After pondering the question for a while, Bai Liang decided to stop thinking about it, as it seed pointless.

To find the answer, he would have to wait until tomorrow.

After a short break at noon, Bai Liang left his room and headed to the laboratory.

Walking down the corridor, he noticed sothing strange.

The passage ahead of him was illuminated only by the lights from the ceiling lamps; complete silence reigned, not a single sound could be heard.

This was the Sun Eclipse Biotechnology Scientific Research Building, where nurous scientists resided on every floor. Even if their rooms weren’t directly adjacent, they all used the sa corridor to reach the laboratory.

The corridor shouldn’t have been so quietat this ti, he should certainly have t other people.

The mont Bai Liang sensed sothing amiss, distinct footsteps suddenly echoed from ahead.

Click-clack! Click-clack! Click-clack! Click-clack!

Bai Liang looked up and saw a vague figure slowly approaching from the end of the corridor. It was dressed in white, walking with its back to Bai Liang.

High heels adorned its feet, and its strange, shambling steps drew closer to Bai Liang. The distinct click-clack of heels against the floor echoed through the corridor, adding an ominous atmosphere to the scene.

The sight was so eerie that it sent an unpleasant chill down one’s spine.

“Who’s there?”

Bai Liang frowned and loudly called out to the figure.

His voice reverberated through the corridor, but the person ahead seed not to hear. It didn't respond and continued moving.

【Damn, I have a weird feeling this is sothing spooky! Has Bai Liang run into sothing supernatural?】

【Isn't there sothing creepy hidden in every dungeon? The only difference is what rules keep them in check. Even those scientists actually seem strange.】

【But this figure looks especially terrifying. It seems to be actively hunting Bai Liang, and it's unclear how to avoid it!】

【Have you forgotten the rule Bai Liang's senior brother ntioned? If you see a familiar figure in the building, but it doesn't respond to your words, you must imdiately return to your room, lock the door, and only open it when the sounds outside disappear!】

【So Bai Liang should imdiately turn around and go back to his room!】

【Can't he contact his senior brother? That's also a way to escape.】

Not waiting for a response from the figure, Bai Liang recalled the words of his senior brother, Yan Lin.

He imdiately turned around and headed back to his room.

But the mont he turned, the lights in the corridor suddenly went out. Instantly, Bai Liang felt a foul, disgusting wind gust into his face.

Thanks to his enhanced vision, he saw that the ominous figure had sohow appeared directly in front of him.

It was a head with no face, but on the back of its head was a huge, ugly mouth.

“Haaah~!”

It opened its mouth, and an indescribably foul odor erupted from it, hitting Bai Liang directly in the face.

Such a sight would make anyone else pale with terror and flee without looking back.

However, Bai Liang remained completely calm, even smiling slightly.

He leisurely took a pair of white gloves from his backpack, put them on, and only then looked at the strange creature before him.

“You know, I hate it most when soone breathes in my face. Are you even aware how much your breath stinks?”

As soon as he finished speaking, the creature imdiately snapped its mouth shut. A mont later, it opened it again and spoke:

“You... you’re not running away? If you don’t run, I might just eat you...”

“So, you can talk too?” Bai Liang sneered upon hearing this. “Actually, I was planning to run, but now I’ve decided to teach you so manners!”

“Do you know what manners are?”

The creature clearly didn’t understand his words, but it definitely knew what it ant to seek death.

It slowly opened its mouth, which at first looked normal, but then suddenly expanded into a huge, bloody maw, and it lunged to bite Bai Liang!

It wasn't just threateningits intentions were deadly serious.

Bai Liang calmly looked at it and said coldly:

“You don’t know what manners are? Illiterate, yet you’re here showing off!”

With these words, a purple curtain of light spread out from beneath his feet, instantly enveloping the surrounding space.

At that very mont, Bai Liang appeared behind the creature, skillfully dodging its attack.

Shaking his fist, he delivered a powerful blow directly to its head!

Bam!

“Now I’ll teach you what manners are!”

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Bai Liang’s fists rained down upon the strange creature’s head. Each strike sent it flying backward, accompanied by piercing screams of pain.

“Politeness is when you pee in the street, you turn away; after eating, you wipe your mouth on the curtains; and on a rainy day, you return ho, waving your arms like flower petals!”

When the last punch landed, Bai Liang brushed invisible dust from his hands and looked at the creature lying on the ground like a beaten dog:

“And also, after using the toilet, don’t forget to thank the toilet!”

---

【...You call that politeness?】

【Politeness, but just a little bit.】

【Damn it, waving your arms like petals, are you even human?】

【Toilet: Thanks for the treat~ Arigato, Toilet-san, hahaha.】

【Here we go again, huh? Bullying a strange creature? Do you think it’s a dog or sothing? What about its honor?】

【Strange. Why did I think Bai Liang would have problems? Next ti, maybe I should think about how strange creatures can escape from Bai Liang.】

After the strange creature was defeated, Bai Liang imdiately contacted his senior colleague, Yan Lin.

When Yan Lin arrived with several security personnel and saw the strange creature lying on the ground like a beaten dog, with an unperturbed Bai Liang standing beside it, his face reflected utter astonishnt.

“Senior Brother, are you alright?” Yan Lin checked Bai Liang from head to toe, worried about him.

Bai Liang shook his head, then, looking at the strange creature being carried away by the security personnel, asked Yan Lin:

“Senior Brother, do you know what that thing is? And why are such things in the company?”

Upon hearing this, Yan Lin frowned and replied:

“You know what’s most important in our research project, right?”

Bai Liang thought for a mont and cautiously suggested:

“Z-cells?”

Yan Lin nodded:

“Z-cells were accidentally discovered by one of our professors. It was thanks to their discovery that this project was initiated!”

“You’ve already seen the research materials on Z-cells. They are super-cells, capable of evolving based on their environnt. If we can fully study them, the problem of human genetic modification will be completely solved!”

Bai Liang looked puzzled:

“And what do Z-cells have to do with that creature we saw?”

“A direct connection,” Yan Lin said, looking towards where the strange creature had been dragged away, and with a heavy expression, added, “That was the first researcher who ca into contact with Z-cells.”

“When the professor discovered the Z-cells, one of her students was collecting them. But in the process, he was accidentally exposed to these cells.”

“And this is the result: he transford into what you saw.”
