"It’s alright, Alyssa." Michael said to Alyssa and then turned to Doctor Ro. "If the amount paid was similar to the amount I’m ant to pay you, then can I guess that was a down paynt for your service towards ?" He asked.
Doctor Ro silently stared at Michael.
Ah, so he was also this smart. This was boring then.
"Yeah, sothing like that." He said, turning his gaze away. "We don’t know how long we’ll be at it anyway. But that paynt covers up to the mont you give birth to your child and then I’ll get paid that sa amount again."
"Less than nine months’ paynt?" Michael asked and Doctor Ro nodded.
"Yeah, that’s what we agreed on." Doctor Ro said, and Michael turned towards Alyssa, wondering if this was true, but Alyssa was not there to listen to the entire thing.
She only knew Sebastian had asked Doctor Ro for the amount that Michael had promised him and was planning to send it to him.
She didn’t know what else they talked about so she couldn’t ascertain if he was telling the truth or trying to be a fraud once more.
Michael bowed his head.
It seed like Noah was planning to do his best so he could return before the birth of the child, but what if that was not the case, and even after the child was born, he still wouldn’t be next to him?
He shut his eyes for a mont and then opened them.
"Well, it’s fine." He said and took out his phone. "I’ll send the money to you right away."
After a while, Michael decided he wanted to go on a walk. The house was starting to feel suffocating and the emptiness in his chest was beginning to fill up with water that was drowning him.
It was too much.
So, if he took a walk around and managed to catch his breath then it would be fine.
"Where are you going, sir?" Alyssa asked, watching him walk out of his room with a body-length coat and a scarf in his hand.
"I’m going for a walk."
"Out in this weather?" Doctor Ro asked and Michael nodded.
"Yeah, I need to clear my head." Michael said as he wrapped the scarf around his neck.
"Then I’ll co with you." Alyssa said but Michael was quick to decline.
"No, it’s fine. I want to go alone." He said. "That’s the whole point of wanting to clear my head. I want to be alone."
"But..." She knew it was dangerous to let him go alone but he seed to be determined about going on his own.
If she insisted, he might get mad.
But, she was his bodyguard. There was no way she could allow him to leave the house on his own when there was danger lurking around at the mont.
"I’m not in any form of danger." Michael said, as if reading her mind. "I’ll only be in danger once I’m exposed to being affiliated with a werewolf and that’s if you co with . Right now, I’m just a regular citizen going out on a walk."
"Not with that scent, you’re not." Doctor Ro finally chipped in.
"What?"
"You have the scent of a female and it’s especially strong now that you’re conscious of your pregnancy." He said. "So, if you go out now and a werewolf or a rogue catches your scent, they’ll know right away that you’re so Alpha’s female and you’ll be put in danger."
He said it like it was no big deal, but it was in fact a problem, and this restriction got Michael pursing his lips in contemplation.
"You need soone to watch your back, sir." Alyssa said. "If we have to keep our distance, we’ll do just that. So, please don’t go out on your own and allow us to be with you?"
"Define us?" Doctor Ro said, clearly stating that he had no plans of going out. "It’s frigging cold outside."
"You have to earn your pay, you asshole." Alyssa lost it on him.
"I’m being paid more to be his doctor than his bodyguard."
"Whatever. You’re still getting paid for this so stop complaining."
"Hm, is this your way of saying you can’t protect him on your own?" Doctor Ro asked, ticking Alyssa off.
"Fine. If you don’t want to go, stay here." She said, giving him the results he wanted and he nodded.
"Okay."
Seeing this, she got so frustrated that she pulled her hair. Why was she stuck with a person like this?
Michael watched them. They were arguing again.
If he left them here, they just might aim for each other’s throats. He did ask them to promise him that they wouldn’t fight, but a person’s patience was only so thin, and Doctor Ro knew how to cut into that thin patience.
If Alyssa acted first, out of spite and didn’t an it, he would fight back out of ’self-defence’. He always knew how to coat his actions legally for soone who was of illegal existence.
Michael sighed.
"Alright, you guys can co along." He said. "But from a distance."
Maybe it would be better to have them close by. One never knew what could happen, right?
Better to be safe than sorry.
"Let’s go out and get so fresh air." He said but Doctor Ro didn’t like this.
Still, he had to go along with what Michael wanted.
He wore a jacket and Alyssa wore a coat. She took a look at his jacket and then scoffed.
"For soone who complained about how cold it was, you’re sure lightly dressed." She remarked but he ignored her provoking remark and said,
"It’s because I don’t like to wear plenty. I’d rather sit at ho where it’s warm than go out dressed like a penguin." He said and Michael actually nearly laughed.
"Pft." They looked at him, surprised and he blinked, realizing what he had done.
"Oh, sorry. I didn’t an that." He said, but it looked like he ant it very well. He found it funny.
Well, so long as there was a little smile on his lips, Alyssa would not take offense.
She cleared her throat and said,
"I guess it’s fine." She said. "I do look like a penguin dressed like this." She laughed softly but Michael did not smile or laugh a second ti.
He nodded his head and then headed for the door.
"Then, let’s go."
