"Sanien, so what about a deal?" Cail said. "If it involves killing , then we need to improvise! Just tell what the plan was and I’ll help you execute it."
He had the key. He tried to sense sothing from it to let him leave the rift, but nothing happened. He had no idea how to use it. He had asked Sellene before, but she was also clueless.
Before finding a tear, he might as well have so fun.
The abomination felt a rollercoaster of emotions. He thought that psychopath Virehn was one of a kind, but he got a feeling that he seed to be facing sothing worse.
He hadn’t said the plan yet, but he couldn’t help but comnt, "Perhaps, have you ever thought of destroying your world?" His mory was very vague now, but he had an impression where he got this feeling of familiarity.
It was when he realized that Virehn was a psychopath.
"This psycho... He doesn’t have the sa thoughts as Virehn, right?"
Cail felt that the question was a bit abrupt, but since this guy provided him entertainnt, he answered thoughtfully, "No. Before, I didn’t plan on destroying it. I thought it was still fun. But if I lost my interest... maybe? Well, that was before. Now that I entered the rift, destroying the world is probably not an option anymore."
Just as the abomination thought that this guy was finally awakened to the horrors of a ruined world, Cail continued.
"If I destroy the world, then I’ve got a feeling that I’ll be Virehn’s copycat... I don’t like that." Then Cail thought deeply. "Besides, I’ve already seen what a ruined world looked like. It killed my curiosity. It’s boring and quiet."
Those were just ideas of Cail. He actually was not sure what he would do with the world after he got bored, but the chances of him squeezing the last drop of entertainnt were pretty high. As for now, he had no ability to do that, but Cail knew that the reason why he would feel bored was probably when he was already too powerful and knowledgeable.
Now that this thought crossed his mind, Cail wondered, "If I didn’t enter this rift... would I follow Virehn’s footprints?" Although he couldn’t follow Virehn’s thods (he is not exactly academic), maybe they had the sa template, but different fonts.
Actually, Cail understood Virehn’s feelings of wanting to kill his ’other self’, but understanding doesn’t an he’s happy about it.
The abomination looked like he had given up on the world after he heard Cail’s response. Cail had no idea why he was so pessimistic. Cail felt that he had a lot of room to grow.
"Now that I answered your question... your turn. You haven’t told what the plan is," Cail said as he rested his head on the cold ice.
He thought that the abomination would continue to resist, but it unexpectedly spilled the beans. "I’m the last piece of the puzzle of the God. You have the key. We need that to open the passage..."
Cail frowned. Sothing didn’t add up. If that guy Virehn hated him so much, opening the gate was probably not as harmless as it seed.
He looked at his wrist. The mark of the key was still there. It was on the opposite arm of his space.
Cail had an idea. He looked at the guy in the coffin with shiny eyes (it wasn’t visible). "You probably need to kill yourself right after the gate opens."
The abomination wasn’t surprised that he guessed it. "Yes. I’d only be able to kill myself and beco part of that God after you open the gate."
Cail tapped the ice coffin. "You know what made you able to survive after all of this? Your ability seems to be regeneration, right?"
"Yes..." The abomination had a bad feeling. "Why are you asking that?"
Cail didn’t answer, but his voice was eager. "Co, co! Let see! Where is it?"
The abomination couldn’t move his hands freely, so he had to dictate. "It’s on my chest part. A very small marble. Once you open the gate, I can command it to shatter, thus killing myself."
"If we dig it out without shattering... will you still die and fuse with the God?" This ti, a plan was forming in Cail’s mind.
"Technically... yes. But what are you gonna do with it?" The abomination was confused as to why these details were important.
Cail didn’t answer, but his eyes were on the location of the marble. His artifact was not working this efficiently this ti. Not because it was malfunctioning, but because Cail’s eye couldn’t carry that much. aning, he was already straining.
GOOD. Cail felt happy about what he was seeing.
He clapped his hands, a usual gesture for him when excited. "This is great! But first, how about I give you a deal?"
"Now, before we proceed with your god-awakening plan," Cail said, almost rubbing his hands together like a scheming rchant ready to unload cursed goods, "I’d love to introduce you to so of my very special goods. Limited edition artifacts! One-of-a-kind. Very legit! You only have to pay a very small price!"
Cail had a plan. This was such a good investnt! He couldn’t just throw away such a good pawn! He was also a bit inspired by Virehn. Although this trade-in-the-box didn’t seem to have a contract function, he realized that it seed to have a hold on the client. Although he hadn’t explored that function yet, it was sothing he planned to try now.
"rging with a God! Do you think you can still survive and retain your sanity?" Cail continued his sales pitch. "You survived this long... are you giving up? Are you willing to lose your consciousness?"
The abomination was straight to the point. "I want to die."
Cail wasn’t discouraged! He was a very will-driven salesman. "Well... what if I tell you, you can et with Virehn?"
The abomination’s eyes shifted. Cail sensed that he seed to have stroked so already dying fire. He continued letting it ignite.
"Is that the end of your persistence? I have a way to keep you alive while inside the God."
Although Cail had no idea how he would let this guy et Virehn, he already had a counterasure that would restrict this guy from harming him. Cail wanted a ta dog, not a feral one. He understood the implication of controlling a God, but he was not the type to back down from a challenge.
