The Norx Type allowed an Origin to summon a creature to his side. This did not an that the Origin was useless without his summoned creature, but that was where all of the Origin’s power resided.

Once Enor lost his creature, the Bone Keeper, the fight was practically over for him. The Norx Type Origin had no chance against any other Type without its guard, and for the sa reason, they were quite weak in close combat. The Arx or Garon types were too dangerous.

But, even though Daren had two wolves under his control and had a summoning tool, a fang whistle, just like Enor’s cane, his Catalyst was not the Norx Type.

His summoned creatures were different from the very beginning: his wolves could fight both separately and give him powers.

It was the Syrax Type.

As with the Garon Type, which was similar to the Arx Type, the Syrax Type had similarities to the Norx Type, but there were enough distinctions.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The air trembled around Daren, the tips of his hair floating upward from the unstoppable power that covered his body, and his vision completely changed, focusing only on the Remnant Guard.

"Be ready," Daren said without looking at Kreyn. "You must take advantage of every second, because after this, our team will have one less fighter."

Without hesitation, Daren lunged forward, leaving a glowing trail on the ground with every step.

For the first ti in their battle, the Remnant Guard raised his sword.

Daren’s eyes narrowed. He was using this power for the first ti, but he knew what he had to do. As any Origin, he had his own Epos, which was also his first guide.

’Okay, one precise attack. That’s all I need. I’ll do this and then... then I’ll smoke.’

"GROOO!" The Remnant Guard slamd his sword into the ground as a stream of blue fla rushed toward Daren.

His eyes widened as he shifted sharply to the right before throwing his arms forward.

In a heartbeat, all of Daren’s energy transford into the silhouette of a wolf’s head looming over him. The mont the wolf opened its jaws ferociously, Daren vanished.

THRUST!

A stream of blood gushed from the Remnant Guard’s chest as Daren flew past him. His arms were crossed like a predator leaping on its prey.

The Remnant Guard swung his sword, knocking Daren away like an annoying fly. His energy ca to an end as he crashed into the ground several tis before coming to a stop. It was a great power, but he could only use it for a few seconds.

Well, that was enough.

Tap.

Kreyn jumped onto the barrier hovering above the ground and, with a nacing look, plunged his sword straight into the Remnant Guard’s wound.

"It’s ti to die, asshole."

The Remnant Guard’s eyes filled with fear as energy charged the hollow in the dark sword.

BLAST!

The explosion tore the remains of the armor to pieces as shreds of flesh flew in all directions.

The plan succeeded, and it should be over.

"Great..." Kreyn grinned, his face half covered in blood. "Just a few seconds, but that turned out to be enou—!"

Whoooooosh.

Chains tore through the smoke screen, heading straight for Kreyn.

"Grh!"

Two sharp points pierced his shoulder, causing his face to twist in pain as the others tied him up and threw him to the ground.

A trembling, great fra towered over Kreyn, as two blue flas lit up in the darkness.

The wounded Remnant Guard raised his sword with both hands, preparing to pierce Kreyn with his next move and leave him to rot into the earth.

"No! Fuck!" Judith exclaid as she rushed to help, but Kreyn was too far away.

Twitch. Twitch. Twitch.

Kreyn tried to break free from the chains, but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t break them.

Such a situation shook even his usually confident deanor.

’Shit! Shit! Shit!’ He exclaid internally as the heavy sword approached him. ’I have to get out of here. I have to break these chains, right fucking now!’

At the last mont, sothing changed in Kreyn’s gaze. Unknown symbols flashed across his eyes, like a string of runes.

In fact, Kreyn knew every word well, because he was their creator.

[First Script of the Record, Sacrificial Worm – the Will of the Exhausted, was activated.]

But that was what Kreyn heard. He read sothing else.

[You always know what to do in a desperate situation. You will always fight to the end, because you want only one thing – to win.]

Crack.

The crimson fla ran through Kreyn’s hands as, in a sharp movent, he broke the chains. The links flew apart as the sword plunged into the ground.

Judith’s eyes stopped as she held her breath, waiting to see the result, but... the sword pierced no one, only the bare ground.

Whooooooosh.

At the sa mont, Kreyn flew out of the dust cloud, followed by crimson fu, the trail that gave him strength, but at great cost. By now, blood was flowing from his eyes, and the veins in his face were swollen, but he had to get the job done no matter what.

One of the effects of his Record was that it would sohow help him in desperate situations. Now, it has beco clear how it worked. It was sothing like his last card. If Kreyn managed to win in those few difficult seconds, he would live, and if not, defeat and death awaited him.

Considering what kind of person Kreyn was...

"What could be better?!"

He roared right in the Remnant Guard’s face, covering his helt with blood.

The Remnant Guard was wounded and put a lot of strength into his last attack. He did not have ti to react to Kreyn’s actions.

THRUST!

The dark sword passed through the slit in the helt as Kreyn grinned widely.

"You are big and strong, protected by armor, and you even survived an explosion right in your chest, but we all have weak spots, right?"

The Remnant Guard’s eyes filled with fear as purple electrical sparks ran along the blade.

BLAST!

A deafening explosion tore the Remnant Guard apart, his helt shattered as his massive body collapsed to the ground.

With a slight tremor, cracks ran across the body like glass as the Remnant Guard shattered into hundreds of fragnts.

"Hah..." Kreyn chuckled, falling backward. "What a big bastard. He almost killed ! Hahaha!"

Daren, Liam, and Judith exchanged glances. They were all baffled and frightened, but soon everyone smiled happily.

"Damn! That was tough, but we won!" Judith exclaid.

"Of course we are!" Kreyn lifted up. "If we’d lost, we would’ve died, and I don’t want to die so early."

Liam was about to say sothing, but at that mont, a crackle rang out from the side.

All eyes turned to the horned skull, to the Remnant. The guard was defeated, which ant that all the accumulated energy could no longer be held back.

A blue stream surged upward, crushing the skull as all the energy turned into an active vortex.

"This... What is it?"

Liam muttered, staring at the floating, shimring orb, like a giant bubble that encased countless rainbows.

Twitch.

Judith ran her fingers through her hair as her eyes lit up with delight.

"Holy shit! It’s the Echo! It’s really it!"

No one else knew anything about this strange object, but from Judith’s reaction, Kreyn understood one thing:

’Looks like soone hit the jackpot? It was definitely worth it.’
