Rachel Sherman withdrew her gaze; she didn’t have the courage to look at him because she could clearly feel Chase Fletcher’s affection for her during these days.

But she...how could she dare to hope?

A divorced, ordinary woman with a child...doesn’t dare to hope for love again.

Yet falling for soone is an instinct.

Chase Fletcher noticed her retreat and embarrassnt, and he approached her with a scarf, standing in front of her, he gently wrapped the scarf around her neck, thoughtfully tying it for her.

Rachel slowly raised her eyes, looking at him so close, she could feel his breath and his long fingers helping her to tie the scarf.

She originally wanted to refuse, but her body seed to be controlled by sothing, reacting a bit slowly, and when she wanted to refuse, she found herself relying on this feeling.

"It’s done."

After helping her with the scarf, the man took a gentlemanly step back and said in a gentle voice, "I’m giving you this scarf, hoping you’ll like it."

The warmth of his fingers lingered on her neck, and Rachel then realized it was a couple’s scarf.

Identical to the one he was wearing.

"Chase, thank you for taking care of and June during this ti." Rachel felt quite apologetic, she pursed her lips and lowered her gaze.

She didn’t know what to say to him for a mont.

He had helped her a lot, and it wasn’t good to keep avoiding him.

Yet she could clearly sense his affection for her...

Chase Fletcher looked at her and softly asked, "Is there nothing else you want to say to ?"

In the dimly lit evening, they stood in the snow, and the atmosphere around them beca sowhat ambiguous.

Rachel understood his aning, she thought for a mont, then raised her eyes to look at him, "Chase, I don’t want to waste your ti, I am divorced with a child..."

"Even if you don’t waste it, soone else will." The man gently interrupted, sincerely gazing at her, "Are you willing to let soone else waste it?"

"..."

His words touched the deepest part of Rachel’s heart, causing a faint ache in her chest.

He looked into her eyes, hoping for a definite answer.

Perhaps when she had just divorced, at the lowest point in her emotions and career, this man appeared in her life like a beam of light.

But...

Rachel tried hard to control her emotions; she couldn’t easily respond to this heavy feeling.

So, Rachel passed by him and ran towards the apartnt entrance, choosing avoidance due to her lack of courage.

Her figure quickly disappeared from the man’s sight; she didn’t even wait for the elevator and directly ran to the stairwell...

This made Chase Fletcher feel sad, but he didn’t chase after her.

Because he was mature and rational, he would give her enough ti and space...

A while later.

He withdrew his thoughts, feeling a bit sad, he raised his eyes and looked at the building in front of him.

Counting the floor where she lived with his gaze, looking at the bright light through the window, he felt infinite yearning.

Feeling a bit lonely, Chase Fletcher turned and returned to his car.

He started the car, driving aimlessly, not heading in the direction of ho.

He didn’t turn on the heating in the car, and even opened the window in the middle of winter.

The cold wind blew in, tousling his hair, making him more and more clear-headed, recalling the scene of the first ti he t Rachel Sherman, to later appearing in her life repeatedly...

Every detail of their interactions was vivid in his mory.

He didn’t know when he started liking her, perhaps feeling sorry is liking?

He cared about Rachel Sherman and felt sorry for her.

After driving around briefly, he finally stopped at the entrance of Rachel’s community again, looking at the security booth, the beautiful entrance to the community, he inexplicably beca entranced by her again.

When Rachel returned ho, the nanny told her June had just fallen asleep.

So, she took her clothes into the bathroom, filled the bathtub with water, and took a hot bath...

Lying in the warm water, looking at the lamp shrouded in mist, thinking of Chase Fletcher, her eyelids unknowingly felt a bit sore...

Slowly closing her eyes, she suddenly felt very sad.

Yes, she had also fallen for this charming man, but the disparity in their statuses was too great, she didn’t even dare to think about it.
