Tang Yuxiu sat by the bedside, staring at the sleeping Gu Yan. Her cheeks were tinged with a touch of red from the high fever, yet he felt no relief.

The conclusion he had co to from the beginning was denied today by Xiang Linghao himself.

He could choose not to believe others, but Xiang Linghao had no reason to deceive him.

Undeniably, there was a sense of relief in his heart. She wasn’t the person he thought she was, and he inexplicably felt a sense of joy.

But accompanying that was a strong sense of guilt, mixed with a bit of heartache.

She had clearly explained and pleaded for him to believe her, yet he stubbornly chose to believe only what he saw, not realizing that what he saw was rely a fragnt, nothing substantial.

He should have known long ago, when she so unguardedly answered him last ti, that he should have believed her words to be true.

With such pure and transparent eyes, how could she possibly lie?

Yet he had treated her so brutally, speaking such heartless words to her.

She must hate him to death.

Tang Yuxiu didn’t know why he cared so much about what she thought of him and how she felt about him, but he didn’t want her to hate him.

Gu Yan, I’m sorry.

He said it in his heart, yet could never bring himself to say it out loud, even now, as Gu Yan lay in a deep sleep.

Tang Yuxiu stayed up all night, keeping vigil by Gu Yan’s side.

Xiang Linghao made do on the living room sofa all night, occasionally helping to remove Gu Yan’s IV. Tang Yuxiu, wanting to prevent any sudden complications for Gu Yan, refused to let him leave, insisting he stay until Gu Yan woke up.

Having been up half the night, Xiang Linghao curled up on the sofa with a throw pillow, still asleep when You Shuyang ca to pick up Tang Yuxiu for work.

It was You Shuyang’s first ti seeing Xiang Linghao sleeping so poorly on soone else’s sofa, and he said nothing.

Upon waking up, You Shuyang checked the group chat, learning that Gu Yan had fallen ill last night. They had been complaining in the chat about Young Master Tang, unaware that he was oblivious, likely uninterested in any group chat banter at the mont.

Inside, You Shuyang felt a bit upset. Whenever he leaked gossip, Tang Yuxiu would always catch him in the act, yet when Xiang Linghao spilled the beans, nothing ever happened.

He felt quite aggrieved.

Tang Yuxiu wasn’t going to work today, so he had You Shuyang help excuse Gu Yan for a day and carry so docunts to the company for him to handle.

You Shuyang didn’t even have the chance to inquire about Young Master Tang’s woman before being hurried downstairs by Tang Yuxiu.

Out of spite, You Shuyang deliberately walked over to the sofa where Xiang Linghao was sleeping and kicked it hard.

Xiang Linghao jolted awake, nearly falling off the sofa, "Damn it, is it an earthquake?"

You Shuyang laughed heartily, his mood instantly lifted, and left before Xiang Linghao had a chance to react.

Once Xiang Linghao ca to his senses, he cursed at the door, "Damn you, You Shuyang, next ti if you fall sick, don’t ever co to , I’ll dissect you alive!"

You Shuyang was already driving away, unable to hear his words, when Tang Yuxiu’s cold and harsh voice ca down from upstairs.

"If you don’t want to die, shut up! What’s all the howling about?"

Doctor Xiang felt greatly wronged!

He wanted to leave this place, leave Jiang City, go far away, curse them to incurable diseases, and he could stand by coldly, laughing at them.

Doctor Xiang childishly grumbled, grabbing a throw pillow to hug as he lay down to catch up on sleep.
