Space fractured like brittle glass beneath the weight of their conflict.
Sentinel Pri burned with terrible radiance, his optical sensors blazing with the feverish light of conquest. Wherever his scepter traced its arc, the laws of reality bent to his will, twisted, subjugated, remade into sothing that served him alone.
He was a warlord of the Unicorn's court, his campaigns legendary, his victories countless. Entire civilizations had fallen to his might, erased for daring to resist his power.
As a chanical lifeform, his regenerative capacity was nearly indefeasible. Wounds that would slay titans were sealed with chanical precision. Even rule-based and conceptual attacks dissolved harmlessly against the AT Field that encased his war-form, rendering them aningless before his superior nature.
Thus, their battle devolved into primal savagery, titans clashing violently in the void.
The scepter rose high. Space tore open. The gashes wept terrible energy, brilliant and coruscating across the darkness. This instrunt was forged from Cyber-tal, the universe's rarest substance, a conductor of unimaginable potency. It resonated with its wielder's will, amplifying the laws of creation itself into instrunts of annihilation.
Lion El'Jonson radiated luminescence like a god-form torn from myth. His longsword blazed with the brilliance of suns, cutting through the void like a beacon of judgnt.
Clang!
The collision rent the void apart. Shockwaves shattered asteroids and teorites like dust, scattering them across the battlefield. Sound itself defied physics, echoing across every sector, and every warrior present heard it, the universe itself screaming in agony.
Both combatants hurtled backward, separated by hundreds of kiloters.
Sanguinius charged without hesitation, his spear extended as a lance of judgnt. His wings, luminous and eternal, tore through the dinsional barriers as he descended upon his foe.
"Space Restraint."
The invocation was law. His Gene Engine bent spatial reality to his design. Transparent barriers crystallized around Sentinel Pri, a cage of geotry and force that should have held him fast.
Crack. Crack.
Sentinel Pri's scepter shattered each barrier with ease, shattering them like glass.
Behind him, a cannon gathered stellar radiance and unleashed its wrath upon the battlefield. Sanguinius was hurled backward, his trajectory carved through the void in a desperate arc.
Guilliman seized the opening, seeing his chance. He beca motion itself, a living projectile of transhuman fury and purpose.
Subspace blessings and Gene Engine enhancents rendered him no less in physique than his opponent, and as Sentinel Pri's balance wavered, Guilliman reached forth to claim the scepter.
He had already divined its truth: this weapon was the nexus of the warlord's power.
But Sentinel Pri's secondary limb extended a cannon. Starlight erupted without warning. The beam engulfed Guilliman in destructive radiance, consuming him in brilliant fire.
[Warning, protective field approaching critical failure.]
[Warning—]
The alerts scread through his systems. Yet Guilliman paid them no heed. He swung his blade through the onslaught, the tearing field inscribed upon its edge, severing Sentinel Pri's arm clean.
The scepter flew free, spiraling into the void.
Lion El'Jonson tore open a spatial rift and banished it beyond reach, a decisive removel of the weapon from its wielder's grasp.
Disard and crippled, Sentinel Pri's advantage crumbled away.
The battle turned decisively. After a tempest of violence, Sanguinius's spear found its mark, driving through the Transforr's thorax and piercing his spark chamber, the chanical heart that granted him life.
Sentinel Pri's cry of agony reverberated through the void
Lion El'Jonson rushed forward, his blade raised high to deliver the final blow that would end this war.
Then space itself scread open.
The Void Wind surged forth like a typhoon given dinsion and malice.
A tentacle, colossal beyond reckoning, a thing before which planets were marbles in an infant's hand, extended from the rift without rcy.
The three Primarchs were cast aside like children's toys, powerless against such overwhelming force.
The tentacle coiled around Sentinel Pri, drawing him back into the spatial tear. The rift sealed. It vanished without a trace.
Lion El'Jonson and Sanguinius activated their engines, their consciousness diving into the data-stream to analyze the spatial signature and pursue their enemy. They would ensure Sentinel Pri's absolute destruction.
But then Guilliman collapsed.
Accumulated damage had reached its threshold. The weight of his injuries forced them to abandon the chase. They turned their attention to their brother, and what they found terrified them.
Guilliman had endured Sentinel Pri's maximum output, then suffered the Void Wind's tentacle at full force. Repeated catastrophic trauma had accumulated into a wound beyond reckoning.
Only a Primarch's transhuman physiology—only the blessing of his Gene Engine—prevented death from claiming him countless tis over.
[Warning, body damage reached 85%. Unknown power signature detected in cellular matrix.]
[Warning, vital signs decreasing. Initiating self-repair protocol.]
[Warning, core origin compromised. Repair sequence obstructed.]
The alarms were white noise. His mind had fractured. His senses scattered into fragnts. His brothers' voices reached him as distant echoes, hollow and unreachable.
The dical deck was a cathedral of sterile white and gleaming steel, cold, soulless, devoted entirely to the preservation of transhuman flesh.
When word ca that the Thirteenth Primarch lay comatose and grievously wounded, the Four Heroes of Ultramar abandoned their stations without hesitation.
Tauno, Ax, Valentus, and Stross moved through the fortress's intricate corridors with urgent purpose. They arrived at the dical sector to find their lord lying upon a dical bed, surrounded by humming machinery and the clinical ministrations of Apothecaries.
The sight broke them.
Guilliman's azure armor lay shattered. His musculature, usually lustrous and perfect, was charred black with necrotic damage. In places, blackened bone showed through ruined flesh.
The figure of godly perfection was rendered mortal, broken, vulnerable.
Tauno—praised as hero and demigod—felt panic claw at his heart. His composure shattered like ceramite under cannon fire. Here stood a warrior of legendary renown, reduced to helplessness before forces beyond his capability.
The other three heroes fell into stunned silence, their extraordinary minds crashing against the terrible reality before them.
"Sages. Over here."
Lion El'Jonson's call cut through the oppressive quiet.
He parted the gathering crowd, making way for the Adeptus chanicus delegation, corpulent figures in scarlet robes, their bodies augnted with countless chanical prosthetics, each supported by anti-gravity chassis.
The Sages approached Guilliman's form. chanical appendages moved with precision. Holographic displays blood around the dical bed, filling with scrolling data and cascading value curves.
After prolonged analysis, one of the senior Sages turned to address the assembled Primarchs and heroes.
"The Primarch has suffered damage from a rule-based power designated as Annihilation.
