Bai Fu's gun skills were terrible. Even though she had been practicing for a while, she still didn't asure up in real combat.
Considering the dangerous situation she was now facing, she had decided to use her remaining free profession slot to learn a gunman profession.
This profession didn't need to be leveled up very high. Earning so attribute points and unlocking a few skills that could enhance shooting accuracy would be sufficient, so it wouldn't slow down the leveling speed of her first profession.
The profession system in Stars Above didn't limit the total number of professions players could learn, but at the initial stage, it only gave players three free profession slots. Once all three slots were filled, learning a new profession would require spending so Experience Value to unlock a new slot.
Unlocking the first new profession slot was not expensive, only costing ten thousand Experience Points, so Bai Fu wasn't worried about coming across a better profession and not being able to learn it.
Only ten thousand Experience Points.
For her at present, just killing three elite monster levels of Elite Killers would be enough to accumulate that amount. If the opponent was of the caliber she had just been taunting over the intercom, perhaps one would suffice.
The strength of that person might not necessarily be stronger than the three assassins she had just eliminated, but the experience awarded by the ga for killing monsters wasn't solely based on the monster's strength. Instead, it was calculated by considering multiple dinsions such as the monster's strength, level, template, and identity.
Take the mysterious and unpredictable chairman of the Truth Society for example; even if his real strength was only equal to one An Ya, due to his identity boost, the Experience Points a player would get from killing him would far surpass what all the An Yas combined could offer.
Bai Fu was anticipating what rewards the person she had angrily taunted would bring her.
Unfortunately, she squatted on the fourth floor for more than ten minutes until her legs went numb and still hadn't seen him co.
She was a bit speechless.
She had openly mocked him on public frequency, listened firsthand as her subordinates were taken down, and after all was said and done, he just threw out threats and hid like a turtle.
"You've learned the art of strategic ass-power as well?"
Bai Fu suspected that the man in his past life must have hung around dog heads, as the few threatening words he spat over the intercom ant—
Do you know who you've provoked? You've provoked the majestic Desert Reaper! Brag all you want now, the day I gather enough Q and co out, is the day you'll regret!
Her assessnt was that the idea was wonderful, but she wasn't a fragile, support type; she was a full at setup as the Emperor of the Desert.
This is the story of the Emperor of Sand (Bai Fu) and her N number of independently equipped and upgradeable sand soldiers (players) dealing with the Desert Reaper.
Bai Fu put away the artillery launcher, and during this process, there were already shouts coming from downstairs.
People rushed over.
Leading the way was Xia Shi, her face full of urgency, especially after seeing the bodies of the Elite Killers, her worry for the safety of Bai Fu and An Ya increased.
"Why does it have to be now!?"
She was about to rush into the stairwell when a special agent in power armor grabbed her arm from behind.
"Have you forgotten the rules taught by the Intelligence Bureau? The assassin might still be around. Charging in recklessly is equivalent to marching to your death. Just stay quietly behind ."
Xia Shi wanted to retort, but her strength was no match for the power armor, and she could only comply.
Bai Fu, An Ya, you guys better not be dead!
The group of about a dozen people inspected the Elite Killer's body with a grave expression and carefully proceeded up the stairs, being extrely cautious with every step for fear of assassins suddenly attacking in the darkness, yet nothing out of the ordinary happened as they neared Xia Shi's residence.
The agent in power armor motioned for the others not to act rashly with a wave of his hand, signaling he would go in first to check the situation.
After everyone gave their OK, he walked towards the door with steady steps, but after just two steps, he stopped.
Footsteps!
In that instant, all the intelligence agents present held their breath, staring intently at the shadow projected from the room.
The footsteps were getting closer.
The agent in power armor raised his left arm, where a heavy rotary cannon was mounted. If the person inside showed their head, the heavy machine gun could certainly turn them into a beehive!
"Relax, it's ."
A woman's voice ca from inside the room at that mont.
Xia Shi was the first to react, "It's Bai Fu's voice!"
As the words were spoken, Bai Fu walked out of the room holding a cup of water, unfazed by the dozen guns aid at her.
"The hospitality here sure is special."
Seeing the smiling Bai Fu, the agents looked at each other in confusion.
They thought they had seen wrongly.
After receiving the news of the attack at Xia Shi's residence, most believed Bai Fu's chances were slim and even if they hurried over, they might only collect her body.
But now, not only was Bai Fu alive, she didn't even have a visible wound on her.
"The assassin didn't co after you?" asked the agent in power armor anxiously.
Bai Fu took a sip of water, "He did."
"Where are they?"
"You already saw one on the way up, right? The other two are lying near the garbage incinerator."
The agents didn't bother with anything else, they hurried downstairs again. When they saw the two neatly lying bodies near the corner wall, they were all shocked.
"I know this person, he is a level B certified assassin from the Dark Web, Hyena!"
