then let him in.

And just upon entering the preservation room… Aiwass slightly widened his eyes.

—It was a Demonic Painting.

Aiwass had seen many Demonic Paintings.

But those were created by “Art Maestros.” Except for the cara-like Master Yanis inclined towards the Path of Balance, and Isabel, who had inherited Master Yanis’s art theories.

But the Demonic Painting before him now was made by the “mysterious painter” inclined towards the Path of Dusk.

——How can one describe this painting?

It is an extrely pale painting.

It seems to be imbued with every color, yet devoid of all colors.

It appears as a purely white canvas, but whiter than white. If one mixes many colors, the result is a dense black, like the night; but if one mixes many lights, what is produced is a whiteness like the day. Thus, it can be concluded that color is sothing contrary to light, a trace of absence of light.

——And this demonic painting before us is a work crafted using “light” as its pignt.

Aiwass gazed at that extrely pale painting, advancing slowly.

Unconsciously, a radiance ignited in his eyes, turning them into a glass-like transparency.

As Aiwass took steps, the white canvas reflected illusions, scenes like mirages——

A humanoid charcoal being burned at the stake;

A rose that blooms and withers;

A finch flying past a branch;

A candelabra holding one black and one white candle on its two sides;

A baby wrapped in swaddling clothes;

A snake biting its own tail…

It’s not just a change with every step, but with every “fra” closer to it, a completely different simple painting appears. These paintings stack together, narrating life and depicting truth.

The closer Aiwass got, the more transparent his pupils beca.

A golden light seed to overflow from the depths of his pupils, exuding a divine radiance.

From that snow-like paleness, Aiwass saw a not-yet-born sun.

When the countless illusions before his eyes dissipated, he happened to stand before the painting and reached out to touch it gently.

Naturally, the system did not display any prompts. After all, it is just a painting… It contains the power of the Path of Dusk, but it is rely on the level of the Golden Dawn.

However, Aiwass held this painting in high regard.

Not because those illusions seed like parables or revelations… but because he seed to vaguely sense a distinct divinity from it!

This filled Aiwass with dread.

…This implies that the materials used to create this painting even include Adolf’s soul and mory.

Aiwass had originally thought Adolf would ascend to the Dream Realm——with his rits and abilities, becoming an envoy of the Winter Celestial was almost guaranteed.

Yet Adolf rejected this possibility.

He severed his own future.

Using his soul and mories——at the cost of his complete annihilation, he created this painting. In other words, the pignt of this painting is a “voluntary offering of everything by an angel envoy.” Sacrificing everything… it was a complete act of “dedication,” even more consummate than Sister Sasha’s sacrifice.

——The act of dedication will illuminate radiance; pure void, however, will bring darkness.

Even Sister Sasha only offered up her hands, feet, eyes, and skin!

Yet he had forsaken everything completely.

Even the Eternal Self retained the purest self after discarding ten tis…

But he willingly plunged into the void.

Leaving no path of return, even severing the possibility of being revived… preferring to beco fuel, to turn into void, all to allow Aiwass to ascend higher.

Yet they were scarcely acquainted… and because of this, the “dedication” in this painting was so intense. It even overwheld the void, hence the excessively pale appearance of the painting.

Aiwass did not know what other materials were used in this painting… but he vaguely sensed the triple miracle power of “love and void,” “beauty and dusk,” “dedication and transcendence” from it. If Adolf provided the void, beauty, dedication, dusk… Then he must have obtained the power of “love” and “transcendence” from elsewhere.

——Did he make the Red Chancellor a material?

Such a thought surfaced in Aiwass’s mind.

Though Aiwass did not know how exactly to use this painting, without a doubt, the contradictory divinity within it was enough to allow Aiwass to ascend to the Celestial Marshal, or even step onto higher ground.

“…Let’s leave the painting here.”

Aiwass stepped back half a step, softly saying to Albert: “Be sure to preserve it well.”

If there is a place safest within the Material Realm, it would probably be the preservation room of the Spirit Summoning Tower.

This painting is too precious for Aiwass to dare take it away from here.

He had a very clear premonition.

If one day he must use this painting…

Perhaps it would be when Aiwass plans to confront the Serpent Celestial Marshal, or against the end of the world.
