Blaze strolled over, taking off his long overcoat. He wrapped his arms around Luna from behind, resting his head on her shoulder.

"Grandpa’s fine. I just didn’t sleep well." His voice was soft and languid, tinged with drowsiness.

Before Luna, he had always slept alone.

She wasn’t there last night, and without her gentle fragrance, he found he couldn’t sleep.

Luna was caught off guard by Blaze’s sudden intimacy and could only let him hold her.

"Then you should stay ho and catch up on sleep. Have soone else go to the hospital to stay with Grandpa."

Her mother and Ms. Brooks hadn’t seen each other in two years, and she had already made plans with Lindsey. She couldn’t flake on them.

Blaze sighed deeply and nuzzled the crook of her neck, his voice low and hoarse. "Uncle Foster is there."

His warm breath ghosted across the sensitive skin of her neck, and Luna felt that spot instantly grow warm.

What’s more, Blaze’s intimate gesture made her heart pound for no reason at all.

"Luna." His low, magnetic voice called her na, intimate and lingering.

"Hm?"

She humd in response, but Blaze said nothing more, only placing a light kiss on the delicate skin behind her ear.

"Kiss ." His voice was very low.

Blaze almost never clung to her like this during the day.

Luna sensed that sothing was wrong with his mood. "Did sothing happen to Grandpa? Don’t keep it all to yourself."

"Mmph—"

The words had barely left her lips before Blaze’s mouth sealed them shut with a kiss.

He held her jaw, his kiss gentle and lingering, like the sweet nothings whispered between lovers.

Luna stood still, her soft lips savored for a long mont before he easily coaxed her tongue to join his.

Blaze’s breaths gradually deepened into gasps, an occasional low groan rumbling in his throat, sending Luna’s senses into a dizzying whirl.

When Blaze’s kiss was light, she felt like a cloud in the sky, floating weightlessly.

When he deepened the kiss, it was as if he wanted to draw all the air from her lungs.

Luna’s body gradually went soft, her full weight pressing against his chest before he reluctantly let her go.

Luna’s alluring eyes were filled with emotion, her cheeks burning, as she leaned against his chest to catch her breath.

Against her ear, she could hear his strong, powerful heartbeat.

Luna’s red, swollen lips curved into a slight smile.

’So, Blaze’s heart races when he kisses, too.’

In the walk-in closet, the two of them held each other for a long ti, until their breathing returned to normal.

"You should go get so sleep." She needed to hurry and change so she could leave.

"I’m already recharged."

"Huh?" Luna was confused.

Blaze chuckled softly, leaned down to kiss her forehead, and said in a gentle voice, "I missed you, so I ca back."

Her heart skipped a beat.

In a daze, it felt as if a stone had dropped into the stream in front of the courtyard with a soft PLUNK.

Blaze cupped her face. Her skin was fair, her lips red, and her beautiful eyes, glistening like autumn pools, reflected only him.

He loved the way her eyes were filled with him, as if her body and soul were all his.

"Mrs. Fairchild, co back to earth."

Hearing his voice, Luna instinctively lowered her gaze, trying to avoid his burning stare.

But Blaze was cupping her face, leaving her no escape, so she could only say softly, "I should get ready to go out."

"Alright." Blaze’s eyebrows lifted, any hint of fatigue completely gone.

Luna pushed him out of the walk-in closet. "I need to change."

The aning was clear: he wasn’t allowed to watch.

Blaze understood. As the door closed, he leaned against the fra with his arms crossed, chuckling softly to himself.

"Those s you sent last night, where did you get them all?"

Blaze’s voice ca through the crack of the door, and Luna could still hear him clearly.

"Lindsey sent them to ."

Besides Lindsey, she didn’t have many friends, so the s could only have co from Lindsey’s collection.

’Why is Blaze asking about this? Does he not like s?’

’Who sends ssages without a few s these days?’

Blaze said nothing more. It seed she really didn’t have any other friends.

"When you’re changed, we’ll leave together. I’ll drop you guys off first, then head to the hospital."

"Okay."

Caleb was with her, and they would need a spacious minivan to fit everyone.

Otherwise, the five of them would have to take two cabs.

Jenna Axton hadn’t seen Ms. Brooks in a long ti, and she was in high spirits on the way to et her dear friend.

In the twenty-plus years she had lived in Kensing, Ms. Brooks was her only friend.

Caleb pulled the car over to the side of the road, and Jenna Axton eagerly got out.

The good friends embraced, so excited they were nearly incoherent.

"Ms. Axton, congratulations on your recovery."

"Ms. Brooks, you were finally willing to leave Kensing."

Blaze got out of the car after Luna.

He was the CEO, after all. Running into her boss outside of work, Joy Coleman was still reserved.

"Hello, Mr. President."

Blaze nodded. "Hello, Attorney Coleman."

Luna heard his voice and only then realized he had gotten out of the car with them.

’Isn’t he supposed to be going to the hospital to stay with Grandpa? Why did he get out?’

She introduced him to Mr. Coleman, who was watching them with a gentle smile.

"Mr. Coleman, this is my husband, Blaze Fairchild."

"He’s also my boss," Joy Coleman added.

When Mr. Coleman heard this, the many questions in his eyes vanished.

He stepped forward to shake Blaze’s hand. "Our family truly has you to thank for Lindsey being able to buy a house in Valoria."

Blaze shook Mr. Coleman’s hand and smiled. "It was Attorney Coleman’s good fortune."

He then asked, "Have you found a designer for the renovation? I happen to be remodeling recently and have so trustworthy designers I could introduce to you."

Mr. Coleman was a simple man. Three million was already a huge bargain, and he didn’t feel right taking advantage of Blaze’s generosity again and again.

He refused Blaze’s offer. "We’ll take our ti."

Blaze said frankly, "Luna only has one friend, Lindsey. Once the house is renovated and has had ti to air out, you’ll have your own place to stay when you co to Valoria. It’s more affordable and comfortable than a hotel."

Mr. Coleman refused verbally, but Blaze was too enthusiastic. He cast a pleading look toward Joy Coleman and Ms. Brooks.

Just as Joy Coleman was about to refuse, Jenna Axton overheard their conversation.

The Hepatology Hospital case was over, and the extra money she had paid during her hospitalization had been refunded. She had money now.

When she was in trouble, her friends helped her. Now that she was healthy, she had no other use for the money.

"Let’s just listen to Blaze," Jenna Axton said, gripping Ms. Brooks’s hand. "When I was sick, you didn’t say a word and just transferred two hundred thousand directly into my account. Lindsey buying a house is a wonderful thing. I’ve watched her grow up. Our two families shouldn’t distinguish between what’s yours and what’s mine. Let us pay for the renovation."

Jenna Axton understood Blaze’s intentions. He was the type to take practical action; his care and affection were always expressed through concrete deeds.

He was only doing this because he hoped Luna could stay in touch with Lindsey.

Luna wasn’t a very proactive person, so it was a blessing for her to have an outgoing friend like Lindsey.

Ms. Brooks was hesitant but clearly tempted. "Is this really okay?"

Joy Coleman found it hard to refuse such generosity and looked toward Luna.

"Let’s settle it then. Lindsey promised to save a room for , after all," Luna said, making the decision.

Ms. Brooks thought for a mont. This was how good friends got by, wasn’t it? Helping each other out.

Ms. Brooks had a straightforward personality, so she agreed. "Alright, alright. There are four rooms, so there will definitely be one for you."

Blaze’s expression relaxed. "I’m usually busy with work, and there are many ways I’m not thoughtful enough toward Luna. With Attorney Coleman around, she’ll have soone else to talk to. Compared to my contribution, Attorney Coleman is the one who has put in more effort."

Ms. Brooks’s gaze fell on the two girls. "They grew up together. They were so close they’d share a single skirt—one would wear it Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and the other Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. They’re used to having each other around."

They were all sincere people. After what Blaze said, the way Ms. Brooks looked at him softened.

When she first heard from Lindsey that Luna had gotten married and pregnant, she had been furious.

But now, looking at the Blaze before her, it was clear that while he was ostensibly helping them, his affection for Luna naturally extended to the people around her.

"Well, you all have fun. I have to get going," Blaze said, taking his leave.

After getting in the car, he rolled down the window and waved to everyone, his reluctant gaze lingering on Luna.

Once the car was far away, the atmosphere beca much more natural.
