They slowly turned around — and froze in shock.

Standing before them was Aira.

Behind her stood several others, all ard. Swords glead in their hands, along with various weapons. The air felt tense.

When I saw them, my heart skipped a beat.

They ca looking for us.

"Aira... how did you know we were here?"

She looked at , slightly out of breath.

"When neither you nor Hinata showed up, I felt sothing was wrong. I couldn’t see either of you anywhere. I just... had a bad feeling. So I started searching."

I frowned. "But how did you know this exact place?"

She hesitated.

"It felt like soone was calling . I couldn’t understand it clearly. But a voice kept echoing in my ears... saying that Ayal and Hinata were in danger. I didn’t know what was happening, but I couldn’t ignore it."

Her words left confused.

Who could possibly send her our location?

"I’m just glad you two are safe," she said with relief.

Then her eyes fell on .

"Wait... Ayal. Why is your clothes covered in blood? Are you hurt?"

"No, no. I’m fine," I replied quickly. "Hinata and I accidentally ended up here. As soon as we arrived, a demon attacked us. I fought it... and barely managed to finish it with my sword."

Her eyes widened. "You defeated it... with your sword?"

"Yes."

"Can I see it?"

"Not now," she said quickly, shaking her head. "We need to leave this place first. It’s not safe."

Then she rushed toward Hinata.

"Hinata! Are you okay? Tell if you’re hurt."

Hinata looked at her gently. "I’m fine. I almost died... but Ayal saved ."

Aira blinked. "He... saved you?"

"Yes," Hinata replied, turning her face away slightly.

Her cheeks turned bright red.

Seeing that, I felt my own face heat up.

Truthfully... it was my first ti kissing soone.

I never imagined I would ever kiss anyone.

When I thought about it, my fingers unconsciously touched my lips. I could still rember the softness of hers. The warmth. The desperation of that mont.

Hinata’s face grew even redder.

The two of us standing there like that clearly didn’t go unnoticed.

Aira narrowed her eyes slightly.

"You two didn’t... do anything strange, did you?"

"N-no! Of course not!" Hinata and I said at the sa ti, both blushing furiously.

Our reaction only made it more suspicious.

Aira sighed. "Alright, alright. I get it. Nothing happened."

But the faint irritation in her eyes said otherwise.

"Let’s move," she continued. "Staying here could bring more trouble."

"Yes. There’s no reason to remain."

As we started walking away together, I couldn’t stop thinking—

If Aira ever found out that I kissed Hinata to save her life... what would happen?

Milia... what are you trying to make do?

How am I supposed to face Hinata after this?

We were all heading out of the area when I spoke up.

"Aira... we’re not inside the academy right now. Does everyone know we’re missing?"

"Yes," she answered calmly. "But only a few people know the details. Don’t worry."

I nodded.

"Then... I need to tell you sothing, Aira."

The words felt heavy in my chest.

And the night around us grew quieter.
