The ice coffin creaked. The abomination inside was silent. He was staring at Cail. If it weren’t for the ice, he would have jumped at Cail and bitten him.
Looking at those foggy eyes, Cail knew that although this man could communicate, he was probably not that sane anymore. After all those years of imprisonnt and torture, one would be surprised to know how much a person’s views could change.
"You’re not saying anything anymore?" Cail knocked on the coffin.
That knock triggered sothing. The abomination slamd his head again and again inside the ice.
Cail noticed that he seed to be weakened after his body was sliced. I guess that’s a good discovery.
"Why are you so agitated? Not being able to fulfill Virehn’s orders... do you think he will still continue to give you what he promised?"
"So," Cail said lightly, "you still sulking there?"
"You know, even if you’re not, I’d say you’re pouting." His tone softened. It sounded very sweet... just like the tone he used when talking to Sellene before. "Poor little thing, left out in this barren world. Forgotten... Do you think Virehn will sit there and reminisce about his old project?"
The abomination quieted down. Cail didn’t care what it was thinking, but he continued, "You know what? The first ti we saw you, what we first felt was pity. How pathetic! A monster that doesn’t strike fear into humans’ hearts."
Then Cail laughed. It wasn’t a pleasant laugh, but a mocking one. "Seriously, though. What did he tell you to make you agree to this? Immortality? Glory? Becoming a god? What is this? Stockholm syndro?"
The abomination, who had been silent the entire ti, opened his mouth. "Why are you doing this?"
This guy... he could have just unraveled his secrets and dug for more information. Instead, he was here, mocking him and stabbing at his old scars.
Bloodshot eyes, heavy gurgling breathing. Hahahaha, Cail looked at his masterpiece in satisfaction. His palm ran across the ice coffin. "I hate you now. I didn’t hate you before, but I hate it when people sche behind my back."
"I don’t care if hiding a secret is rational. I hate it when people try to treat like an idiot."
The abomination expected himself to be the villain in this situation, but this guy... very unreasonable. "E—Even if I’m hiding sothing, that doesn’t necessarily an I’m treating—"
Cail’s aura suddenly shifted. He smacked the ice coffin. Not hard enough for it to shatter, but strong enough to startle the abomination.
Inside his helt, Cail’s eyes were cold. "Why are you yapping excuses?! I don’t care if that’s not your intention. If I perceive it that way, there’s nothing you can do about it."
"Your brain must be mush. Either from being sliced in half or because Virehn did sothing to it. But even if you’re not treating like an idiot, you’re treating like a pawn."
Cail hated it to death. He had been very irritated about Virehn the entire ti, but that scum wasn’t here. Now this guy had offered himself up as a stress reliever... this experience better be satisfying.
Then Cail paused. He looked at the organs on the floor. They had stopped moving and regenerating. Being away from the main body seed to kill them. Without those parts, Cail was a bit intrigued by how this guy still managed to be "alive."
His mood brightened. "Actually, I wanted to crack you open... I want to see what he really built. Although you look hideous, you are a work of art."
His voice softened, as if he were comforting the abomination.
Then he whispered through the ice, "You’re more fun this way. Alive."
That’s what Cail really felt. Did Virehn share the sa sentint when he decided to leave this guy alone?
Despite changing beliefs, he still had a clear goal. Truly a tough one.
The abomination was quiet once again. He felt a trendous fear coming from his soul. At first, he hadn’t noticed the reason why he always felt off about this guy. But when that woman got out, this guy showed his true colors.
It was a fear the abomination had almost forgotten. It had been stored deep within his core. When Virehn left, after wandering around here for many years and waiting for the man Virehn said held the key... he thought that his sense of fear had already vanished after facing that demon (Virehn).
But now, a strange man who appeared out of nowhere managed to provoke that fear. The abomination felt sick... a sensation he hadn’t felt for hundreds of years.
"Do you think he cried when he left you here?" Cail whispered. "Do you think he hesitated?"
That was a very ironic question. Despite its llow undertone, Cail’s words were dripping with sarcasm.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?!" The abomination quickly broke down. He knew he was being delusional. He knew he was holding onto a false hope... that Virehn would free him from his misery.
Deep down, he knew he was dood.
But now that the false hope had shattered, he felt himself losing his mind. The fear, anger, and hopelessness suffocated him. "I WANT TO LIVE! I WANT TO BE OUT OF MISERY! WHY? WHY? Why..."
His initial goal of antagonizing Virehn was to save people from his insanity. That was a good motive. But why was he rewarded like this?
Now that he had leaned to the other side, he still wasn’t successful. He felt that this was the end of it.
After seeing the abomination having a ntal breakdown, Cail wasn’t upset! He felt excited. Oh my, this is it! Make the fire burn more, more, MORE!
"That’s the spirit!" Cail clapped his hands. His aura once again shifted. A second ago, it was gentle and filled with pity; now it was filled with excitent... like a child who had been brought a new toy.
The abomination wanted to die, but he knew Virehn had done sothing to him. He couldn’t die beforehand fulfilling the task. He couldn’t help but think, Is he a psychopath magnet?
Cail didn’t care what he was thinking. "So, that’s it! That type of attitude is what I love!"
Then he chuckled. "You were too serious a while ago. I was just joking, hehehe. I’m not here to disrupt your plan..."
"You’re going to help finish what your ’master’ ordered you to do. It’s about the god, right? Don’t worry! I won’t stop you. I’ll help you." Cail smiled. Now he was acting like an ally.
Goodness, he had been thinking about how to deal with those fuckers outside. He was feeling sleepy, and soone gave him a pillow.
