Damn... damn! Damn!

Fang Anping cried out to himself as his gaze fell upon the appointnt slip that had smoothly floated before him. Its contents were practically identical to the one he had received at the window, with one crucial difference.

The first slip indicated "Outpatient Clinic," while the new one read "Oncology Departnt."

Fang Anping had spent an entire day in the laboratory and knew perfectly well that there was no oncology departnt in this building. And whatever was on his neck certainly wasn't a tumor!

The five rules were clearly and distinctly written on the board at the entrance, and he had studied them thoroughly.

This slip was not an invitation for an appointnt, but a death sentence. It was obvious that sothing anomalous had noticed his presence in the wrong departnt and was now following him.

Attempting to flee, Fang Anping looked back, and his pupils sharply contracted!

He clearly saw a black shadow beginning to seep out of the wall where he had recently been eavesdropping, rapidly spreading and moving towards him.

"It seems I only have one option left nowto go to the outpatient clinic!" Fang Anping instantly realized and ca up with the best solution.

According to the rules, if he received an appointnt slip for a departnt that didn't exist in the building, he was obligated to imdiately go to the outpatient clinic and hand the slip to the doctor.

The laboratory door was open. Fang Anping wanted to close it, but, thinking it might slow him down, decided to leave it open.

The current situation proved his decision was correct: an open door allowed him not to waste precious ti on trivialities like opening it.

As he ran out of the laboratory, it seed to him that he saw a ray of lighta glimr of hope for survival.

Fang Anping had seen this ray many tis before, and each ti he had managed to survive.

Knock-knock-knock!

Running to the outpatient clinic door, he began pounding with all his might, desperately shouting:

"Doctor, I need help!"

Knock-knock-knock! the sounds of his pounding continued.

Footsteps were heard from behind the door, followed by a young man's voice:

"There's already a patient inside the office. Please wait outside."

"What?!" Fang Anping's face paled. A patient was inside, and he was told to wait outside?

Wait for an appointnt? That was tantamount to waiting for death!

He quickly glanced back towards the laboratory, noticing no pursuit, but his uneasy premonition grew stronger. He felt that if he remained outside, he would surely be in danger.

Staying outside was not an option.

As soon as he realized this, he made the most sensible decision: try to get inside!

Boom! Boom!

"The door's locked?! Damn it!" Fang Anping's face turned chalk-white. He tried with all his might to open the door, but to no avail, and finally couldn't hold back, cursing.

A thought flashed through his mind. He suddenly rembered the young man he had t at the entrance.

It was only a little past eight, and the other laboratory staff shouldn't have left yet. This ant that the guy who had been standing at the door earlierBai Liangwas most likely inside!

Realizing this, Fang Anping took a deep breath and addressed the interior in a heavy tone:

"Hey, friend, could you open the door? I have a lot of information and rules I can share with you. Let in, and I'll tell you everything for free!"

He deliberately avoided using the word "cooperation," understanding that he was in a desperate situation and completely dependent on the other person. Showing humility was the best course of action.

Displaying pride under such circumstances would be sheer madness. People like him were willing to do anything just to survive!

However, despite his words, silence reigned behind the door. No one answered. It was as if there was no one inside at all.

"It seems he doesn't need my rules. He just wants to die..." Fang Anping thought, standing in grim silence.

He glared hatefully at the office door but refrained from making threats. Instead, his gaze shifted to the opposite sidetowards the operating room.

Besides the office, the only other place a doctor could be was the operating room.

Looking around, Fang Anping opened the operating room door and stepped inside.

Behind the office door's peephole, an eye flickered, slyly squinting as if in mockery.

Bai Liang stood behind the door, watching Fang Anping enter the operating room. Inside, there was no one but a single doctor.

According to the rules, this operating room was off-limits, and therefore...

"Ah?! Damn it!"

Fang Anping hadn't even fully stepped inside before he burst out monts later in a panic, completely disoriented.

However, he didn't even manage to cross the threshold before a black, clawed paw erged from the dark doorway. It resembled a scythe, instantly wrapping around his neck.

"No, don't! Save , help !" Fang Anping's eyes filled with despair. He stretched out a hand towards the door, as if trying to grasp onto sothing invisible. But life drained from him, like air through his fingers.

He was dragged back into the darkness of the operating room, followed by a piercing scream and the horrifying sound of breaking bones. All of it lasted only a few monts before silence descended.

【"Did that guy just die because of a trap?"】

【"Without a doubt. I already analyzed the situation. Bai Liang purposely went back to the window and highlighted his actions so that sothing sinister would know he violated the rules."】

【"Creepy. Murder without direct action. This is what player confrontation looks like in this world of horror."】

【"Bai Liang is too experienced. That guy simply couldn't win this ga."】

【"He had a clear mind, but he lacked luck. If he had entered the operating room correctly, that might have been the best solution."】

【"Ugh~ How terribly he died. Just from the scream, one can imagine how horrifying the scene was."】

"There's not even a Voodoo Doll?" Bai Liang opened the door and looked at the operating room opposite. He was about to acquire another Voodoo Doll, but it turned out the person who was there before him hadn't used it at all.

Either this person had never bought one, or had already used it in a previous task and hadn't managed to restock.

It was obvious that at this level of task difficulty, almost no one would neglect buying a Voodoo Doll, which could save a life. So, it was most likely the latter.

Bai Liang glanced at the operating room. Its door was already closed again, while the laboratory door, on the other hand, remained open. From here, it was impossible to discern what was happening inside.

After standing for a mont, noticing nothing suspicious, Bai Liang left the office and headed to the end of the corridor, towards the laboratory.

anwhile, so ti after his departure, a doctor erged from the office with several books in hand. He headed towards the laboratory exit, clearly having finished his shift.

Two people in White Lab Coats were coming to et him. Both were tall, and white masks covered their faces.

They had the sa badges on their chests as the doctor who had just left the office. Their data was indicated on the badges, and they seed to be from the operating room.

"Good morning, Doctor Lyu, have you finished your shift?" one of them greeted the doctor.

Doctor Lyu slightly raised his head, his expression a little confused. It seed he had never seen these two in the operating room before.
