Earth.
On an island near the Pacific Coastline.
The serene sea, crystal-clear waters, the seabed carpeted with fine sand— the entire ocean seed like a quiet, alluring young maiden.
Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered when a group of handso n and beautiful won in swimsuits burst out of the luxury villas on the island, diving straight into the calm waters, creating ripples that gently spread outwards toward the unknown distance.
After having their fill of fun in the sea, these people returned to the beach to bask in the sun.
However, the Sun’s radiance was a bit intense at the mont, and to prevent the skin from tanning, they all activated their sunblock mode.
A beauty uttered "sunblock mode" and the bikini she was wearing suddenly transford, extending outward from a tiny scrap, in a matter of seconds, covering all exposed skin to prevent direct sunlight contact.
This folding swimsuit was developed by Earth Civilization after it beca a third-level civilization and mastered Space Technology. It had three modes: swimming, lifesaving, and sunblock. The swimming and sunblock modes were self-explanatory, while the lifesaving mode was designed to counteract unforeseen incidents in the sea. If the lifesaving mode was activated, the swimsuit would inflate into a spherical form, hoisting the person who’s drowning to the surface, making it easier for rescuers to provide aid.
The material of this folding swimsuit is incredibly thin, just 50 atoms thick. By rearranging the sequence and structure of these fifty atomic layers, it’s endowed with various functions, including but not limited to absorbing harmful electromagnetic waves (sunblock), water resistance, rapid heat dissipation, toughness, and wear resistance. The real challenge in making this folding swimsuit lies not in the material, but in how to orderly stack these ultra-thin materials in a confined space. Therefore, it was only after mastering Space Technology that such a folding swimsuit could be inventively produced.
However, Space Technology should have been applied to much more sophisticated uses.
Unexpectedly, it ended up being utilized to create swimsuits, a testimony to the unfathomable creativity of humanity.
At that mont, Ma Shaoyu, lying at the very center of the crowd, sighed: "We’re really living the good life, born in an era of Eternal Life, where we don’t have to suffer the tornt of death. Plus, with my dad being a successful entrepreneur, I don’t have to do anything; I just eat, drink, and have fun all day. Life like this is a bit boring, yet feels so comfortable."
"Hey, I’m planning to visit Green Star in a few days. Who’s up for it?" Ma Shaoyu asked in the end.
A woman hesitated: "Isn’t this a bad ti, Ma Shaoyu? The governnt just issued an ergency order a while ago saying that extraterrestrial creatures had entered Earth. Wandering about carelessly could spell doom—Eternal Life won’t save you then."
"That incident is over a month old. If anything were going to happen, it would have by now. But globally, there’s been no news about encountering extraterrestrial beings. Most likely, the aliens invaded Earth all aggressive and swaggering, only to find the living conditions here unsuitable, leading to their total annihilation, haha!" Ma Shaoyu joked, though not without so logic.
Everyone around couldn’t help laughing, creating a lively atmosphere.
Ma Shaoyu continued: "This ti, I’m planning to take the most advanced Space Energy Type-3 airplane. I’ve heard that it’s equipped with the latest Space Acceleration engines, capable of reaching three tis the speed of light. Don’t you want to experience Superluminal Flight? And I’ll be covering all expenses."
"Don’t be silly; there are flight laws on Earth. Each altitude has its own speed restrictions. You can only travel faster than light when outside in space; otherwise, it’s illegal. The weapon systems on the planet’s surface are not for show. Even if you travel at superluminal speeds, they have ways to shoot you down. I’d rather not take that risk."
Lu Xing, who appeared demure, said: "I will just stay on Earth honestly, surviving until the end to see what the Cosmic Center looks like. As long as Earth doesn’t explode, I can’t possibly die. Nowadays, really, as long as you don’t seek death, you won’t die. Surviving is the true way to live."
"Cut it out, Lu Xing. You’re notoriously cowardly!" Ma Shaoyu said with disdain.
Lu Xing calmly said, "You know nothing. I have a clear goal and my own plan, unlike you guys who have no direction and just ss around all day."
"Haha, surviving is also a plan..."
Ma Shaoyu said, laughing uproariously with the people around him.
Yet Lu Xing remained stoic, neither pleased nor angry, as if he hadn’t heard their mockery at all.
Their relationship had always been good, and they often joked with each other, so a little teasing like this wouldn’t lead to any discord.
However, in the next mont, Lu Xing’s expression suddenly changed, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon of the ocean, a look of disbelief slowly spreading across his face!
Noticing this, Ma Shaoyu and others also turned their gaze towards the ocean’s horizon and likewise suddenly wore expressions of disbelief: "My God, how is this possible?"
"Right, this can’t be happening. How can such huge waves suddenly rise from the sea?"
Lu Xing gravely said, "I’ve read in books that ever since Earth left the Solar System and abandoned its satellite the Moon to wander alone, without the tidal gravity to affect it, the ocean’s surface has been mostly calm. How could such huge waves suddenly arise? Especially when there isn’t any strong wind."
Suddenly, upon the previously placid sea, colossal waves, three to four stories high, surged towards the island.
Witnessing this, the shock on Ma Shaoyu’s face slowly turned to excitent: "This is indeed impossible, but maybe it’s not a bad thing. I think the wave isn’t that high; perhaps we could try the extre surfing from the movies. The artificial waves at the water parks are only a few ters high; they’re not thrilling at all."
"I’m going to surf. Who wants to join ? I’ll get the boards ready!" Ma Shaoyu declared as he stood up, filled with a sense of adventure.
After a brief consideration, everyone, except for Lu Xing, agreed to go surfing.
Considering they had boards and were wearing foldable swimwear, even if there were so danger, they could avoid it; thus, they decided to go for the thrill!
Ma Shaoyu looked at Lu Xing and said, "Lu Xing, don’t be a killjoy. Co with us. It’s not like we’re going to die!"
"I’ll pass. Open the villa’s door for and let hide inside. It’s good enough if I just survive. I advise you not to go either; sothing feels off," Lu Xing shook his head.
"If you don’t want to co, fine, but don’t boss us around!"
Ma Shaoyu replied, slightly annoyed, but he still used voice control to open the large doors of the villa, simultaneously allowing the villa’s intelligent boards to fly out on their own.
Seven boards precisely flew into the hands of seven people.
Watching Ma Shaoyu and the others excitedly head toward the shore, Lu Xing behind them let out a soft sigh and then turned to run into the villa.
As for the giant wave rising on the sea, it already ford an enormous shadow that enveloped the villa and the entire island, casting an increasingly ominous feeling!
